I've never been picky on dryers. I usually just buy whatever is cheapest. After my hair started to become wavier and frizzier after kids I started trying a few diffusers out and liked the Conair dryers, but I could tell I wasn't using the best one for me. The Curlsmith has a true low setting that does not get hot as it's in use. It also can go down to low from a higher heat setting and quickly reduce the temperature as if you had it on low to begin with. The high speed setting is less intense than my old dryer, but that's likely because the diffuser bowl is so large. That's actually great for me. I'm not getting heat damage like I was with my old 6 month old Conair dryer. I have fine hair, but a whole lot of it. If I let it air dry the underside takes close to 24 hours. The oversized diffuser allows the hair to space out and reach my scalp without having to just flip my hair upside down, which isn't great for my neck. I've had it about 2 months and it still runs as well as day 1 unlike what I experienced with my other dryers. I waited till there was atool coupon to buy it, but I wish I hadn't waited to get it. One note I will add is that it doesn't have a rubber like handle coating. That is ideal for me because I'm allergic to latex and soft touch plastics. I looked into getting a Dyson, but the models I had seen have the soft touch plastic coating. When I got the Curlsmith I was so grateful it didn't have that coating. If you know, you know that this is a huge. It's easy to hold on to and I haven't dropped it while drying my hair like I did with my Conair (love you Conair, but I can afford a better dryer now).
Overall, this is a solid blow dryer. The diffuser bowl is huge and is great if you have a lot of hair. I use this dryer for wash-n-go's and to set protective styles (e.g. flexi rods, Bantu knots, dampened passion twists, etc.), and have been impressed with the drying time / various heat settings. Two negatives: 1) The diffuser bowl is super delicate and doesn't stay attached to the dryer. It often falls off while I'm diffusing and it can get hot, making it difficult to put back on mid styling. 2) The dryer itself is very large. While it isn't heavy, it can be a bit awkward to use and isn't great to travel with. For reference, I used points + the Ulta CC to purchase this (def. don't think it's worth the full price). My curl type is 3C. Hope this helps!

The first one I bought for myself, but since it was close to my daughter's birthday, I ended up giving it to her. I liked that it stood or leaned for hands free use, the power and the huge defuser. It was perfect for her thick curly hair and my not so thick . It dried quickly and left my hair with lots of volume.

I've always had an issue with frizz and this diffuser one million percent removed 99% of it! Highly recommend to any one who's trying to love their curls cause I know it's a lot of work. Curl Smith Diffuser will change your life! I have low-med porosity hair, mainly 3B curl pattern.

I have 3b curls that I have to use an insane amount of product into just so it dowamt get frizzy through the drying process that used to take me around an hour. It took me 15 minutes and I didn't need to add extra product half way through drying because my ends are dry but my scalp isn't. As we all know, if that scalp isn't fully dried, we get limp curls with no body. I will say, im not quite sure why the lever switches are set up the way they are. from top down they go Lo, Med, high and off, lo, hi. Takes some getting used to but I'm sure I will. Great blowdryer

I have tried so many different curly hair products and diffusers, and was skeptical about buying something so expensive. This was worth the money if you're serious about hair care! The frizz is so much less compared to other diffusers, and it leaves the hair light and silky smooth. Only downside is, the diffuser attachment is pretty difficult to remove from the hairdryer, which can make transporting it difficult. But I am willing to live with that!

I love the extra large bowl and that even on high, I feel there is not too much heat. Top notch hair dryer!

It has cut my drying time in half with the XXL diffuser! I loved that it came up the root attachment as well. I've been searching for a long lasting, good blow dryer for my long hair and one that doesn't break the bank and I found it!

This is an excellent hair dryer. I love how the cool setting doesn't require extra effort to hold down, and the diffuser bowl is huge.

Love this dryer! Was hesitant to purchase due to the price but I'm so glad I did. The large diffuser is wonderful and has cut down my drying time considerably.

For how big it is, it's surprisingly lightweight. I love the stand which lets me easily set it down between sets. The high heat and high fan is still gentle enough that there isn't a lot of damage or fly-aways. I don't know that it's cut my drying time down significantly, but that could be more about my technique than anything. It's expensive but worth the cost for how well made and user friendly it is.

Order this hairdryer when it first came out, I was very excited about the XL diffuser. I love the different heat settings, however if I use it on the hot setting the diffuser begins falling off the hair dryer, I assume the plastic gets too hot and expands . This is extremely annoying when trying to style my hair.

I debated on purchasing this hair dryer/diffuser for the longest time because of the price. I finally broke down and bought one and after using it several time I can honestly say it was worth it. It never gets too hot and with the size of the diffuser my hair is dried quickly.

The speed of drying my hair is half of what it was previously. Love this!

not gonna lie, I don't typically review products and I was really skeptical about this given the price, but it's pretty good. The extra large diffuser does cut my drying time by a bit (not by half but still worth it). I think since it can hold more of my hair at one time it helps hold curl clumps better than diffusing one section at a time and not drying evenly. It's worth it.

I love this hair dryer! I've been using it for a month and I can't believe how much I love it. it has even made drying my girls' hair much faster. That's a win.

To me this blow dryer is not heavy at all. My old Revlon one was definitely way heavier. My arms do not get sore and no more back pain when drying my hair. Soft bouncy curls. Actually got my hair completely dry! Definitely enhanced my natural texture. All my life I thought my hair was more wavy with some curls here and there.... my hair is actually way more curly than that. So much easier to dry my hair. I'm still amazed by it. No longer hate wash days and no longer think my natural texture is ugly/limp.

What used to take me 20-25 minutes now takes me about 10 minutes with this diffuser! My hair is SO much less frizzy and my curls look amazing after using it.

Great hair dryer. Has a large diffuser that is very useful for scrunch drying and the extra large bowl covers large portions of my scalp at once. My hair ends up curly without frizz. Happy I purchased it!

This diffuser dries faster without damaging my hair! I love being able to really control the temperature while drying.

This is my first diffuser that I have bought since starting my curly hair journey and let me tell you this diffuser is AWESOME! The bowl is so huge my hair dries in no time. The heat is hot enough to dry but cool enough to not fry your hair off. It also helps me control frizz. And the price was sooo good for my pocket. Highly recommend!!!

phenomenal; large but very manageable and remarkably quick!!

I have long, thick, curly hair and it used to take me forever to get it dry using regular sized diffusers. Now I can get my hair completely dry in about half the time. My only suggestion would be to make one in white so when you stretch your curls you can get them all the same length easier because your hair won't blend in with the color of the diffuser.

This dryer is absolutely fantastic!!! Large bowl is great for us curly's with longer hair…and my dry time is significantly reduced, and the shrinkage from my curls is absolutely amazing!!! I'm so thankful I decided on this dryer vs other high end dryers out there.
