Most Helpful Positive Review My go-to liner for perfect wings
Winged eyes are my every day look, and I've gone through so many different brands and types of eyeliners. I've purchased both cheap and expensive, as well as pencils, gels, and liquids. I've used different sized applicators ranging from tiny, wispy brushes to super thick felt tips, and dealt with terrible pigmentation and durability issues. I can honestly say that Revlon's Colorstay Liquid Liner is the best of all categories when trying to create the most perfect wing! I typically don't apply liquid liner on my water line so I would only recommend using on the lid. I can apply this early in the morning, spend an entire day at work, and my liner lasts until I take it off at night. It loses very slight pigmentation, but not enough to need complete reapplication before heading back out for the night! One of the few downsides to the durability is that, if you make any mistakes when applying, you'll need makeup remover to correct. My skin type is normal/dry, and I've had minor irritation on the outer corner of my eye while the product is drying (I typically have that problem with most makeup, though.) The formula is fairly wet to begin with, so I may not recommend to beginners, and a little goes a long way. I've consistently repurchased this product and will continue to do so!
Most Helpful Critical Review Not a huge fan
I wear a substantial amount of makeup everyday. The whole shebang. I tried the sister eyeliner with the SKINNY applicator which I was actually looking for in store but it was out of stock, so I decided to go with this. I don't know why but I feel like the formula is different. This one isn't as pigmented as I would like, putting it over my eyeshadow is a two layer job and even then it looks watered down. It also bleeds so I ended up with larger wings than anticipated, when I finally got a perfect line I looked like I was going for an Amy Winehouse impersonation. Luckily my style is crazy so it works, but for a simple line for daily wear, I would not recommend this product.
Reviewed by 379 customers Hard for beginners
Madi from Oregon
This eyeliner is matte black, it dries down very quickly with no shine. The applicator is like a hard felt tip and makes creating a pointy wing hard for beginners. The applicator is also a tad bulky and can make it hard to get an even line. If you are familiar with eyeline like this though it wont be much of a learning curve. This liner is pretty smudge proof, it lasted for work and then gardening. This is the liner i use on my inner corners for the cat eye look because I have watery eyes and it holds up better than any other drugstore liner for that. I will say I prefer the elf liquid liner applicator better but enjoy the matte formula of this liner better. This is rated at 3 mainly because of the bad applicator.
Love this liquid liner

Love this liquid liner the felt tip on the wand and it is so easy to put liner on using it! I don't normally have to try too hard for my perfect wing! Takes a few seconds to dry all the way.
I've been using this

I've been using this for years now. I've repurchased it countless time. Its very black and will not budge until you use makeup remover.
Eye IRRITATION! FREE us from TEA! (Triethanolamine)
Solidsunshine from Lansing, Michigan
Oh how I wanted to love this!! Saw it rated highly among beauty magazines liquid liner picks. They lied to us y'all! Another product that looks great but ignores warnings about health issues to make a buck. Yes, it went on beautifully! So ez & perfect line. BUT my eyes immediately started tingling.... then itching/watering... I decided to wait for dry down in case it was my imagination. While the harsh sensation calmed down some, I noticed later that my eyes had minor puffiness all the way around even tho I only lined my top lid. Reason? Triethanolamine or TEA in the ingredients. It's known to cause irritation & allergies in eyes. Not everyone will have a reaction but for those of us that do? WE TRUSTED YOU! Unfortunately, it looks like in this pot style formula,TEA is a common ingredient. I also noticed very few prestige brands offer the liquid pot formula... After a quick search I did see that Milani & NYX were FREE of TEA in the products I looked at. Also saw Lime Crime had a version that's also TEA FREE but mixed reviews. Going to stick to my felt pencil liquid liners.

My mom bought me this eyeliner and I love it! It dries matte and lasts all day. It is easy to apply as well.
A Longtime Staple
Cas from Michigan
While I do experiment with other eyeliners, this is a longtime favorite. It's a versatile product for different eyeliner applications, I use it for a natural or cat eye look and find it easy to use for tightlining, as well. It's also waterproof and the intense color lasts all day. If your line is applied thick, it does have a tendency to crack/flake after several hours of wear.
Great Eyeliner But applicator was changed
aegonzales22 from Texas
The eyeliner is amazing, but the applicator was changed so it makes it harder to glide on. Therefore, us girls can't get that perfect straight line without tugging the eye. That's a NoNo, it causes wrinkles. But the product itself is Great!
My favorite eyeliner

Precise, stiff, felt tip eyeliner. The only liquid liner I use!
Best eyeliner ever
Hehe from Oakland
Been using since I was 13 in 2005.... it's AMAZING. I saw comments about it flaking and it's deff for super experienced eyeliner people because if you do go over what you've drawn a few times it will flake. I used to party hard and wake up and go to work the next day and would still be flawless. It's amazing.
I love this product stays on my eye lids perfect.

This product was well worth buying .
The only eyeliner I'll ever wear
Mars from Tampa, FL
I've been wearing this eyeliner for 10 years. This is the only one that stays put all day, even in FL humidity, and is easy to apply.
All day stay!
Hayhayu from Foley, Alabama
I used to LOVE this product! The product itself is still great but after they changed the applicator, it's so much harder to use. With the new one, there is not much control and it's too dense and takes off most of the product when you add a layer. I love it! Just wish the applicator could go back
The only thing that works
Eli from Midland, tx
I've been using this since high school, literally I've always used Revlon for eyeliners (got it from my mom) but then I started just kinda trying other brands but my eyelids are very hooded so you can imagine how that went until this product came out, obviously it's not perfect and I still get so smudge here and there but its something that I can remove easily.. but yeah it's a great product I think can and will never use another brand 👏🏽
Best liquid liner available!
Anna from Toronto, ON
I have been using this eyeliner in black-brown for almost 15 years. I've tried many, MANY other products, but this one remains my HG.
Why I love it:
- The brush applicator is perfection. Fairly stiff, easy to make very thin or thicker lines.
- Never ever smears or flakes.
- Beautiful natural matte finish -black-brown is like a black without the harshness.
- Packaging is sleek, elegant, and indestructible. Holds up in a pocket or handbag.
Greatest Eyeliner Ever!!!
Sunshine211 from Columbus, Ohio
I have used this for years and it's the best eyeliner I've ever used. Stays on really well; never have any problems with it flaking off. Goes on smoothly. Love the felt tip applicator which makes it so much easier to use than a brush. It is the greatest!!!
LizMJ from Athens, Greece
I buy this eyeliner for years, this type of eyeliner is the most practical for me. Easy application, the quantity also lasts long! Best eyeliner at a great price!
The Best Ever
Kayaker from Richmond, Virginia
Hands down this inexpensive liquid liner by Revlon is superb. I 've tried many others and keep coming back to this one. Flexible tip for thin or thick line, great if you're in the mood for cat eyes
Eve K from undisclosed
I bought this and wanted to try this since my Almay liquid eyeliner wasn't doing the job anymore. Mind you I have worn eyeliner for so many years, every day all day and have tried other eyeliners. I put this on and it stays on all day but when I want to take it off it comes off easily with soap and water without pulling my eyelashes off which is a huge plus. Biggest surprise and reason I'm writing this review is I went to a water park for the whole day and was splashed in the face and also had water pouring over my face and this eyeliner did not come off!! It was unbelievable! I didn't look like raccoon and the eyeliner did not smudge or change up. I recommend it! Love it!
The best eyeliner!
Kels25 from Calgary, Alberta
I have been using this liquid eyeliner for over 10 years because it is the best liquid eyeliner I have ever used. The applicator is the perfect length and the felt tip is the perfect size to do both thin and thick lines. I regularly do a cat eye and this eyeliner makes it so easy. It never smudges or runs and the black is a true black that only needs one application to appear dark. Although it never smudges, it is still very easy to remove with water at night or if you make a mistake. I hope Revlon never stops making it!
sierra from pittsburgh, pa
a mutual recommended this to me bc ive been looking for eyeliners that dont flake. this does not fall into that category. it was flaking off in little sprinkles all day, which ironically enough wouldnt come off my face. if you're looking for a liner that lasts all day and through anything then this is one you should avoid at all costs
Very disappointed from undisclosed
Don't waste your money! I bought this for a waterproof product. It is not. It did stay on all day, but it dried to a very stiff and clumpy liner. When I rubbed my eyes, it came off in little clumps!

Long lasting would definitely buy again

Small compact fits perfectly on the go. Long lasting color. Sharp crisp lines. Love it!
not as expected

The tip is hard. My eyes start burning when I try to apply to the inner corner.
Forgot to mention
msBuddiez from santa rosa
made a previous review and forgot to mention not only was it easy to apply. but at the end of the day when it's time to remove it, it is not hard to remove. I don't need to scrub my eyes or irritate them with my make up remover wipes. also it doesnt stain! finally a product that is pigmented. doesn't stain. doesnt bleed or get runny during the day. HOWEVER since it is easy to remove, you can correct any mistakes quickly with a wet napkin or finger. also...makes it easier to rub it around if you accidentally rub yours eyes while yawning.
