I greatly appreciate the chance to try Benefit's new POREfessional Lite water based primer, and was gifted a full size tube in exchange for my honest review and opinion. Thank you Benefit and Influenster!! 🥰 As soon as I squirted a little bit of the primer onto the top of my hand and rubbed it in, I immediately recognized the formula from another company. I figure some of y'all may have this other primer as well, so I figured I would do a side-by-side wear test with a full face of makeup so y'all can decide whether or not this is worth the purchase. I applied Benefit's primer onto the left side of my face and Touch in Sol's Icy Sherbert primer onto the right side of my face. Even though they are water based primers, I have never experienced a silicone foundation/concealer breaking up on top of the Touch in Sol, so I thought that perhaps Benefit's would be identical. It absolutely is! I used Hourglass concealer and Charlotte Tilbury foundation, neither of which broke apart over either primer. I set it with Tatcha Setting Powder and Morphe Illuminating Setting Spray afterwards. I forgot to take pictures of myself at the very beginning, but both sides of my face looked nearly identical. Benefit seemed to do a better job of blurring and minimizing pores however. After wearing the makeup for 6 hours, everything still looked pretty identical. The Touch in Sol was beginning to crease under my eye and around my dimples, but it wasn't bad. Both primers boast that they work for 12 hours and although I stopped the test after 10-11 hours, I could see where it was going. The pictures show the results afterwards and I tried to highlight the real problem areas. Neither primer gave me an issue around my nose, which is usually a problem area for me. However, both primers definitely started to lose their blurring capability and the creasing was getting real in some spots. From a couple feet away, my face still looked fairly flawless. Up close was a different story as you can see from the photos. All in all, I am quite impressed with Benefit's version of this primer. It feels and looks like a gel substance and provides a slight cooling effect upon application. The full size tube is about 0.8fl oz. for around $30 (Touch in Sol is twice the amount for around $34) so you don't get as much for your money, but you really don't need a ton either. I think for the drastic long-term difference between the two, Benefit is 100% worth the purchase. You will find that it works with a multitude of silicone based foundations/concealers. I truly enjoyed testing this out and have happily added it to my arsenal of primers (self proclaimed primer addict lol). I doubt you'll be disappointed. OH, and this new primer of theirs does NOT enhance skin texture like the original POREfessional primer had a tendency to do. Definitely plan on purchasing another tube once this one gets used up. 100% Recommend, especially for dry-skin. 💜
Thanks @influenster for my very first Vox Box. So glad that I received a make-up Vox Box for my first review. The primer that I received was from Benefit ( super loved their lip tint btw). The is the new formulation of the old formula. They have created a lite version of the Porefessional. The packaging is similar like the original which I really like. I have a dry and sensitive skin so I was bit skeptical about the new primer and thankfully I don't have a pore problem so can't really comment on how it reduced my pores :| Below is my first impression - Packaging : like the simple packaging. Benefit always aces on packaging Feel : The color of primer is light pink but it added no color post applying to my medium tan skin. Also primer consistency is like super soft cream and you have this cool sensation which I really liked. Performance : I tested it by applying it to my left side and applying concealer on top of that. Concealer on the primer side blended beautifully. The only turn off was it led to small bumbs on the skin. I have really sensitive skin and hence I was bit dissapointed. The concealer stayed longer on my primer side which is a plus. Final Verdict : 3/5.

Ordered during a promotional online sale, but got wrong one by mistake. I wanted the regular PoreFessional and not the "Lite". Tried it anyway and it doesn't absorb into your skin. It's too dry. It just balls up and flakes right off. I called customer service and wanted to exchange for the regular Pore primer and they said no, I'd have to mail it back at my own expense for refund and then reorder at the regular price, which is double the price I paid. Very unfair.

First problem is that half of it falls down when you squeeze it out. Half the time before I get a chance to rub it in, it crumbles and falls on the floor. Second issue is my rosacea skin hates it. I break out unfortunately.

Made my foundation look dry and cakey

Pairs well with my makeup. The ONLY downside is the fact that it crumbles down to the floor when youre trying to put it on! It would pill up, fall to the floor….. when it comes out of the tube, it doesnt form into a ball, it curls, and when you try to mix it in between your fingers before applying to face, it crumbles and falls. Makes my makeup look amazing though. Ill finish this tube I bought and see if i'll buy another one. Because once its on my face and I apply foundation, it really makes my foundation glow on my face. Only reason why I put up with the constant falling to the floor… but it is annoying.

The product works really well on my skin. It does not feel heavy or greasy, and it provides a seamless coverage while effectively concealing pores. The product lasts at least 4 hours on my skin without any touch-ups. It makes my skin feel comfortable and looks radiant. Highly recommend.

I tried this primer for the first time yesterday and it made a huge difference in the way my makeup looked. I'll definitely be repurchasing.

Love the clean feel

it has a very weird texture : feels almost solid while squeezing through the tube, falls off the fingers due to the solidity, and because of the weird texture you will need to use a lot more product than the original version. definitely recommend the original version, not the 'lite' one

The POREfessional Lite Primer just didn't work for me. This is not tinted like the POREfessional regular and doesn't fill and smooth as well. Also, it caused a little breakout for me. I'll stick with the regular!

This is my favorite Benefit primer!

The foundation that I got was water based, so they told me this would be the best primer that is water-based that will go with the foundation. I didn't get that the tiny or the mini size. But I soon as I opened it and squeezed it literally half of the product was dry like a skinny worm completely dry, so I'm returning

Had high hopes for this as I prefer lighweight primers. It comes out of the tube looking like a thin noodle. It can easily fall off your hand if not careful. Does not spread well at all. You need a lot of product to get basic coverage. Very disappointed, will be returning.

This product is amazing if you have big pores and a little goes a long way. I will definitely be buying again!

I've bought this half off during Ulta's 21 days of beauty. Wanted to try it to compare if it's better than the original. Was surprised that when I squeezed it from the tube, it always falls off!! I have the original and I never had this experience. Will be returning this and will just go back to the original. I guess, the classic ones will always be the best one. They should keep defective products off the market. I thought this one is water based then why is it too dry that it falls off from your finger and could not even spread it on your skin. What a waste!

Its crazy how small the full size is now. I thought they sent me a mini. Disappointed

This primer is perfect! The matte component that keeps you from shining, does that without drying! I never applied powder throughout the day. My foundation stayed put on top of it. Also, the texture feels like silk, very creamy & easy to apply. The tube is such a hygienic plus for me, also making the primer easy to travel with. The price is super reasonable considering the quality. It's a win & a future repurchase for me.

Displeased with product. Used the Pearl version for a long time before it was discontinued & this Lite version just doesn't cut it. It flakes after being applied. Won't be purchasing it again. Bring back the Pearl version. Also tried the original & it does the same thing. I'll try the Hydrating one & maybe have some success. If not I'll be going to another brand.

I once received this product in a VoxBox and let me tell you something. Ever since I received this product, I've been coming back to it. I prefer this one over the other ones because it works amazing with oily skin.

I absolutely love this primer. I think this is more hydrating than the hydration primer by benefit. Glides on smooth without that greasy feeling. Smooths over pores and wears well alone or under makeup.

No difference in skin when applied under makeup

This product makes your makeup look seamless and smooth. It makes foundation look so much better on the skin. It makes my pores look like their not even there.

Love that this is silicone free and water based so the gel is super light. It's able to blur pores effectively and lasts a long time. Since you literally can't feel it on you face, it's perfect for warm weather. Removed a star because it's a little expensive.

I have large pores and certain makeup settles in them and make them more obvious. This helped to do the opposite. They appeared smaller and was not as conspicuous.

Came out of tube like thin noodles, which made it EXTREMELY difficult to spread on my face. Very disappointing. I'm returning this tomorrow!!!
