The shadows are pigmented and the metallics and shimmers are SO sparkly, photos do not do it any justice what-so-ever. The first thing I noticed with opening this palette, aside from how shockingly beautiful it is, is that the closure is magnetic, and there is a mirror, which is something I LOVE. I think all palettes should come this way, to be honest. The second thing is how nice and study this palette feels while holding it. I know that isn't so important, but it's a nice touch. Now on to the eyeshadows. The mattes in this palette are easy to work with. Good Vibes, which is a smokey grey-purple, is my favorite color out of the entire palette. It's so unique that I have been wearing it on it's own with a little bit of mascara and it looks bomb. I adore this color so much and I know it's going to go FAST because I'll be wearing it often. The metallics and shimmers are SO buttery! A couple of the shades are so light that they need build up, but they are still super buttery and easy to apply. I really love the formula of most of them. There are a couple, such as Splash of Cran, No Sleep and BLD that need a little extra work, but the payoff is gorgeous! I really wish I could pick up the true colors of the shimmers on camera because some of them go above and beyond. The shade Bedazzled is one of the pretties shades i've ever seen before - A purple shimmer with blue, pink, and silver micro glitter.... it's a show stopper! This palette is great for events such as NYE with it's bold, yet beautiful shimmers and metallics. I have been loving this palette so much, and I cannot wait to create more looks with it.Most Helpful Critical ReviewLovely mix of shadow colorsFirst off, I received the Milani Gilded Rouge Eyeshadow Palette to review for my honest opinion. The packaging was eye-catching and the shadow colors inside looked amazing--- great mix of neutral, vibrant and glitter shades. My first time wearing them, I chose the more neutral colors because I was going for an understated look. They went on well and the coverage was good but when I got home after several hours, I could barely tell I had worn anything. This was disappointing. The next time, I used more vibrant colors and a bit of glitter. I really loved these! The colors were beautiful and they had staying power! They were definitely worth a purchase. Nevertheless, I am deducting a star because there was no brush. Yes, I know, no one has brushes in their shadows anymore because we should already own an entire mink line of fancy brushes, but I personally would at least like a cheap little applicator of some sort. Sometimes, I'm in a hurry and don't have time for the intricacies of detailed make-up. All in all, I really liked this palette. It had useful colors with great pigmentation.
