This is not what I got. The presentation and the wand itself is great quality; however, the coating on the barrel started to come off on the first use. I used pageant quality hair spray and the curls were more like waves. I have medium long hair, that is naturally curly and this wand didn't make pretty curls at all. My hair is fine and thin and when air dried is almost totally straight, so it has a hard time holding styles. In high humidity the curls have fallen a bit so be sure to use a good heat protectant/light hold product before using it and definitely use hair spray to set (I like the Pureology). I hold the wand behind my head and wrap the sections away from my face, then release the curl into my hand to curl for a few seconds before releasing.
