So… I should probably start off by saying I have extremely damaged hair. For reference, I bleached my hair about 8 months ago and did a keratin treatment about a year ago. I have fine hair and used to have more of a 2a kind of wave, but now my hair mostly looks like dry hay when air dried. I didn't have high hopes for this product. I hoped that it would improve the texture and smoothness of my hair, but wasn't expecting too much. I have used this product for about 2 weeks now, and I would say this product has outdone my expectations. After the first use, I felt like my hair was going back to its regular shape of waves and was way smoother. I think this product gave me the damage repair that I had hoped to receive from some very famous "repairs bonds" kind of products, that just didn't seem to work for me. The first time I used the product, I tried to follow the directions and squeezed out the water from my hair during my shower and applied liberally. I left it on for about 4.5 minutes (using a timer) and rinsed it out. My hair looked absolutely luscious after. The second time I used it, I was a little careless and didn't squeeze out the water from my hair. I would say my hair didn't look as good after the second use and I wasn't as wowed as when I used it the first time. And then subsequently I've been squeezing out the water from my hair and applying it liberally and leaving it on for the recommended time and have been impressed every time since. I would definitely purchase this product and am absolutely amazed by how efficiently this has improved the texture and quality of my hair. Totally recommend and it's a BIG SIZE.Most Helpful Critical ReviewNot the miracle product I hoped forI was so excited to try the Redken Extreme Mask, as I tend to have a lot of split ends from using a flat iron. It goes on easily and feels like it coats well. Rinsing it out was a challenge, as it was so "slick", it was hard to tell when it was truly rinsed out. It took 5-6 rinses to get it all out. It seemed to smooth my hair really well - until it got to my split ends. It seemed to make them even more noticeable because the rest of my hair was smooth. Overall it would probably work well if you don't have damaged hair, but then the need wouldn't be there.
