The product is quite good but I find the size of the bottle quite inappropriate regarding its PAO of just 3 months, it's impossible to use even a third of the bottle with regular use before it spoils. Please consider a smaller packaging. DECIEM Response: Thanks so much for your review and feedback regarding PAO and product size. We will be highlighting this our team to look into.
This should be in bold, really. Maybe with a graphic element. Because I completely missed it until reading a recient marketing email.

I use this on my arms at night. It's helping reduce the crepiness of my skin. I follow with a good moisturizer once the retinol has dried.

My skin lovesss this stuff. I know squalene is hit or miss with some people but it works great for me (dry/combination with dark spots) Really good for its pricepoint. I may be ready to move on for a stronger rentinol but will always love this stuff because of how nice it was on my sensitive skin

I have sensitive eczema and acne prone skin and this serum has cleared my acne without causing me any flare ups. sadly, it does expire fairly quickly

I like this product allot. Thank God I read review. I would have missed the part to refrigerate it. It is oily but a little goes a long way. I have notice some improvement around the forehead area. Will continue using it

This is an excellent product for my 48 year old skin! I apply it right after I wash and use my hyaluronic acid, then use my night cream. It feels amazing and I feel it keeps moisture locked in. 10/10

I began using this paired with the glycolic acid solution alternating days between each product and I broke out a bit so I stopped using the glycolic acid and used the retinol for 6 wks. I began seeing visibly brighter skin but as my entire face brightened so did my marks. Now I'm using it as a spot treatment instead. I also use on my bikini line after exfoliating. For reference I professionally wax and used to suffer from ingrowns. So far, so good. Consistency is key. Follow the directions.

I general have oily skin so I use face wash specifically for oily skin and I use a moisturizer that is not heavy. I have been using vitamin C serums for the longest just because I have been scared to venture out. I decided to buy a couple different serums from The Ordinary and this is the first one I am using. I use this TWICE a day despite what the directions say. My skin is very very smooth now and I notice my blemishes slowly fading away. This serum is very greasy HOWEVER you do not need more than 3 drops anyways. I love this product and will most likely use it again.

I have used retinol for a number of years and wanted to try this one. I was really surprised at how cheap it was. At first I though oh no, this is not a serum it's an oil! How on earth is my night cream going to penitrate this? I was also worried as my skin is really oily . But wow! I am so impressed I use a small amount every night then apply my night cream, about an hour later. My skin is so much smoother and more supple. It does feel greasy going onto the skin. But it does not make my skin oily or shiny! In fact during the day it has been less oily. My wrinkles around my eyes are fading. I spend a huge amount of money on skin care usually, but I am going to start slowly swapping things to this brand. I have been so impressed with this retinol. Better than the premium brands!

although I havent had any adverse affects, this product contains BHT (butylated hydroxytoluene) which is a hazardous chemicma that has demonstrated endocrine disruptive effects and effects sex hormones and may affect fertility and development. It may be working for you, but in the long run it'll have devastating effects on the body. Good molecules is a good alternative.

I bought this despite the negative reviews of ppl saying it broke them out. I don't have sensitive skin, but wanted to start incorporating retinol into my skincare for anti-aging and acne scars. I've used retinols before without issue, but after ONE use I had zits all over. it was NOT 'purging'. won't be using a second time.

Previously I was using a retinol serum by Olay that was okay-ish with treating acne scars along with preventing new breakouts but I felt like there had to be a better product somewhere else...That's where this serum steps in! Since I am not exactly a stranger with retinol I decided the .5% would probably be safe formulation for me to try and I am so glad I did :) I have INSANELY oily skin but after waking up the next day after using this product my skin was almost completely matte but still felt so hydrated and soft. I also have not had a single breakout since using this serum and overall my skin just looks better! And it has only been 3 days since opening the bottle so I can't wait to see how my skin looks long term. (Hopefully this can help with my black/whiteheads too) With all that being said...Squalane is an excellent skincare ingredient for those who have oily skin and don't let anyone tell you otherwise. The product might feel oily upon initial application but it will dry down. Also if you have never tried retinol before and you experience burning or redness that does not mean there is something wrong with the product...that is just a common side effect of retinol so do your research before purchasing! Thank you to The Ordinary for creating my new favorite skincare product :)

i appreciate this retinol for how it has helped my skin over time, but like many of this brands products, the packaging is a miss for me. can barely unscrew it to use due to the build-up on the ridges of the twist/dropper bottle. quick drying things are great, but its.....a real struggle.

When I first used this product, I loved it. I would put it on during my night time face routine and I would notice in the morning, my face was covered in dry flakey skin, especially in my T-zone. Then around my forehead and chin area, I would break out. If you have dry, sensitive skin, I would recommend one of The Ordinary's water based products. Those work wonders for my skin!

Please please launch a smaller size (10 ml) for all retinoids. Not a single one with a longer shelf life! It's horrible waste. Please

I swear to god i've never used a retinol thats worked this well. in the last i have used cera ve retinols which i liked but never really cleared up my skin significantly. THIS PRODUCT HOWEVER, i notice how healthy my skin looks every night when i put it on. Im still definitely going through the purging period, something i hadn't experienced with retinol, but to me that makes me think its working. Literally haven't hd any breakouts and the only issue i've had with the purging has been flaking skim when i apply it. Once im done rubbing the retinol in and getting all the dead skin off my face looks beand new. Will be recommending this to everyone i know!!

After a disastrous experience with ROC's Retinol night treatment some time back which came been highly raved about online, I decided to give The Ordinary's a shot. Although touted as being more irritating than the Granactive Retinoid versions from Deciem, I actually found it to be the complete opposite. Granactive makes my face break out in hives, and that's despite only using once a week for the first 2 weeks and gradually increasing to every 3rd night. I did this for 5 weeks. I never got beyond that, as the itchy redness appearing in the middle of an important work meeting was my last straw with it. For some reason my skin just wouldn't adjust. I then got hold of the Retinol 0.5% and although the hives didn't appear, the acne did! I thought it was just my skin purging but no matter how much I spaced usage out, I would still get them, especially on my forehead and cheeks. As both versions are 'Squalane'-based I'm starting to wonder whether it's Squalane and not Retinol itself that my face is reacting to? Luckily I found good use for it on my KP - which I started with the full 1% and now that that's finished I'm using the 0.5% to maintain results. It hasn't gone, KP isn't a condition you can permanently get rid of unfortunately, but it helps keep it less noticeable and my arms and thighs: where I have it the worst, are much smoother. Now all I need to find is a Retinol that works with, and not against: my face! -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1. Hair Loss Treatment: Divine Herbal Hair Oil < 2. Eye Cream: Clinique All about eyes < 3. Lip Gloss: Clarins Lip Comfort Oil < 4. Makeup Remover: Lancome Bi Facil < 5. Pigmentation + Anti-Aging Serum: Divine Herbal Facial Treatment Serum < 6. Eyeliner: Ulta Beauty Gel Eyeliner Pencil < 7. Moisturizer: 'Lush' – Enzymion

i havent used this for long, but i like it so far. its definitely a little oiler than expected, so i only use a little bit at a time. it makes my skin glow in the short-term, & i'm hoping it has good long-term effects, too! also, it is very strong, so don't use this every day if your skin isn't used to retinol bc then it will burn.

I have a question. I have been using the product for some time now but I don't know how long exactly. I believe it's somewhere close to 3 months. Yesterday I have noticed that it changed the structure (I have been storing it in the fridge the whole time) - it was translucent, now it's cloudy. Does it mean that it's gone bad? I used it yesterday and haven't noticed anything strange or bad.

I have been using this for about a month. I apply at night after cleansing, and I simply use toner and a thick PM moisturizer that doesn't have any clashing ingredients. It feels slightly oily when you are applying it. I have definitely seen improvements with my skin, and I luckily have not had any adverse reactions. Just make sure you educate yourself and read the label, and I would totally recommend it!

Great price, but way too oily especially if you have oily skin already.

I don't know why I had an allergic reaction. I bought this before and never had a reaction. But this time my eyelids were swollen and no, I didn't put anything serum near my eye. After a few days, my eyelids got really dry and crusty. Eeewww. Sadly, I can't use this any longer.
