Since I have fine, thin curls with a loose curl pattern, I've tried foams and mousses over the years, but I've always been disappointed. Devacurl, Shea Moisture, Not Your Mothers, Herbal Essences, anything I saw recommended online. Other curlies raved about these, but I could never see a difference unless I used them without gel. Unfortunately, without gel for definition and frizz control, I don't have curls, I have a poofball. This foam actually works under gel. I applied as recommended, foam everywhere, but especially on the roots, no gel for the first inch or so of my hair. I now get volume all over, with definition and frizz control, and none of the stringiness or hardness I've gotten from mousse in the past. My hair is soft, my curls are bouncy and I am happy. The only con I can find is some people may not like the smell. It's very earthy and a bit strong. I don't find that it lasts long, though. My husband says he can't smell it once it's dry.
I love most of CurlSmith's products, but this foam is disappointing. It comes out like runny, soapy water. No matter how much I shake the bottle, the product still dispenses like water. Every once in a blue moon, I get a slight puff of actual foam, but it's too much work for too little payoff. My Innersense foam, which has protein, works perfectly every time, so I will stick with that. I politely notified CurlSmith of the problem, but the rep. kind of blew me off twice and told me to keep shaking the bottle. After I left a negative review, she contacted me to say she would send a new pump, but it has been three weeks, and nothing has arrived. CurlSmith also did not publish the negative review, even though it was polite and acknowledged CurlSmith's general fabulousness. That, to me, is dishonest. A company that curates reviews might be seen as lacking integrity. I really wanted to love this foam, and when it actually comes out as foam (rare), it works, but it's inconsistent. Innersense has a smaller foam bottle, but the quality there is outstanding and is consistent. This experience has been off-putting. Even though I love many of CurlSmith's products and have literally spent hundreds of dollars buying them for family and friends, they will no longer be my first or second choice. Innersense and Bounce Curl will remain my go-to companies.

Gently towel dry hair, blow dry gently @medium heat focus on roots. Hold your hair so it doesn't fly around. When mostly dry take a small amount of foam & gently drag it down individual wave/frizz clusters. This will transform frizziness into waves

Does not weigh down my fine hair which goes between wavy to curly, depending on the length. Also helps tame the frizz on humid days! Love the pump instead of an aerosolized can, too!

I don't understand how this has good reviews. I applied a generous amount on dripping wet hair and half way through air drying it started getting frizzy with no hold what so ever. It at least felt soft up at the roots. I Will be retiring.

I really like this. I have tried many curl creams just like every curly girl. They all seemed heavy for me. I never thought of trying a mouse. This is light enough to leave my hair feeling good, but strong enough to hold my curl. Very nice.

This product smells so good in a natural way and less in an "added fragrance way". I love this entire purple line by Curlsmith because my 4b/4c hair drinks it up! It works well on top of braids and for my twist outs. I lucked out and got it on sale

I want to love this product but it's so watery feeling. The foam is too light and does not give my hair any volume or hold. I won't buy it again. Smells nice though.

I LOVE this foam! My curls can get easily weighed down by products, even sometimes the lightweight gels that I love, but this foam is great, my new go-to styler! It's super lightweight, which is great for my fine hair texture. I've also started diffusing my hair with this product, and the results are that my hair has so much volume, bounce, and shine when I do! And as a plus, it smells amazing! 10/10 would recommend, especially if you have fine hair and you find other products really heavy.

This foam really does give my hair great volume. It works well used in addition to gel. I use this first, turning my hair upside down and applying a couple of pumps. Then I apply gel mid-length and air dry or diffuse.

This mouse works wonders on my my C3 curls.. I live the combination of this and the soufflé give me amazing results . The hold of the mouse is perfect, there is no sticky residue, it's the most lightweight and lovely smelling product which leaves my curls so defined - This mouse is regularly repurchased!

Keeps a good bounce in your hair, and helps increase my hairs volume. Easy to apply, and lasts for a while.

Love this foam product. I put it onto my wet hair straight out of the shower. You only need a small amount each application so it lasts a long time.

I saw this on Tiktok and fell in love! I bought it and have used it with the soufflé gel, but the mousse is just too thin for my 2c hair. I prefer other brands that are affordable and form a way better cast.

I was skeptical that this would help as my fine hair just loves to lay flat, however after one use I noticed a significant increase in volume from my roots all the way down. It is not sticky or greasy and really refreshes my look on day two. It's been a nice addition to my routine without adding too much time, in fact, it has helped cut my time down by reviving my curls after a shower with just a scrunch.

My fine wavy hair absolutely loves this foam. It gives grit to my hair and really helps enhancing the curl.

I have wavy hair that is very fine and oily and gets weighed down very easily. I use this after washing and conditioning with a Curlsmith shampoo, the Post-Wash Calming Conditioner and the Weightless Air Dry Cream. The photo is second day hair. Without products my second day hair is usually very frizzy and undefined. With the Bouncy Strength Volume foam, I still have some frizz, but is definitely less. Also, I like to compromise a bit on frizz to get more volume. Sometimes I combine this with a Curlsmith gel and this reduces the frizz significantly. The advantage of using just the foam is that my hair dries much faster.

I was a bit sceptical because it felt watery, but wow it really helps to get volume in my hair. Very nice in combination with the in-shower style fixer

I swear I've tried half of curlsmith's styling products but even the featherlight cream was too sticky & greasy on my hair. Finally found the right one for me! It takes my curls from limp and stringy to wavy with ringlets! It's especially helpful in the winter when it's hard to get any texture out of my hair.

I don t like this mousse.
