Initially I read it to be a veil so I never would use this powder to 'Set' anything! I only use it after everything is done and then I lightly dip my big powder brush one time, and swirl and bounce it softly in the cap. I swish it across my tzone and oily areas. It softens my look or harsh lines and ties everything together for a matte finish. Work, sweating, walking na k and forth all day. I stay looking as if I just applied everything....i wiuld use as a setting powder unless emergency moments
I have used Orginal Mineral Veil for 15 years now, the last time I went to purchase, the color changed. It was a pale translucent powder, which worked for me no matter how pale or tan I was. It is now a peach orange color, which DOES NOT blend with fair skin. My daughter is a pale redhead and this made her skin look orange, looked like she had on cheap makeup! Very disappointed in the changing of this formula! There already are tinted variations, for darker skin. What about those with very pale skin, Bare Minerals???

Mineral Veil is a perfect product to finish my face. It is this product, even more then foundation, that leaves your face with the "airbrushed" look. If I'm rushing I can use this instead of foundation and although it does not have the coverage of foundation it leaves you face with an overall smooth appearance

I have been using this for many, many years. I like to spray a facial mist to keep it from looking too "powdery" on my mature skin. It keeps getting more expensive, but for now I'll keep buying.

to start off i have very oily skin and this powder really does keep my oil away for moet of the day! without reapplying! gives my skin a soft blur effect. cons are that it can slightly set into creases under my eyes but i dont mind it. also definitely dont get much product for the price and i wish they had a slightly more translucent shade b/c it has quite a tint if youre pale.

I've been using the Mineral Veil since I was an undergraduate two decades ago. I have tried some different finishing powders, but they look cakey and fake, especially once you start sweating. So this is my go-to. It's translucent, it sets whatever product you're wearing underneath, but the best part is that after a few minutes Mineral Veil essentially disappears into your skin. You have a nice finished look, but it looks like real skin that happens to not shine but maybe glow? Is that a good word. I will always go for the translucent original. Slightly pricey, but worth it.

I've never had a setting powder do this, but it looks orange when it goes on my skin. I put it wherever I used concealer and it makes everything look darker and actually accentuates dark spots and my melasma.

I love this powder! It makes my skin look flawless with or without makeup on and it makes my pores look smaller. I have oily skin and this does the trick to keep the shine at bay for awhile. I only have to do one touch up throughout the day, if that.

I am so glad I found this powder. I was looking for a talc free option for setting powder. I have been more conscious of what I'm putting on my skin as I get older. I used this in combination with the bare minerals 24 hour liquid foundation and it was amazing. My foundation stayed put and didn't transfer at all. Best part is that this brand lets my skin breathe and provides protection against the sun.

I was buying it when it was a nice neutral shimmer. Now it's a super illuminating pinkish-silver. They shouldn't have changed it :(

Love it!

I liked it but it's too shiny. I'm not the type to have shimmer all over my face. I would rather have the original translucent powder.

Works great!

I haven't used this in years but I came back across it and I fell in love again. I use it under eye for that brightening look or all over for that healthy "glow". It's perfect. I'm oily & have no issues.

I've been using the Original Mineral Veil for over a decade now, to set the concealer I use to cover my dark under eye circles. It worked beautifully, so imagine my shock when I opened my latest purchase and discovered what looked like glitter in the powder, and when I used it as usual, the glittery effect actually HIGHLIGHTED the dark circles. It's completely useless to me. You can see the shimmer in the photo I attached but it's even more shimmery in real life. I was irritated because I thought they had changed the product, but now I realize they created a new product, the Illuminating Mineral Veil, and they didn't bother to alter the top of the container so that it says "Illuminating". I grabbed this product accidentally because the lid says "Original Mineral Veil". The company should have created different lids for the different products to avoid confusion. So if you're looking for something with shimmer, this is probably great, but for the love of god don't use it under your eyes.

I really love this powder! "Illuminating" is the perfect description; it glows without being glittery. I find that the matte texture of most setting powders look very flat and unnatural on me. This power gives a "finished" look and a healthy glow. I would recommend to anyone who prefers a healthy, glowing look.

Gives a nice glow but keeps my oily skin from looking shiny. Helps hold my foundation all day and blurs my fine lines. I also love the clean ingredients and that its noncomedogenic. Great for my acne prone skin. I've purchased this several times and will continue to use again and again.

MineralVale Finishing powder is an absolute necessity to complete your look for the entire day. I buy the tinted and it helps blend and set my makeup to give a soft, finished look. Sometimes I see other women who have not finished their makeup and know they could look so much prettier if they had applied Mineral Vale Finishing powder. I use it on my eyeshadow too. For me, the translucent is too pale but the tinted gives a soft and brighter pink to my skin. I'm 73.

I have been using BareMinerals since 2004, almost 20 years. This finishing powder, with a slight tint, is something I cannot be without. It sets my makeup for the entire day and gives a blended and soft finish. Use it as the last thing before you walk out the door for your day. I look at other women's makeup application and think, "if she only knew about finishing her make-up application with BareMinerals Mineral Vail; it would look so much nicer."

This is a wonderful translucent setting powder. It is light and doesn't accentuate facial lines. It is my very favorite!!

I have been using this product for years. Light finishing coverage to use alone or with the Bare Minerals base.

Unfortunately I really wanted to like this, but I'll be returning. On initial application, it sets everything completely matte and felt very velvety on the skin. I always spray my morphs setting spray to really melt everything into the skin. I don't wear foundation only concealer in some places and then my cream blush and cream bronzer for a more natural look. This powder made everything separate WEIRD AND UGLY a few hours later but still felt super matte and velvety it's a weird phenomenon because it's winter I'm not getting oily at all. And it clings reeeaasllllyyyy bad to texture/dry patches which is weird because my skin has never been so smooth in my life. I'll be returning but I still love Bareminerals. It just didn't work for my skin specifically.

But a little too much color for me to use as a setting powder. Everyday blur powder for natural look yes.
