If you've seen the slugging trend all over social media, but the thought of slathering petroleum jelly all over your face is terrifying, you may be interested in trying this product. Personally, I am too nervous to put petroleum jelly on my face in fear of developing a serious case of clogged pores. My skin has never really liked a thicker more rich moisturizer at night. I was having sensitivity due to using retinol and finally found a moisturizer a while back that didn't sting my sensitized skin. It was a bit thicker than what I normally used, but really more of a regular cream consistency. It didn't burn or sting which I realized was most likely coming from alcohol or fragrance in other moisturizers which this one did not have. After two weeks of using it, I had never had breakouts and skin this textured even back in my teens. I found a thinner glycerin gel based formula moisturizer that didn't have fragrance or alcohol and have had no issues since then. I was nervous to try the belif Aqua Bomb Sleeping Mask because of this, but ended up being pleasantly surprised. This is no where near the greasy texture of petroleum jelly or even a rich moisturizer cream that I was expecting. It is really more of a thicker gel consistency. It doesn't dirty up your pillowcase like petroleum jelly would either. I didn't have any burning sensation when applying it, but I also wasn't overly sensitized at the time since that seems to happen only sporadically. I used the entire sample jar up for two weeks and didn't have clogged pores or major breakouts. I can't truthfully give a full review since I only had a sample and I had just increased my retinol dosage. I would say I maybe had a bit less flakey dry skin around my nose, but wasn't able to tell a major difference in the short amount of time that I was able to use it. If you are having issues with dehydrated skin, but are prone to breakouts and want something with a little extra moisture, this would be a good product to give a shot.Most Helpful Critical ReviewAvoid if you have a wheat allergy!I got this as a sample, so it did not have the ingredients listed. It felt nice and cool and pleasant going on until I started to itch and burn intensely and break out in hives. I hurried and washed it off and took a Benadryl, then went online to see if it happened to anyone else and saw a helpful review mention it had wheat in it. I really haven't come across wheat in skincare, so I wasn't really on the lookout for it. I just wanted to put another review in here about the wheat, in case anyone else is allergic. It might be okay without the wheat, but I'm hesitant to shell out money on any Belif products in case it was something other than the wheat. They are backed my science, and free of irritants, perfumes, and other shady ingredients. Their Aqua Bomb cream feels amazing on my skin, and is worth a purchase, especially for those with combination or oily skin. That's why I was stoked when I was chosen to try their Sleeping Mask. The mask promises lightweight, intense hydration, and it does just that. The texture is like a thick jelly, and it really does leave my skin dewy and fresh. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough moisture for my increasingly dry skin, as I found myself needed to layer an oil on top to keep the moisture in. I also hate to say it, but I'm pretty sure it caused some zits to pop up. Still, I totally recommend this. If you have combination skin that is not acne prone.
