I have suffered from SEVERE hormonal and cystic/nodular acne on top of having combination skin. I've been on countless medications to try and remedy my skin troubles over the years with no success. I have extremely sensitive skin also. But once I discovered philosophy, that changed. This cleaner combined with hope in a jar moisturizer has made my skin so healthy! The combination skin is not even a thing anymore. This cleanser work's amazingly and is so gentle, I take my eye makeup off with it too and it doesn't burn! If I forget to put my moisturizer on after I wash my face, I don't wake up to my face feeling totally dried out or anything. This is the most gentle and effective cleanser hands down and I will never use anything else. I buy the 32oz bottle and it lasts me over a year!!! And I use it everyday, and wash my face with it twice a day! I love this product!!!Most Helpful Critical ReviewHorrible Cleanser - VERY DryingI heard many people raving about this cleanser and thought I'd try it. I found the smell off putting - reminds me of a strong soap my grandmother uses or those you find in gas station bathrooms. I found it to be very harsh and it dried out my combo skin. It did not remove my make-up and my skin felt very tight and irritated and turned red. I much prefer CeraVe Foaming Cleanser which doesn't smell bad, removes make-up, has a moisturizing effect, and contains hyaluronic acid and ceramides.Reviewed by 6034 customersIts worth the price !5Kat from MaineI love this face wash. But I was hooked once I used it. I have very dry skin and eczema and used the CeraVe hydrating cleanser for the longest time before this. This cleanser actually makes me feel clean, I love the way it suds but it doesn't dry out my skin. This cleanser actually helped my acne, whereas I felt the CeraVe one did nothing for my acne. A little goes a long way, the 8oz bottle lasts me nearly a year. It's definitley worth the price, considering how long it lasts and how well it works. There is a mild scent, to me it smells very clean, but it's something to note if your skin is sensitive to fragrance. Honestly you don't need to double cleanse with this. It removes all makeup if you wipe it off with a soft washcloth then rinse with just water but I do double cleanse at night. I use Purity first then Tula. Purity never stings or burns my eyes which is a plus when removing eye make up and mascara. I can't even begin to count and list how many others i have tried but I always come right back to Purity. I wait for sales and buy the large size with pump. It lasts me a year. It doesn't take much to do it's job. A couple of years ago they changed the formula to remove parabens. If I had to say one thing I woyld change it would be the scent, not that it has much of one to begin with. I know most hate any fragrance but I actually enjoy a nice pleasant light fragrance. This has very little. Sort of a slight lemon oil scent but very light and no lingering. It does contain alcohol but is not drying at all for me.
