I have been getting highlights/balayage for around 11 years now and I love how my hair looks when I leave the salon, that really great icy blonde, however, my hair is prone to getting brassy very quick meaning I am constantly using purple shampoos to get my hair back the icy blond I love. I saw this and decided to give it a try and now I cannot imagine not always using this in my hair routine. I used this mask after using the Redkin purple shampoo and WOW my hair looks as though I just left the salon after getting a professional tone. I put the mask on and then brushed it out using my wet brush, I then left it on for around 5 minutes before getting out of the shower to blow dry my hair with the mask on for another 5 minutes (the bottle says to leave the mask on for 2-3 minutes, or for a deeper penetration to leave it on for 10 minutes and apply heat) due to my hair being very porous I chose to only use heat for 5 minutes, I then washed it out and styled as usual and I'm in love. My hair is soft, manageable, and moisturized after using this mask and all that unwanted brassiness/yellowness is gone! I'll definitely be rebuying when I run out.Most Helpful Critical ReviewMeh nothing specialSo I really enjoy the original It's a 10 miracle hair mask (my fav hair mask by far) so I was excited to try this for my newly bleached blonde hair. It did serve part of it's purpose to rid my strands of brassiness, but it left my hair pretty dry even after leaving it in for 10+ minutes. Not to mention it was difficult to get the product spread through the rest of my hair and really weighed it down (i try to limit how much I put at my roots because I have fine hair.) I was just so disappointed in how my hair felt after because this brand's products usually leaves my strands silky smooth, soft, and easy to style. My roots looked very brassy since I didn't lift them light enough but this hair mask did serious toning. I believe it can tone level 8 deep yellow and orange tones with how blue this hair mask is. I can only leave it in my hair for 1-2 minutes. The instructions say 2-3 but my hair is a level 9 and if I'm not careful. It tints it blue. But the brightness is incredible. I was struggling with uneven blonde hair where it's a level 8 in some places and it toned it almost back to how the toner did. Will reapply to all the uneven areas and see if it helps. I can see this working with orange first time bleached blondes because of how deeply blue violet the clay mask is. Wish I found this when I was struggling to lift my hair to a level 9 initially. Loved them. About 1 or so years ago, the formula changed. Which I now know is the addition of argon oil and keratin s. People! Both of these turn blonde tones organey! Now I have to use "for blondes" (the whole regime; shampoo, cond, and leave in.) I'm a full week into the products and the brassy is going away. The itchy head has stopped and I'm starting to be normal again. However, the mask is not as nourish ing as the regular. You will definitely have to use the leave in.
