I really liked this new Smashbox "Halo Tinted Moisturizer". I received the shade "Light Medium" and was kind of scared because it looked almost to dark and orange for me. I'm usually light but since it's the summer got somewhat of a tan, nothing crazy. Product was easy to squeeze out just the right amount that you would want to use. Seemed thick at first but as I applied with my fingers it blended into my skin nicely and the color buffed right into my skin with out looking to dark or orange. The best part is the "glow" it gives your skin!!! Really impressed with the glow factor! The only thing I felt I had a problem with was the application. I had to go in with a beauty blender sprayed with setting spray because after using my fingers it left like streak marks. I didn't mind going over it and setting it with the beauty blender. I felt I got a light, natural coverage ..which is what I prefer with the glow factor of course! Definitely felt nice and hydrated on my skin and didn't cause any breakouts throughout the day and taking off at night. I could see how they say it's primer infused because it does act like a primer in blurring imperfections and pores. You definitely can build up the coverage I feel. This tinted moisturizer give my healthy looking glowing skin and I would recommend it if u are looking for something not to heavy and natural looking plus quick and easy to apply. It did last all day. It did however transfer on to the inside of my mask 😷 I like that it has Hyaluronic acid, Niacinamide and gold & peptides in it too!!Plus it's vegan, cruelty-free and has SPF 25! I did receive this complementary to try from Influenster for my honest review. #complementary #influencer @smashboxcosmetics #haloskin
If you don't feel like reading then just skip down to the last paragraph & I'll sum it up there. Otherwise here goes I…. This review wouldn't submit unless I unchecked the "No I wouldn't recommend this to a friend" believe that? ANYTHING to try to skew the weight of negativity. Smashbox (& many others) are NOTORIOUS for not ever creating or accommodating the people w/cool undertones in all their face products. I've never found a foundation (or foundation-type product) from Smashbox that I can wear because they're ALWAYS too warm (yellow). Even the "neutral" shades are much too yellow. Tarte, Too Faced, UD, Nars, Estée Lauder, IT, Huda, (the list is long) are all brands that I can't wear because there isn't a shade match for me. I can't even "make it work even though I shouldn't have to at this stage of our consumerism. I've gotten to a point where I don't ever approach a foundation line thinking, "oh gee, I'd like to try this, let me grab my shade," no, I approach thinking, "let me humor myself (again) & see how close this line gets to a shade match, maybe I'll get lucky & this time will be different." My friend said, "that's really sad, bcz it's no different from how people feel when a brand doesnt make shades deep enough — cough-cough Hourglass (& almost every other luxury brand out there). I wish there was a brand that came out with a line that offered those hard to find shades or undertones. In all fairness though, the Pür 4 in 1 Love Your Selfie Foundation is the only high end foundation (that I have found) that has a PERFECT (Winter) shade match AND simultaneously love the formula too. It's nowhere near as difficult to match myself in the summer when I have a tan but I also don't wear a lot of foundation in the summer. Most other high-end brands don't make my winter shade which is a med-light to medium shade w/a truly cool (pink) undertone (not "peach" either! Peach is not cool, peach is peach!). Many brands label or describe a shade as peach or having a peachy undertone & claim it's a "cool undertone" & it's just not! Peach is more for neutral skin, not cool. I'm just so tired of brands completely excluding the truly cool-pink undertones. Having shades named or described as cool doesnt make it so. All exclusions at this point in time in the industry is unacceptable - it's lazy neglect in my opinion. Although Smashbox doesn't label any of their foundations as cool lol. They're all warm, neutral or olive. It's a blatant exclusion but at least I don't waste my time looking (& hoping) that I'll find a match. Sadly, I'm actually grateful for this "backhanded favor." Can't tell you how many times I've looked for my shade , only to realize that the one I had hopes for or thought MIGHT be a possibility, was named "cool bisque" (for example) & described as neutral w/a peach undertone or cool with pinky-neutral undertones & you swatch it & it looks like you smeared a streak of yellow paint on your hand or jawline }:( grrrrrr As usual I end up having to resort back to the ONLY brand that I've been able to count on for the past decade, that has always had shades (yes, plural) that are cool enough for my skin - it's the "CoverGirl 'Tru Blend' line." It's a very simple but STUNNING medium but buildable coverage foundation - very underrated & very inexpensive too (the original formula not the matte). I use shades M2 &/or M7 depending on time of year & &/or tan depth. It reminds me a lot of that newer $5 Wet & Wild product, that "Tinted Hydration". They're very similar but not dupes. I like them both. Anyway, Smashbox's foundation-type products suck bcz there's never been a line to accommodate a cooler skin tone. So they're missing out bcz there are a lot of us!

Honestly probably the most disappointing makeup purchase I have EVER made. I purchased light olive, and it is so dark and does not even have a HINT of green. It is pure orange. I've shaken it, I've tried sheering it out… this product is unusable. The model is absolutely not wearing this color, and the swatches have to be photoshopped. Never again.

This product is absolutely amazing I have very dry and sensitive skin this causes me no problems it does help hydrate my skin especially if you apply moisturizer first. It goes on smooth lasts the entire day doesn't get cakey or look oily this is the best tinted moisturizer I've ever used!

This product is OK. I would really give is a 3 1/2 star rating but I didn't know how to do that. I do like the SPF rating for when i go walking everyday.

Ive been trying to find the perfect tinted moisturizer, and for me, this might be it! Relieved to find one that provides coverage with a natural finish. (The SPF and moisture relief are great too of course.)

You've continued to gouge pricing - the product is nice but not worth 2X what it was! Thanks 4 pushing me to research alternatives.Found better quality&price. I can afford it but won't pay exorbitant! Total disservice to your loyal customers.Luck!

I like the coverage but it makes me break out. I only wear makeup twice a week when I go into work and my skin always feels very textured/ bumpy when I take my makeup off at the end of the day. Use a beauty blender because it streaks with hands.

SPF - Check! Primer - Check! Moisturizing Glowing, smooth-like and lightweight finish! Dry and normal skin. Fair/light shade.

Absolutely love. Lasted through 12 hours in the ER with a mask on and through sweating. Went on easily no weird streaking. Used a darker color (medium) of this as a "bronzer & contour"! My new everyday favorite

It looks so crusty even with good skin prep

coverage of the product was good but the product itself was way too greasy to enjoy applying and it would wipe away easily. felt so oily it was really gross and didnt actually melt into or stick to my skin. my skin type is combo but more oily leaning so maybe this would be better for someone with drier skin. the shade light neutral was too warm for me.

I've been looking for a complexion product that was less weighty than a foundation for everyday wear to even put my skin tone and give me a natural look and this did the trick. It evens out my skin tone and gives me that fresh look with a slight dewy appearance without looking cakey. I also love the SPF. It's my new every day go to for a subtle polished look.

This will have your skin looking flawless. It gives that makeup no makeup look. I apply it with my fingers first (like applying moisturizer) then blend out with brush or beauty blender.
Lex from Chicago
Not thick goes on nice definitely works even for senstive skin

I was shopping for a good tinted moisturizer with SPF for summer. I saw great reviews for this one and purchased. I even used the skin tone matching AI on the app, and the color selected was perfect! Easy to apply, surprisingly great coverage and will absolutely purchase again.

i got the lightest shade and love the finish and coverage (very skinlike) but it's just too orangey after oxidization.
Namita from Washington DC
Pros: It feels light, evens out skin tone, is not drying and adds a glow Cons: Separates and oxidizes after a few days, making it very patchy and orange-ish Overall: Better, more affordable options available in the market, would not repurchase

I will not buy again, the foundation cakes and looks very bad. I don't wear a lot so I'm surprised this happened.....
Rach from Dallas, TX
Keeps my skin hydrated, doesn't look heavy, just the right amount of coverage. Evens out skin tone but does not cover up a blemish, which is fine by me. Just feels like you are wearing a lightweight moisturizer.

This is my fave tinted moisturizer that i've tried. The colors are very well done too. Im valencia in Nars Natural Radiance foundation and shade medium is my perf shade match. It sheers out if my skin is doing well or I can build it up if my skin is breaking out. This is very glowy on its own so if youre oily then i wouldnt reccomend but you can make this a natural glow with mattifying primers/sprays/powders. I always go the extra mile and wear a glowy primer, glowy setting spray and a soft finish powder and my skin has this natural dewy skin like finish. I cannot get over it. This is my second summer wearing this tinted moisturizer and I think i'm hooked. I always get told how pretty i look when im wearing it. I love it!
