Per the description, I was expecting a light scrub and illumination. But it also did help with the red dots (cool kids say strawberry legs these days) and bumps on the back of my thighs, so it was a bonus. I've used the First Aid brand lotion for the bumps, which works great, but I'm impressed to find a cruelty-free product to do the same. I did use this BEFORE shaving with the my usual shave cream, usual razor, then followed up with the Jelly Booster Pigment Treatment. However, I did immediately notice my legs were 'brighter' and smoother after first use. (To save you the irritation, it is not bikini line friendly, but they have other products for that.) Overall, I would personally recommend to keep in mind it is a very light scrub to avoid being disappointed and wasting the product. BUT! It is great for brightening, treating those annoying bumps, and makes you a little more soft. Pros: great smell, little goes a long way for brightening/soothing effect, cruelty-free, for legs/arms Cons: not a hard scrub, dissolves quickly, still unsure to use a pre-shave or daily use... (brand is over whelming TBH)Most Helpful Critical ReviewOk, but I will not repurchaseThe only thing that I really like is the scent of this. It kind of makes me think of a treat from when I was a kid, maybe like one of Strawberry Shortcake's lil friends -- very nice! But the scrub itself is not great. It's hard; I need a spoon or spatula to get it out of the jar. Then once I start applying to my skin, the granules melt very easily and quickly, and I don't feel like I'm getting good scrubbing action. I felt I had to use quite a lot of the product, which makes it expensive. There is a veil of fragrant oil left behind when I rinse, which is also quite nice, but it's not as moisturizing as I need it to be. So, if you prefer gentle, light exfoliation followed by light, sweet-smelling moisture, this might be for you.
