I had previously purchased the Red Carpet Portable LED Light and had it for about two years before it broke/stopped working/gave up on life. I purchased this light since it plugged in and advertised much quicker drying time. Boy, does it do that! With the portable light, it would take me about 2-3 minutes to cure each coat of polish and with this light, only 45 seconds for each coat. It's wonderful! I love how the light automatically turns off after 45 seconds so I no longer have to set timers on my phone (ha!). I could definitely notice after doing my nails once that this light not only worked much more efficiently than the portable light, but my nails seemed stronger and the polish set much better. I would say if you are in between buying the portable and this light, don't waste your money on the portable light. This light is super small, your fingers fit comfortably, it's cute and small enough to travel with.
I hoped this would be a good backup for my current 36 watt tunnel-style lamp. I especially wanted it to do gel polish toes. I have Shellac and Gelish / Red Carpet Manicure products. Unfortunately, I discovered that this didn't have enough light reflecting to cure the sides and tips of the nails properly. There aren't enough LEDs to hit all the nail surfaces evenly, and they're all in the top, so there's not enough curing on the side of the pinky or the thumb. Also, with no reflective bottom, the tips of the nails where you "wrap the tip" with your product wasn't fully cured without holding the hand in upside down, which I never have to do with my 36 watt lamp unless I'm doing actual gel nails rather than just gel polish.
For personal use, I could make sure I rock my fingers to the side to make sure I don't have an uncured side on my little finger or thumb, but I can't easily have a client do that. Also, too many toes have sideways-facing toenails for me to trust this lamp to cure all around. I returned it today and will trust to my current lamp that cures on all angles. If you want to use this, just make sure you rock your fingers from side to side so the entire nail surface cures. This costs way less than other TRULY professional LED gel curing lamps.

Bought with the nail products and still spent more than an hour to dry.
2 pretty thumbs up from MI
I've been using a UV lamp for quite awhile and have just dealt with the couple 3 min cycles it takes for EACH coat. Just ordered this light and it completely cured 3 different brand gel polishes in the 45 sec cycle...no aggravation! Such a time saver...totally worth every penny =)

DOES NOT cure nail polish. I put my fingers in and they still come out wet or the nail polish sets to gooey but does not dry the polish correctly. It was a gift. Very disappointed. Wont even try on my other nails.

I bought the product thinking it was going to dry my nails. When I went to use it, the light turned on for a split second and turned off. After that, it did not even turn on no matter how many times I pressed the button.

I received this LED light in the Red Carpet set. I really enjoy using this light as it has an auto shut off for the 45 second cure time. For those that are having issues with curing, this product is only meant for gel polish. Other gels like builders and poly-gels require a 36 watt UV. This light is only 6 watts LED. You will never get a gel builder to cure properly with this product. As for not fitting all 5 fingers, the directions include to do your thumbs separate. I usually hold my light over all 5 nails rather than set my hand under the light. I have no problems with the sides of nails not curing using this method and its faster than curing the thumbs separate.

does not cure polygel quickly ☹️ an hour and a half each hand!!!!

Been using this lamp for the past few years! I also bought the travel lamp. I have never had any issues with it. top/base coats work well, only issue is the brushes tend to harden if doing them under a fan. I actually soaked them in acetone and both came clean. Will always use!

Fast cure (45)seconds. Auto shut off (you don't have to time it with your phone's timer). I have large hands so I have to cure my thumbs separately (doesn't bother me at all). I have only used Red Carpet gels with this light and they work beautifully - v v shiny! I am v picky about my nails so if this passes my approval, then it's worth the buy. I was tired of going to a noisy, crowded salon being rushed through my gel mani so I now I can do it at home, at midnight or whenever I want. I had the gel on for 6 days and one started to lift a bit (my hands are in water quite a bit and are curved so as they grow out, anything on them lifts) so I peeled it off and then reapplied the gel to that one nail in about 4 minutes total time (file, prep, cure, oil, put away). Was able to fix it at home fast and walk out the door to my next thing I had going on that day! For me that was worth the buy.

I have the original light, the long, bar shaped one, and my husband got me this new dome shaped one for Christmas! I love how quickly my nails cured and loved the timing feature of this light.

This light takes forever to cure OPI gel polish. It was over an 1.5 hour process just to cure a base coat, 2 coats of polish and top coat. I'm hoping I'll be able to return this light. This was not a smart purchase!

Better than the travel light cure time was amazing and I love the timer!

My nails are so paper thin. Doing the gel myself is very easy!

I love this product! You won't regret the buy!!!! First time I ever had a gel manicure was a few weeks ago and I loved it. But wow, money, monthly...so I decided to go to ULTA and see if I could find a do it yourself. Found Red Carpet, read some reviews and took the chance on the entire kit. I am thrilled!
You won't regret this buy!

Purchased this before Xmas as a gift for my sister. We both tried it for at-home gel manis a couple of times each. The lamp is great, works with no issues, very user friendly, compact so doesn't take up much space. No complaints about performance or design or otherwise. However, I did discover a similar item at a well known large retailer for half the price - Sensationail lamp, that works just as well. So unfortunately ended up returning this and getting two of the Sensationail lamps, for each of us, for the same money. I do recommend this product but be aware there is a more budget friendly alternative on the market.

This dries my led polish so quick I literally do my nails just before walking out the door or right before doing anything really! Best investment ever!!

I'm a licensed cosmetologist and when I was in school got my certification for shellac/gel polish. I've always wanted a lamp, but didn't want to pay $200+ for the lights at the supply house. I have been looking around at different lights and have finally settled on this one and I really do like it! The only complaint I have is that for whatever reason the polish doesn't ever seem to stick to my thumbs. I'm not sure if it is the polish or what because it has happened with more than one color? Luckily, I have had matching colors of my own regular polish at home that I can re-cover them! However, I know I won't always be so lucky and I bought this for saving money on regular polish, (since I always seem to over buy all the colors). Also, I do 3 coats of the color or else they are still pretty streaky for my liking and don't show the true color. I have used the red color that comes with the kit and the black color, and both were streaky and came off some of my fingers. It is definitely something that takes practice! My second time was better then the first, just frustrating that for whatever reason it takes off both of my thumbs polish.

I have an older light but had to use my phone to time each application. I love this new light because it "times itself". You go from 2 minute timing down to 45 seconds. It REALLY saves a lot of time.

I was hesitant to buy this because I was worried that it wouldn't work, but I finally gave in and it's so worth it. It looks great, the directions are clear and it's sure to save you a lot of money. Would highly suggest.

Now that it only takes 45 seconds foe my nails to dry, I will pant them every 2 weeks!!!

Used this for the first time with gel nail polish and it worked amazing!! Manicure looks professionally done. Recommend reading instructions via Google or you tube tutorials on prepping and finishing your gel manicure while using this led light!

I just used this product yesterday. It was awesome!! I have been doing "red carpet nails" for awhile now but have also used the smaller uv light. It was a pain. It was so small and you had to hold it plus time it. Also, my batteries would sometimes fall out. But this light is amazing. It cures nails so much faster. It light weight. It times for 45 seconds with a button on top. The timer also turns the light on. This light is well worth the cost.

This works well for home use if I only knew how to get rid of the sticky coating from the directions given with it. After much web searching All you have to do is take rubbing alcohol on a cloth and clean your nails off after you are done. I almost returned this thinking it was not working.
