My husband and I have acne where we get little pumps under our skin and pimples. He went to get a facial and the facialist recommended Dermalogica products for his acne-sensitive skin. He brought the whole set home. I read the ingredients, tried them, and stole the products from him. I have been doing some research as to why I still have adult acne at the age of 38. I eat healthy (no greasy foods, a little-bit of processed foods, a little protein or diary, eat mostly vegetables and fruits), yet I still get them. I discovered that a lot of the skin care products out there have lanolin-based ingredients, oil-based ingredients that clogs the pores (such as coconut oil or cocoa butter), and natural ingredients (such as algae extract) that clogs pores and that's why we still get black heads, white heats, bumps underneath the skin, and pimples later in life. I looked at the back of my skin care products once I learned about this and discovered that I have been using products that contain these pore clogging ingredients. (I would name some of these products but I don't think I can talk about other companies on this review.) I have been reading labels and searching for skin care products that do not promote clogging of the pores and the Dermalogica products I looked at didn't have these pore clogging ingredients. Even if the products says for oil skin or non-comedogenic or for sensitive skin, they still have some of these pore clogging ingredients. There is no government agency that oversees this so you can't trust these claims. You have to read the ingredients list. For my review on the antioxidant hydramist, I love it. I read the label for this product and even though it contains oils in the ingredient's list, they weren't the oils that clog pores. You will love how much more your skin is hydrated and it will look dewy too, not oily. Tip: I also use the Multi-Active Toner. Both the Antioxidant Hydramist and Multi-Active Toner works great. I would spray it before I put on my moisturizer. However, if I plan on wearing foundation, I discovered that if you spray some after applying the foundation or dusting powder, it will set the make-up a lot better than powder alone and your skin will look hydrated and dewy. By spraying after applying foundation or if you plan on using powder, spraying after putting on powder, the make-up lasts all day and doesn't rub off. Also, when I apply foundation/powder, the make-up makes my laugh lines and creases around my eyes more noticeable. Another benefit of the spray if you put it on after the foundation/powder and as needed during the day, the skin is hydrated and the make-up doesn't make the laugh lines and creases around the eyes more noticeable.
I have combination skin, and my chin and cheeks get so dry (especially in the winter) to the point they get flaky, red, and extremely sensitive. One of my beauty-product-junkie friends recommended that I spritz this under my moisturizer(s). My sensitive skin is very irritable because it's so dry, and this product made my whole face burn and turn blotchy. It didn't even moisturize enough for the experience to be worth it. I started using the Dermalogica Skin Hydrating Booster to layer under a heavy-duty moisturizer (Intensive Moisture Balance) instead, and I find it much more effective and less irritating on my skin. It costs more than this mist, but the results I've seen is definitely worth it. If you have extremely dry and sensitive skin, I would not recommend the HydraMist at all.

I was a little hesitant to try this product since it didnt have any acne fighting ingredients but it actually works incredibly! I feel like it absorbs super easily into the skin and i never feel greasy afterwards. The lavender flower really helps with any redness from my breakouts and gives it a wonderful light fragrance that reminds me of a spa. This is my 4th tube of the product and this time im going to get the value size! If you're an acne prone/oily girly like me give this one a try!

This is the only product (moisturizer) I have ever tried (I'm 56) that doesn't break me out. I use after the ultra calming cleanser and just still can't believe I found something for my skin - finally. I just use a small amount so it goes a long way. Great for sensitive skin.

originally I was using the skin smoothing cream by dermalogica but then I found out about active moist. and as an oily combo skin type with acne prone skin I wanted something oil free. my old moisturizer was causing me to break out because of all the oils in there. but this one literally feels amazing. it's cooling and refreshing on my skin. it's lightweight and moisturizing. 10/1]

Used this product for years. It has gone up considerably in the last 3. Good product should be able to use coupons on this and anything in store Ulta needs to step it up.

Love this moisturizer! A little does go along way. I put this on two times a day and my 3.4 ounce has lasted me at least six months! Great brand to support as well.

I bought this when I was going to Arizona for a while. It's the perfect size to carry in your purse for a quick spritz when your skin is feeling dry or parched. Left my skin feeling soft and refreshed. It would be awesome if the company would add some SPF in it though because everytime I used it, I wondered if it affected the effectiveness of the SPF on my face.

I will first say that I bought this on accident and intended to buy the Ultra Calming mist and accidentally picked this up instead. I used it and didn't realize until after the fact. I love Dermalogica and was willing to try it. The smell is ok, and the texture is ok. I do see a nice glow on my skin when I use it, especially under makeup. What I'm missing is the refreshing, cool feeling of a mist like the other one gives you - it's a mix of a literally coolness with hydration that really soaks into the skin. This mist sorta does it but it's just different. I like it enough to keep it and finish it, but will return to using the correct one when I'm done.

I love this product. On my third bottle now and will be repurchasing. I'm 40 with combo skin. I like how fine the most is. It doesn't really have a smell and it helps my face get hydration while adding antioxidants. I spray it on my face after cleansing before serums.

My full routine for face skin care is by dermalogica. I have very oil skin and acne scars from youth age . I start with the pre cleanse and this stuff is liquid gold . It balanced the oil control by it being made with some sort of oils . I thought by adding oil it would be bad but no it tells your face not to produce overload of oil bc of the poor other products that strip you face of all oils which is bad . Then use clay black face cleanse follow by toner and then eye cream and this moisturizer. Buy buybuy

I've had a bump on my face for over a year and this has just melted it away. Is that even possible?

I wanted this to work so badly because it has great supportive ingredients for my mid-30s skin, but I could not tolerate the scent, especially being so close to my nose. One spray was adequate coverage for my whole face, but after letting it dry and going about my day, the smell started giving me a headache and I had to re-wash and redo my entire morning skincare routine to get the smell off. I am a longtime Dermalogica user of 16+ years and appreciate that they don't use added fragrance, but I can't understand why Cloves are added to all the Age Smart products. It's literally an elderly woman's scent. We're trying to be more youthful by using the anti-aging products, not become our grandmas!

If you have oily skin, this is not the product for you. For sure it was not for me. I have to return this. My face was like an oil slick within an hour of putting it on.

I use this product right after rinsing and drying my face. It just sets everything in place and does not let creams or other products bleed into your eyes. I used this on nephews before putting on their sunscreen. They had complained about sunscreen getting their eyes. This was the magic that stopped it.

My skin has never been more hydrated. I will continue using this product..

This stuff is amazing. I spritz it on morning and night right after cleansing and it gives me that much needed immediate hydration. It is such an easy product to incorporate into your routine. After spraying I wait a minute then complete the rest of my skin care. I have very sensitive, oily and acne prone skin and this doesn't irritate or break me out. I feel hydrated, toned and refreshed. I just love it!

This is seriously one of the best products ever. I tend to have very oily skin, and this is perfect for my skin. Truly the best.

I was drawn to 'Active Moist' due to its many fantastic plant-derived ingredients. My first attempt at applying it was on a morning. Bad idea! I found it did not sink into my skin at all and just sat there, making any sunblock applied over it an impossible task, let alone makeup. I found this unusual as the product is supposed to be oil-free. Thinking I had perhaps applied too much product, I removed it with a makeup wipe and applied even less this time around, but the effect was the same, albeit less pronounced. The next time I applied it was on an evening, at the end of my cleansing routine. This for me was more ideal as I had no other products to apply over this and could let it sink in (or so I thought) overnight. Unfortunately it didn't really sink in. What I liked about Active Moist the most, apart from ingredients, was the fact that it did not cause any adverse reactions - breakout, itchiness etc. It hydrated fairly well too, but I feel a lot more could be done to improve the formulation so that it doesn't sit on the skin and absorbs more easily. -> My 'Ulta Beauty Top 7 must-have list' (My 7 favorite beauty products of all time, focusing mainly on my purchases at Ulta) < - < 1.
