I used a Jcat palette in the past and remember liking it so I figured I'd give it a shot, while not really expecting TOO much. I am incredibly surprised at how good this is! The mattes do need some building up, but they do build and the colors can be really vibrant and beautiful. The shimmers, while not necessarily special, are really good basic shimmers and the shades are beautiful. I'm a little confused as to why they put two shimmers which, even side by side, look EXACTLY the same. (The first and last ones in the second row). It would have been better if one of them were a dark matte. The matter to shimmer ratio is really unbalanced. ONLY the top row is matte, and the deepest shades are shimmers. This shimmer formula does work dry to blend into the matte so you are still able to create depth with them. Im not sure if mine was a bad batch or just that terrible of a product. 1st off let me say the color scheme of the palette itself is beautiful. 2nd I was really drawn towards it because of the price point. That is really the only 2 positive notes I have for this product. The cons : 1st off does not swatch very well. You really have to dig deep for a decent swatch. 2nd I found it very hard to blend. 3rd I used eye shadow primer and I had the hardest time getting the pigment to come through. I had to keep packing it on and with it it not blending as well as I had hoped it ended up being a hot mess. I immediately washed it off and put the palette in my drawer of unwanted never to use again products. You get what you pay for. Mostly in this one. Ulta replaced it and i got the replacements they were in great shape. Super pigmented and blended like a dream. The shimmers were pretty but didn't last as long. However, there was a large variety of shimmers that was nice. Overall, for the longevity of the mattes and variety of pink/ purple hues, this palette was worth it!
