I am a huge believer in Kiehl's and have been craving a gel moisturizer from them. I was looking particularly for something that could actually replace the gel foundation primer I use, which is more expensive and obviously not Kiehl's. This does the trick! Lighter than a cream and more rapidly absorbed than a lotion, this gel moisturizes while leaving my skin dry to the touch almost immediately after applying. This leaves my skin ready for my foundation so that my pores don't clog with makeup, yet my face doesn't get oily or feel heavy since this gel is so light and dry. It helps keep my face more oil-free throughout the day than other moisturizers. Like most Kiehl's products, a little goes a long way, and the jar size is definitely sufficient in this case. I would recommend this product for anyone who could benefit from a moisturizer that goes beyond the lightness of Kiehl's lotions. I also recommend the entire Ultra Facial Oil-Free line to those with oily skin. I can truly tell the difference with these products. I use a mix of this line (cleanser and gel) and the Blue Herbal line (toner and spot treatment) for my acne-prone skin.Most Helpful Critical ReviewTerrible Break OutI am a fairly new Keihl's user and I have been trying a few things to see how they work for my skin. I have oily skin. I started using this product as part of the Ultra Facial Oil-Free collection (including the face wash, toner, day moisturizer, and this product at night). After a week of using the product, I noticed my skin condition was actually getting worse. I was traveling this weekend and used a different product (which was a travel size) and noticed my skin cleared up almost over night. Upon returning home and back to my normal routine, my skin immediately returned to being very poor. Through the process of eliminating one product at a time, I have found this particular moisturizer to be the culprit. Will NEVER use this on my skin again. I will probably only use the day time moisturizer until I run out (as it doesn't really do anything for my skin either.. good or bad). Same with the face wash.
