I had always just used a mit for my hands and set a timer to rinse my hands a little bit earlier than my body. This brush was a game changer for me and now i have flawless gradient hands every time. I also tried using a random fluffy makeup brush to use with a different brand of tanner. The bristles of that one came out, so i grabbed this one again and it did great, yet again. I love that it holds up and helps me have natural looking hands.
