I ordered this wand because it had multiple heat settings which my old wand only had 1 setting and also because I have the flat iron made by Babyliss and it worked great. This wand is AMAZING!!! It curls my naturally fine hair and my extensions very well and I can change the setting depending which hair I am working with!! It also heats up very fast. The only con for this wand is that the "kick stand" or whatever you want to call it is very small so you have to be careful to make sure you don't place the heated part directly onto the resting place so it doesn't burn whatever you lay it on. In my case my wood dresser. This is a minor con and the pros heavily outweigh this flaw. I love this wand!!! I borrowed my sisters curling wand because mine broke. Her curling wand the heat wasnt even. It ended up severely burning my hand. I spent a friday night in emergency being treated for severe burns. 2 weeks later and my hand is still in rough shape. Currently waiting to see if it will heal enough on its own if i'll require skin grafts at the burn clinic. If you buy this product buy a heat glove but i recommend just buying a brand that comes with the heat glove. In the 5 times the curling wand has been used it has twice resulted in burns and scars or potential scares. I have naturally thick, wavy hair and I've always straightened it. I love the look of beachy, loose waves but I could never get a traditional curling iron to work for me. I decided on a whim one day to try a wand and this is the one I purchased (1 1/4). I cannot tell you how BEAUTIFUL this wand makes my hair. The curls are gorgeous and last for almost a week. It's pretty easy to use once you're used to it, just be careful with your fingers, it's easy to burn them. The ONLY downside is that the built in stand doesn't work at all. The hot end is too heavy and the hot part WILL rest on your table/counter and it will burn it or leave burnt marks on your wand.
