This cream really moisturizes your skin but it doesn't leave a greasy film and doesn't feel like it's just sitting on top of your skin it really feels like it absorbs directly into your skin. It has a lot of natural ingredients so it sort of has this earthy smell which I think is related to the fact that it has mushrooms in it. I'm really sensitive to smells so I actually really like the earthy smell over gross perfumes or like a candy smell that other skin creams add to their products. The cream feels like it melts into your skin it's really nice and lightweight. I broke out a little bit after my first use, but I don't think that was related to this cream. I've continued to use it and haven't had any skin conditions. I love that this is vegan and cruelty free because it really can cater to a lot of different people who have different needs and wants out of their beauty products. It makes me feel better to know that I'm using a product that was created more ethically. The jar is also glass which was a nice surprise since I would like to limit my use of plastics. If you have oily skin I would recommend you try something else because it makes my skin really oily and has caused a couple of breakouts here and there. It feels heavy on the skin to the point that it feels like I've rubbed oil on my face. It has a creamy consistency but is not too heavy, even down here in the south during the really hot months. It's lightweight, not greasy, has a very subtle scent, and isn't irritating to the skin. However, given that I have been using a solid routine of acids (bha, aha, vit c) for about 2.5 years now, I don't see much difference in my skin using this. I think I need an actual retinol if I wanted to see real improvement. But again, I think that has more to do with how much my skin can tolerate and that it needs something stronger rather than a fault with the product.
