It has strong pigment & noticeably volumizes & lengthens my lashes. It has a good thick brush shape applicator and easy to hold wand length. It dries quickly and does not smear into my makeup. Most mascaras are undifferentiated but this one stands out for volumizing and smoothness. That is where it gets the one star. This is the smudgiest, smeariest mascara I have ever used. The wand is so fat and oddly shaped it is almost impossible to coat your lashes effectively without having a huge mess to clean from your eye lids and under eyes. Even after cleaning, within an hour or two, raccoon eyes from the smudging. I usually purchase Ilia but Ulta doesn't carry that. There is no Ulta in our area so if I get to one within my return time limit, it will be returned. The brush shape is great and my favorite for mascara application but the product itself clumps on the ends of the brush, it's hard to wipe off the excess and just ends up clumpy on your lashes. Also doesn't really seem to have much staying power. I put some on before a zoom meeting one morning and a couple of hours later, I found myself wondering if I actually had even put any on at all because it was all gone. I wouldn't pay full price for this, and honestly you can buy drug store brands that give you much better results.
