Being a skincare specialist as well as an MUA, I have tried so many products that make you feel like you're truly exfoliating. in fact it's the extra additives that you're seeing and feeling. However after reading ingredients I was still skeptical but more excited. This absolutely removes dead skin! After trying I washed my face again (that was already glowing!) VERY little "skin cells" came off. I had to know more. Then hands, feet, having others try. All had the same experience. First time awful sick full of dead skin. Second time, nothing or very little. Also let me mention that I haven't done a chemical peel in a couple of weeks. However I did exfoliate that very morning using one of my favorite high end brand products. Still, it got so much! This could be a huge game changer for many! Also...I wish it was large enough to use all over the body lol! You get a very generous amount for a face wash this good at this price. However using on arms, legs, back, feet, e.t.c... it would get pricey. but after I go further into the ingredients, I might try it lol! Highly recommend and impressed!!
How can anyone get over the scent of this long enough to write a positive review?! As soon as I spread the product in my hands I was overwhelmed with the smell of alcohol. I STILL gave it a try anyway. First, that's not exactly dead skin rolling off. Also it sticks to peach fuzz and it's a BEACH to remove all the little clumps! Still, left my face clean in some places- and filmy around my t zone? Don't think the pros outweigh the numerous cons, there's way better enzymes out there for this price. Sorry DHC, I love the cleansing oil but I hated this.

I received a sample of this in DHC's monthly catalogue. It appears to be a gommage-type exfoliating product. It's a clear gel that is supposed to roll off dead skin. I'm not sure if it does that, but it does ball up and then stubbornly stick to your face. Even after copious rinsing is still stuck - probably have to shave off

I will definitely be using this stuff weekly! So many of the gray balls fell off of my skin! And now, my skin feels soft, clean, not stripped and it's glowing! My pores even look smaller! I'm so excited to see what this stuff does over time!

I don't know whether to be happy or grossed out. Soooooo many little grayish balls fell from my skin. Like, SO MANY! My skin is now incredibly soft, my pores on my cheeks look smaller (maybe I didn't use enough on my nose because pores look the same there), it didn't completely strip my skin, and I'm glowing! It does seem to dry fast, so I do my face in areas rather than all at once. I will for sure use this stuff often!

I got this as a sample in a free gift set and was curious to try it. Before I had really clogged pores and bumps on my skin after the FIRST USE I saw results over night! Nothing has worked for me except this product i immediately added it to my cart

I've been using this for well over a year now and my skin thanks me! I haven't noticed a strong smell that other reviewers have mentioned, but I'm not particularly sensitive to scents. However, my mother is scent sensitive and she has used it without issue. I will say that it can snag on any peach fuzz or facial hair. I usually use a facial shaver (Finishing Touch) before I use this to eliminate snags. To those that wonder whether it's dead skin cells or just the product coming off, it's definitely skin cells! The product goes on clear but the little balls that roll off will often be tinged gray when there are a lot of dead skin cells coming off. If you use it a second time, the product will rub off white and a lot less will come off. My skin always ends up SO soft and smooth, though I definitely recommend finishing with toner and moisturizer. This is such a great alternative to physical scrubs and much gentler than harsher AHAs but still gets the job done!

One thing everyone questions after using this type of peeling gels: is it the gel itself that balls up, or is it your dead skin cells that you're seeing little balls of? Probably the former (gel itself). That said, in my experience, some dead skin cells must also ball up with it, as it always leaves the surface of my skin smoother than before. For a once a week application, it's a keeper for me.

this DHC moisture rich clarifying peel gel is so amazing. I've used it every other day, and notice a HUGE difference in my skin. I love that it's a non-gritty product because I'm a hard face scrubber by nature, so this gel is not tearing up my skin.

The most effective way to use this product is to apply this before showering. Getting all the rolled gel off requires lots of water. I like it better than similar products. It is a gentle, effective agent and there was no skin irritation.

Not sure how well it actually "removes" dead skin but I like how the little balls form when you use it, so it makes me feel like it's doing something.

Its a great exfoliater, only thing is I need to double cleanse because the product becomes difficult to remove. It will pill up and get stuck in my eyebrows. Gives a noticable glow after you use it. Totally recommend.

Not sure how this is moisture rich or has benefited anyone with dry skin because it is straight up alcohol. It smells and evaporates immediately just like alcohol. Doesn't leave your skin feeling hydrated or supple - It feels stripped. On the other hand, it does work at sloughing dead skin. So I guess as long as you tone and hydrat3 afterwards….

I'd give this 50 stars if I could. If you're super dry (like I am) and need to even out your skin, this will do all the heavy lifting for you. Your dead skin just rolls off your face, literally. It's kinda disgusting to see it all, but fascinating at the same time. I had no idea so much dead skin rested on my face. I have a sensitive nose and cannot say I thought it smelled strong, not like hand sanitizer, anyway. I'd say it smelled like nothing at all. If you shave your face, you'll find this leaves you radiant like Teletubby sun baby. I do, so I can't corroborate if it gets stuck in peach fuzz. I'll be buying this product until I pass away, which will hopefully be many many decades from now. I have never left a product review, but I just finished my first bottle and thought this would be useful info to any other dry skin people out there!

How can this be called moisture rich? It smells like straight rubbing alcohol and left my super oily skin very dry. I do not recommend. Especially for people with dry skin.

Never tried anything like it, it really exfoliates before your eyes but my skin feels so soft after!!!

I use this maybe once a week and it's amazing. No need for harsh physical exfoliants anymore. I use this on my face and my arms for my kp. The price is worth it considering the amount of product and the results that are delivered. I'm not sure what smell other reviewers are talking about as I do not smell anything strong. Don't knock it til you try it. Be the judge for yourself.

ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to the exfoliant i will use twice a week for the rest of my life. honestly I hope this improves my skin texture eventually but even if it doesn't it made my skin feel so smooth and soft like a baby face. and it has no fragrance so it doesn't bother me. i think it will make application of makeup much smoother, too. the dead skin pilling up and rinsing off was shocking. like i expected it, but it was still amazing

I wanted to like this product, and i kept using it in the hope I would finally love it. After 3 week it's really not doing nothing at all for me.

So far, every DHC product has worked out great for my acne prone skin! This clarifying peeling gel cleanses my skin and leaves it feeling soft! I love it!

Forget exfoliating! Get this! Especially if you have dry skin that still flakes with lotion on. I use it on my face, instantly rolled off a lot of dead skin. I was thinking it was the kind like that comes in a pedicure kit when you have to rub until the lotion dries up to get dead skin to roll off, but it's literally gel and starts rolling off when you wipe it on in one swipe fast of course keep wiping your face. My face isn't red and irritated like after a rough exfoliating sponge or face wash, super soft afterwards. Does not take much product.

wow this stuff is amazing!

i needed a change (or two, or three) in my skin care routine when i started to notice that no matter what, my skin was flaking off, even after exfoliation. my skin isn't even particularly dry, but pregnancy has me in a stage of dull, exhausted looking skin that needed a major improvement. this product has really helped with getting rid of the flaky layer(s) that have kept my skin from looking supple and alive. i use it about twice a week after i wash my face in the shower and have been super pleased. for the price you get a decent amount and i have never had a problem with the smell, in fact i can't even think of if it has an overwhelming smell. new favorite for sure.

It was satisfying and gross to see how well this product exfoliates and leaves behind little pills of sebum/dead skin! My skin felt so smooth after one use.

Used this right after a shower. My skin was slightly damp. Loved it. Made my skin feel smooth.

I got this as a sample when I bought La Mer moisturizer and used it a few times and then purchased it. It's gentle but effective. Left my skin very smooth. I used this before applying any serums, retinoid or final moisturizer.
