It held a full size nail file. I lost that one somehow and searched for another online at that company's website, but it's no longer available. I was happy to find that Ulta had one! Although the one I got there is a more compact size, I was happy to find a way to carry a nail file in my purse without scratching up other items in my purse. It's a little hard to open — but at least you know it's securely closed when in your purse. I love that the file has the same grit on both sides, just rough enough to smooth your nail edges. The file itself has a cute heart pattern on both sides and is about 5 1/8" long. The case itself is about 5 3/4" long. Not full sized, but a nice size for when you're on the go and need to do a quick touch up on a broken or chipped nail. This is also a nice little gift for friends as well!Most Helpful Critical ReviewHow about replacement nail files that fit this case?I LOVED the little case with the smaller file. Trouble is, when the file wears down, there are no replacement files available at ULTA that will fit in the case. You have to buy another case and file. Well, after looking for a few months, I found another store (hint: world's largest retailer) that just started carrying a pack of six files (in various colors and patterns) that will fit the Ulta case. Had my case with me to put against the file in the package to be sure -- AND this particular store also sells a case as well. You might have to look a while if it happens to be sold out.
