I tend to prefer stains / natural cherry kissed lips that look hydrated over a full matte look. The formula applies on smoothly and feels really hydrating. The color itself is like raspberry/cherry and looks like you've been eating a popsicle. At first it applies really intensely and I was worried it was going to be a full on vinyl gloss situation, but it dries down like a stain and doesn't dry out the lips. Sometimes I'll apply just in the center and spread with my finger for an even more natural look. The lipliner pencils are my fave liners and I use them daily. That said, I was extremely excited to purchase this latest product because I am a lip products junkie and am always looking for lipcolors that last a long time. Sadly, while I loved how this product applied, and was extremely happy with my color choice, Smoochy, a beautiful peachy shade, the wear time was just not there for me, nor did the product leave behind any sort of stain on my lips. It is hands down the first and best actual lip staining lip product I have ever used! I have very thin lips… if I over line them with lip liner and regular lipstick eventually it wipes off and ends up looking like I have a lip liner mustache. You have to use this product the correct way in order to love it as much as I do.. it is a stain. It has to be left on for a little bit BEFORE you blot it. Let the stain do it's thing and set in a little while you put on mascara or something. I have found that the longer I leave it on with it looking moist and glossy before I blot it down the better the staining power. I over line my lip with this stain and it stays put. I mean stays put thorough wearing a mask, drinking through a straw, wiping it with hands, I even used it all summer when I went to the beach because I wanted to have an upper lip and it stayed on! Think of it like a waterproof mascara. You need to allow it to dry before you can go smudging it or wiping your eyes. You can't just slap it on and expect it not to run or smudge if it hasn't dried…..this lip stain is the same. Put it on, go ahead and over line your upper lip a little, let it set and dry a little, THEN lightly tap it with a tissue and follow that by tapping around the edge of your lip lightly with your finger. I PROMISE you this will give you the lasting stain effect while also looking natural and not like a drawn on line. I BEG YOI BUXOM, PLEASE DO NOT DISCONTINUE THIS PRODUCT!!!
