The formula I would say is slightly sticky like you can't put a dot on your lips and expect it to spread all over but compared to other glosses it's not as sticky. The pigment is beautiful just like it shows. I also have fair skin, so it shows up very well on my lips. It has a nice cooling feeling at first and then after a bit then it starts to tingle. I would rank the pain a 3/10. You can definitely feel tingling, and it does last for quite some time, but it doesn't bother me enough to wipe it off or cause extreme pain. It wasn't bad at all. Remember, you are buying a lip plumper, so it's GOING to burn or tingle at least a bit if it's going to work. If it doesn't then it's most likely not going to work and do what it's meant to do. I've read reviews on other lip plumper and the best ones were the ones that burned the lips the most. If you have a very low pain tolerance, then I wouldn't recommend. Now sure it doesn't plump your lips as much as other plumping glosses, but I'd rather buy this gloss than a really overpriced one. I was excited & tried it as soon as it arrived, it burned so much I wiped it off within minutes but still felt the burn for some time. I don't normally have sensitively to products (& have used other plumping lip glosses) so I gave it another try a week later. Went light on applications, burned so bad- I stuck it out for a while, the durn didn't go away, lips never got larger & worst of all I licked my lips & the burn went all through my mouth & down my throat. I'm almost 60 years old , started to use makeup at 15) So, I know a few 100's glosses . If you don't like the feeling/ tingle, just clean it up and you're done.
