Most Helpful Positive Review Bring Back Royal Blue Your Royal Blue Great Lash mascara was the best! Please bring it back, or I'm stuck with Almay, which is not nearly as good - it's navy; it's a weird texture; and the brush feels like it could also be used to clean a chimney. I NEED MY ROYAL BLUE!
Most Helpful Critical Review Disappointed in newer wands I've been using this mascara for 30yrs. People stop me to ask me what mascara I use. Blackest black Great Lash. I'm so disappointed with the newer wands. I've always used both the curve and straight. However the newer wand doesn't apply the mascara the same. I've literally have kept old wands to use with new mascara. I would pay more to have the mascara the way it was. Totally disappointed with the changes.

I work outside alot... with masks and the cold the warm air goes up your face and the condensation makes the mascara wash off. it leaves me with racoon eyes when I come in.
It's ok. :/ 4

Ive been using this mascara for awhile now and it does help my eyelashes stay curled if i curl before and after mascara but it's pretty basic and I do have to use a spoolie to brush my eyelashes with to separate them becuz they do stick together a bit but it is waterproof and long lasting no flaking 👍
Would buy it again. 4
Faith from New Hartford NY
Good mascara. I love the non-waterproof version, but I workout in the middle of the day so I really need a waterproof. This may bleed a little, but not badly.

This product is overall great if you just want a simple mascara

This mascara not only survived a full on emotional meltdown with about an hour of hysterical crying, it also did not bugde or smudged when attacked/wiped with tissues or a hankerkief. I have not found it difficult to remove when using makeup remover designed for waterproof products. 5 stars!
Best waterproof mascara I have ever found 5

I have used mabeline since I started using mascara I have tried dozens of all the new mascaras that come out promising waterproof and natural Nothing has ever come close
Color bleeds with sweat 2
Venus from CO
Maybe i'm just an abnormally oily eye skinned person Lol?? I saw all the great reviews so was very excited to try a new brand when I could no longer find my old one. But, the sweat from my eyes just makes the color from this mascara smudge all over my lower lids and gives me raccoon eyes after only about an hour or two. I tried adding powder to my lower lid to keep it dry, but it's just not helping. The color is amazing when I first put it on, the brush itself is perfect for separating and coloring each lash. So, I think if you have a dry lower lid naturally, this would probably be ok to give a try.

By the time I get ready to wash my face at night this mascara has run down my face and looks terrible and embarrassing! I need an actual waterproof and transfer proof mascara and this one is not it. Terrible!
I love this product 4

Great mascara
AWFUL 2
Emily from USA
I got this product because I needed a cheap mascara in a pinch and it was like four bucks at the store. Looking back I wish I had spent a few extra dollars and just bought my regular mascara, because this one is downright AWFUL! It is a super thin formula, resulting in mascara getting all over my eyelid, no matter how I apply it. Also it clumps like crazy and just makes your lashes look bad in general. (Think spider legs.) The only reason I gave it two stars and not one is because it's pretty lengthening and doesn't flake that bad.
Awful 1

This mascara was so clumpy on my eyes and it smears so easily. The only good thing about it was that it is super dark
Not-So-Great Lash Smudging 2
B4Me from Cleveland, Ohio
I have used Maybelline Great Lash Waterproof Mascara for 45 years. I never had a problem with it, so I never had to try another mascara. Surely, you have changed the formula. The mascara smudges all below my lower eye line. I kept thinking it was the eyeliner I was using, but sure enough, it was the mascara. I tried the mascara without any eyeliner. I am so disappointed! What is the use of waterproof mascara that smudges?

Maybelline New York - Great Lash® Waterproof Mascara is a classic favorite! All generation of women in my family have used this and I see why they chose this.
Too hard to remove 2
1MsBee from San Diego, CA
Since product is impossible to remove with home products of baby or mineral oil, and soap, it breaks my eyelashes off trying to remove the product and, I still end up wearing part of the product to bed at night. This further contributes to the eyelash breakage. And, I don't like wearing my mascara to bed every night. Yes, I know companies make special products to take mascara off. But, I do not want the extra expense, and shouldn't have to. I want to use my money to purchase more beautifying products, not use it to take off a product. I want mascara to be removable with mineral or baby oil and then use soap and water to remove the residue and oil. And, I don't want to have to rub too hard and stretch my delicate eye area in order to remove it. I want it water proof but, only for tears, rain, and swimming. I like that this product smudges very little if I do decide to wear it all night, on occasion.
I don't care for the way the spiral brush is made. The bristle hairs on the continuous "spiral" are so close together that the lashes can't be separated by the bristle hairs and, the distance on the spiral "row" is too far apart, causing the lashes to clump together making them look unnatural. I like spirals that have the individual bristle hairs separated enough for the eyelashes to be able to glide in between the bristle hairs but close enough together to coat each eyelash hair.
The length of the bristle hairs on the spiral are perfect and, I do like hairs and, hate the wider plastic filaments and nubs some mascaras are using.
Please make a waterproof mascara formula that is removable with a cotton ball soaked in oil followed by soap and water. (I also love the blue, green, and brown mascaras made
specifically for those color of eyes. I have blue eyes but use all three.)
Thank you
Ms. B.
New formula? 2
Tucker24 from St Louis, MO
I have used this mascara for years!!! I randomly bought a different brand as it was on sale so I didnt use great lash for several months. Due to having a toddler at home, I developed pink eye and had to throw away my makeup. Once the pink eye cleared, I once again got great lash because I know how reliable it is. My eyes hurt every time I wear it!! I get flakes in my eyes from the product and it feels like I have an eyelash in my eye all the time. I'm not sure what is going on but I'm very close to switching brands.
Hard to get off? 2
NitaP from Texas
I've used Great Lash for years and have loved it. But the most recent tube I bought seems to have a different formula. The Almay eye makeup remover pads that I've been using forever are suddenly completely defenseless against this mascara. It is very difficult to get off, and when I wake up in the morning, I have black smudges under my eyes. When I reapply for the new day, the previous days leftovers flake off in my eyes. Not sure what is going on, but there is no way I'm going to be able to use the rest of this tube. I'm going to have to find another brand.

Honestly just all around terrible! 1
Tay from Kansas
This mascara Felt like it was impossible to put on without it smearing or getting into my eyes and burning the heck out of them! It takes a really long time to dry, just a big mess! Not a fan! I've tried a lot of mariscaras and this is just your dollar store emergency mascara if anything lol.

Clumping and Flaking! 1

Clumping, flaking mess.Formula must have changed . Very difficult to wash off even with proper products.I know it's "waterproof" but it's very sticky to remove. Sad to see it go.
Keep your ridiculously expensive mascara. 5
Angel from Upstate NY
You can keep all your expensive mascaras. Nothing works as well as this oldie but goodie. I've tried different brands over the years but never found a waterproof mascara that is better this one. I curl my lashes, put a layer of this mascara on and they STAY CURLED! And it is truly waterproof, have never had an issue. It's not flakey, not too thick, just right. And of course, you can't beat the price.
Did fantastic when I cried! 4
Autumn from Oregon
Bought to wear to a funeral and it did fantastic. I cried a lot and it didn't even rub off onto a tissue.
I've been using this over 40 yrs 5
Debra from Maine
I love this mascara & have been using it since I was 11. The formula doesn't seem to have changed. I love Eyeko for super waterproof that lasts a couple of days when I'm taking a long weekend to see my family. I use this Maybelline Waterproof Mascara every day & I still love it after more than 40 years.
Great Lash - Great Mascara 5
judykoby from Raleigh, NC
Love Great Lash Mascara...it makes your lashes look full and dark. I prefer the waterproof but it comes in washable also. I also prefer the brush that comes in the waterproof formula because it brings in all of your lashes and makes them look full and lush. It lasts all day without flaking and comes off easily with Maybelline makeup remover.
