For real, I read product reviews before I go to sleep at night. Some people read a book, I read reviews; that's just the way I roll. This all said, I had to finally break the chain and write about this dry shampoo because it literally changed my hair. I've tried them all, and I thought the Living Proof PhD was going to be my winner, but boy were the tables turned on me. I watched Jamie Genevieve promo this in one of her latest videos and I was immediately interested because we'd just gotten shipment of IGK. Without any hesitation I picked this up and I. Was. FLOORED. I have dark rooted balayage hair. My hair is dry yet oily at the root (always) as well as fine. First of all, this dry shampoo leaves NO WHITE RESIDUE. It literally does clean my hair and give it volume. I use small amounts and it goes such a long way. For a test, I tried to see how long it would extend the time between washes. Seven days later and my hair still was manageable, not crusty and gross like some leave my hair feeling after a few days. Trust me when I say nothing else can do what this product does. If there is any hair product you MUST pick up, it's this. Do it now. Run.Most Helpful Critical ReviewMade my hair color fadeI really love how this cleans greasy hair but it's definitely not color safe. I've used it on my hot pink dyed hair (professionally done with Pulp Riot dye) and within a few days the color has faded. I go about 5-7 days between washes and use color safe shampoo on wash days as well as color deposit conditioner. I can see my hot pink fading between days 3-7 when using this dry shampoo. It really is disappointing because it's the only dry shampoo that really leaves my hair feeling clean after using. I work 4-5 12hr shifts a week so washing my hair daily isn't always an option nor is it healthy for it. This dry shampoo has been a lifesaver! It absorbs all the oil, makes my hair look and smell clean, doesn't leave white residue on my dark hair and allows me to go at least 3 days or more without washing my hair. I highly recommend this dry shampoo! Lastly, my hair is color treated and this dry shampoo has not caused any fading to or issues with my color. Keep in mind, this is a Charcoal dry shampoo before purchasing. Charcoal is great for detoxifying and pulling impurities out. If you have a dry scalp I wouldn't reccomend. I love this stuff and when I try a different brand of dry shampoo, I miss this one, and immediately repurchase. My hair doesn't feel like straw, but the smell is strong, so I can understand how that could be a turnoff. I spray my hair in sections let it dry for a minute and then flip my hair and massage it in. The finish is so powdery and soft (unlike those ones that make your scalp feel sandy) ,and the volume is amazing (coming from someone with flat hair.) The smell isn't strong and it's not my favorite but definitely doesn't give me a headache. If you're hair is that oily then you're better off washing it. Over use of any dry shampoo would leave to dry, damaged hair. It's literally stripping all the good oils.
