I have dermatomyositis- an auto immune condition that attacks the skin and more. I had some brownish, atrophied, scaly patches that looked almost like melasma from it all over my face and have been trying a million diff products for years to fade them and smooth the skin. This is it! Within a few weeks the patches have probably gotten about 30-40% lighter. The texture difference between the patches and healthy skin is almost nothing now. I can use regular makeup again! My drs told me the only thing that would fix my skin would be laser treatments, but that i couldn't do those until my DM is totally controlled which requires some very scary drugs I'm not keen on using, especially since my only symptoms are cosmetic. One note- the silicone in the formula makes this tricky to use w other products. spacing out application times as long as possible helps, and keeping the regimen simple. Thanks Deciem!
I did not notice that anyone had the same problems as me after using his vit. C suspension, so maybe you have an explanation to reaction that happens. After applying the vit C.suspension in the evening, the next morning my hands starts to produce strange smell (like rust) and starting to have orange color. If I continue with application in the following days, the smell and color will intensify. I try to dilute the formulation with moisturizer but it did not help. I stop using the product, but I am still wondering what is happening with my skin..

I only used this twice and my fa e broke out in tons of tiny blackheads. No thank you. I have acne prone skin and this made it worse.

Bought this yesterday and used it last night under Tretinoin.I love the matifying formlation of this product. The best is to spread it lightly but mostly to pat it in.It is a strong formulation which i absolutelly love.I have used the Ethylated version previously but since it's oily,it doesn't work well on my oily acne prone skin.I still continue to use that one on neck and chest and on hands.Works best there. But for face this silicone one is everything i need. Thank you The Ordinary for creating wonderful affordable products!

this is the version that is smooth - they both work but it's just a matter of what you like. they both make your skin look bright, but this is the one that is smooth to apply!

This product caused my makeup to completely slide off my face. No primer or setting spray helped. Not only can it not be used under makeup or other skincare products, it burns so badly.

Lots of comments about burning, orange hand etc. Has not been my experience and I have EXTREMELY soft and sensitive skin. I mix only a pee size with my moisturizer and only about 3 times a week. The results are shockingly amazing!! Fantastic product. I ONLY use The Ordinary on my face!

I have just finished this product after about 4 months. I used night and day. Although this made my skin look great, I did not like the application of it. I did have some mild burning but what bothered me the most is how it would pill up on my skin and build up on my fingers. I used it with water to avoid this but then it would cause my sunscreen to pill. This was very annoying. I guess I'd use it again for budget reasons.

I've just about finished this up, but it's not my favorite. It really stings when I apply it. It tolerable, but uncomfortable. (Irecently switched to the 2%Ascorbic Acid 8% + Alpha Arbutin 2%, and I'm loving it so far. There is zero stinging/tingling sensation and it feels nourishing on my skin.) The texture of the vitamin c suspension is lovely though. Similar texture to the azelaic acid suspension.

I bought this a couple of months ago however, I don't use it every day as I'm trying to make it last longer since it's only a 30 mL tube lol My skin is so much brighter and nicer looking now, whereas before it was just kind of blah. The texture is amazing… Almost silky. It feels so lovely on my skin and absorbs perfectly. My only issue is… Please make a bigger tube!!

Felt heavy on my skin. Stained my hands orange even after washing them immediately after application. Way better vitamin C products out there.

I use this 3 x a week, followed by a moisturizer, my skin has been noticably brighter and way less dull in just a week. I use a small amount and I actually am used to the tingling now and don't mind it. Recommended to wash hands after applying. I apply 30 minutes before going to bed at night to allow it to absorb.

I've used a variety of Vitamin C products. However, I never used a product that was in a suspension like this. I love it because I can mix a pea-sized amount with my face cream and it smooths on beautifully. I did not care for it on its own, as it was difficult to spread on the face. My face is so clear and bright and isn't irritated despite the tingling that I get after application. I use an antioxidant serum and a toner before application. Always use SPF, even if you're only driving or sitting by an office window! I know that this product makes you more susceptible to UV, so if you're not using SPF, then that may be contributing to your irritation, which I experienced redness after driving for an hour one day.

It's creamy, it sinks in. No white cast,I got my 4 days ago, already my pores look smaller, I'm mature skin +50, try many things, this seems to work. You need a very small amount is a high concentration 35%, which I wanted. But, I use a tiny dot only, after it I put some moisturizer with SPF and powder foundation. Read the instructions,it gives options . I do feel some tingling, I will keep using tiny amount until my skin get used to it. Is making a difference already.

I absolutely love this product and now use it 3 times a week. I apply it at night onto my cleaned and dried face two hours before bed. It goes on smoothly. And once I feel the overall tingling i top it off with Natural Moisturizing Factors + HA. I've had no problems with coloring of my pillow cases or hands. The only downside is that I keep touching my face because it is so incredibly smooth, which is saying a lot because I was getting the rough menopausal skin.

Purchased this product to try after running out of a previous serum. I love the price point, but was instantly confused upon first application. The product has the weirdest texture & burns SO bad upon application. The stinging doesn't last though. Ive been using this product for about a week and my palms and fingers are stained orange. Apparently that happens with vitamin c, so that isn't unique to this product. Overall, I wouldn't recommend. I've noticed no difference in my skin to justify the downsides

I haven't even been using this product a full week & I can see a difference in my skin. I have rosacea & had been using RX Azelaic acid 15% for over a year, but only saw slight improvement. The Ordinary Vit C goes on very smooth, but does tingle quite a bit so I've had to use the recommended method of diluting. I don't notice a weird smell on my face, but do on my hands. I will only be using this at night because it ruined 2 of my work shirts this week because it bleached out the collar of light colored tee-shirts. So, I would recommend for fast results in smoothing & brightening skin, but do be aware of tingling, smell, & ruining fabrics.

I was using this product a couple of months. I really liked the feeling on my skin and also my skin seemed nicer. What I did not like is, that it left yellowish marks on my white bed linen and on white pajamas. Also the smell is not really nice, it smells like rust.

I bought this to try as I needed a good vitamin c serum, but this isn't even close to that at all. The second I placed on it my face it was immediately gritty and is sandy like an exfoliator. I can't even rub it in my skin too much because it feels like it's going to exfoliate a couple layers of skin off, it's that intense. I don't get the tingly feeling like everyone else has described. In my opinion it's an unusable product. Why is it the texture of an insane exfoliator? Or I got a bad bottle. Regardless I'm never going to purchase again.

This product does not absorb in the skin and as a result it sits on top of your skin and oxidizes. My face turned orange every time I used it and it stained my pillow face even when applying a couple of hours before going to bed. The worst part is that the product seems to stain the face and, even after wash it off completely, my face looked tan. I recently purchased the Ethylated Ascorbic Acid 15% Solution and I don't have the same sort of issues. Can't wait to see the long term results of a vitamin C serum.
