NGL, I never looked at my brown hair and thought, wow this should be more brown, but I heard a lot of good things about this brand and it's cheap so I decided to try it out. The coolest thing about it is how blue it is: the shampoo hue is BLUE, and it even rinses out blue. After I styled my hair as normal it was very shiny and not dull at all, which I liked. I would buy this again but TBH I have no idea what "brassy" brown hair is.
This was not great. I went by all the positive reviews, and I regret it. Maybe it was my hair type, but every time I used this (every other wash, I wash my hair twice a week) it made my hair so greasy and hard in the back and roots. No matter how long/carefully I rinsed, it was like it left a residue or something on my hair and scalp. It looks like I didn't even wash my hair at all. I will say it DOES take off some brass, but the nasty feeling my hair gets is not worth it. I have fuller hair, but not super thick. If you have medium to thin hair, I would think you'd have the same issues. So disappointed.

My hair is a natural dark brown with red undertones. However i have recently dyed it black with blue hues. This shampoo keeps the red undertones neturalized and keeps my color perfect.

The blue pigments in this lean greenish/teal, not true blue/cobalt. They neutralized REDS in my faded level 6 copper hair without countering any yellows, thus making the overall effect not that of blue+orange=neutral brown but green+orange=yellow-brown. This might be useful for those with naturally very dark roots and *naturally* lighter reddish ends (like, almost burgundy). But for me, it just makes things look even more yellow and unflattering for my neutral-cool skin tone than my orange starting point. It is also extremely stripping/drying. I would be nervous to put this on hair that still had any toners/artificial color in it.

First of all the blue dye stains everything. It's stained my fingers, my hands, the skin on my back, my tub is blue — everything is blue! Both of my bottles, I bought the shampoo and conditioner, were impossible to open and eventually I just quit and had to screw the top open. The product smells good, but it doesn't feel like it cleans your hair, and it left me feeling greasy and dirty. I also experienced a lot of shedding when, using the conditioner, which is pretty rare for me, I will be returning this.

I was skeptical to buy this at first because of all the mixed reviews. I really wanted to like this but I just can't. I have caramel highlights and tried out this shampoo for 7 days and it did not help with the brasiness. However, I did read on how it depends on your hairdresser and how they decolor your hair but I thought it would work regardless. It smells amazing but the conditioner smells like box hair dye for some reason. The shampoo was nice to work with and has a pleasant smell. However when using both the shampoo and conditioner, I noticed that my hair was falling out in clumps. Don't get me wrong, I know I just dyed my hair and that most likely plays a role in my hair loss but the amounts of hair that was falling out when using this product was insane. I have used Eva shampoo in the past and have never had this problem. But overall, I would save my money and invest in a better shampoo.

I tried this because of the results I wanted and the herbal ingredients in it. However Blue Dye 1 is an ingredient and the worse thing that turned me off was it turned my hands and nails and rinse water blue! Not cool. It smelled great and hair soft and shiny though. Returning it.

I just read a review criticizing the shampoo for "adding color". Well, in shampoos that even out brass. Blue/violet help. Additionally, the color comes from a flower. The marketing for this product even highlights that fact. Anyway, I was given this shampoo & the hair mask as a gift. I typically only use products like Redkin but I was BLOWN AWAY by how my hair reacted to this stuff! I always feel & smell like I just left a pampering spa♥︎ It lathers up so easily & just a little bit goes a long way, which I didn't expect bc of the consistency and due to my hair being down to my waist. The hair mask really repairs, softens and conditions my hair, which is a tough job bc I take lots of prescriptions due to my disability and it takes a toll on my hair. It used to hurt to brush. Not anymore. I honestly refuse to use any other than this combo!

I bought this from Ulta because I had high hopes for this product. Sadly it makes my hair oily. I however like how it makes my hair smells.

Just to say I bought both Shampoo and Conditioner and while it did keep my hair dark (like how I like it) it also came with me shedding my hair a lot. I never have a problem with excessive hair shedding unless I bleached/ dyed my hair and it usually only last three hair watches. I don't really need to brush my hair either as it usually soft and also cuz it's wavy (duh that's why I by this product **this is note to self**) I do have slightly thick hair so I don't mind it but for someone who might have thin hair I highly don't recommend. Also it does dry out my hair but I use other products to help. I'm just using the product until it finished and switching back. I truly love Eve NYC product I use a lot of them but plz just skip this one.

This product makes you smell like you live in a smoker's home and doesn't lather at all, will not get my hair clean, and does nothing at all for the brassiness.

Maybe it's just my hair, but it turned my gray teal. I was smart enough to do a test strand. Stained my fingers as well My hair is gray with brown highlights. I think it's fair to say I should have gone with purple shampoo.

I wanted to like the shampoo and conditioner, but it was not good at all. It left my hair feeling dirty, greasy, and more limp than usual. The smell was okay, but too perfumed for my liking. The pumps didn't work at all, so I had to decant the shampoo and conditioner into other bottles. And it left my hands and bathtub with a blue tint to it. Overall, not a great introduction to the brand. I don't think I'll be trying anything else from them.

Hands-down the best shampoo I have ever use for my hair! I am a dark brunette and the shampoo smells amazing! I get so many compliments on my hair, and it's all thanks to Eva!!

Its towards the end of summer and my highlights were getting a little brassy. This toned them down and I really liked it.

This shampoo works wonders and the packaging is gorgeous MUST HAVE

I received a sample of this. Lathers well. Stains palms and scalp blue, but only slightly. I didn't notice a huge difference in brassyness. The fragrance is too strong for my liking. My hair was soft after use.

I saw no difference in the color of my naturally brown hair. This shampoo made my hair dry and lifeless. After using this product 1x I knew I could never use it again.

This my first time using this product. I have dark brown color treated hair and I have been using it twice a week for about two weeks now. So far my color looks as fresh as it did the day it was colored. It cleans well without drying it out.

I went into Sally's Beauty for a blue shampoo and the girls recommended this product and it was on sale so they said this is such a great product. The mask I bought is great. The shampoo and conditioner I am not happy with. It took a lot of shampoo for a good lather, conditioner is waxy and does not feel like it's "conditioning" my hair. It's messy which I wouldn't mind if it worked but it's just another con at this point, it smells fine, the conditioner was too thick to be pump out or something so I literally have to shake it out of the bottle which is harder than it should be lol.. and it leaves a blue residue on everything and needs to be scrubbed off. Kind of sad about it: I love the bottle and the ingredients. Was hoping for better. Also, haven't noticed any change in color of my hair either.

This works so well for blonde if you want a cool tone! I love that it's super pigmented yet doesn't stain my bathtub/shower. It will cause slight stains under your fingernails but it fades in a day or two. My hair is highlighted and this helped me achieve a lighter look while eliminating brass. I did leave it on for about 20-30 mins and used about half of the smaller bottle, but this worked better than lightening my hair another time.

I like this shampoo and the way it makes my hair feel but it has too much blue dye in it so its pretty messy. Not sure if it makes a difference in toning down my brassiness in my hair. Only used it twice and can't tell a difference. Hoping maybe it will improve after a couple more uses.

got a sample via pinch me. I have fine straight brown hair and this made my hair feel sticky and caused a lot of breakage when brushing. for this reason I do not like it. I cannot comment on how well it worked for removing brass tones as the sample only covered two washes.
