I bought this even though I am only halfway through my bottle of St. Tropez because I found that with that one I would fade quickly and unnaturally (in splotches), which made it a nice instant tan for an event, but not to keep a healthy tan look during the summer.
This applied very easily, though it's annoying to need a rubber glove AND a mit...The St. Tropez mitt doesn't need a rubber glove and seems to glide better. As for the color, it does not develop instantly like you tend to see with the guide color of ST. It does provide a SLIGHT color change because it does contain some guide color. The fact that it was greenish made me have high hopes for the results, since green creates a natural brown tan, not the orange look of fake tanners. At first I didn't think it was working. I looked the same. After 3 hours, it did develop more-my daughter even said, "Mommy, it DID work after all!" Lol, because I was complaining about the subtle results. I am going to leave it on longer than the 3 hours because I'm used to being more tan.
Things to know about this product: It develops over time and I doubt 1 hour would show any difference. It probably requires a few uses initially to get the desired level of tan. That said, the resulting color is AMAZING! It is probably the most natural looking tan I've gotten from a self-tanner. Also, there isnt that nauseating tanner scent like with ST. It's also very "light" in texture. I don't feel caked in goop while I wear it. Once it dries, I forget it's there.
Bottom line: I may try another product in this line to see if I can get a darker color quicker, but I will not go back to ST.
I've been using fake bake for almost a year now. I've used Flawless and Darker and loved my results, but the 60 minutes not so much. When i sprayed it on the mitt for the first time it was a really dark green with a tint of blue and it smelled different from the others. I thought it was super odd because all the others spray out a nice bronze tan. So i thought maybe it is just the color guard. I let it sit on my skin for 3 hours for the darkest shade. The more I had it on the greener I got. After 3 hours I showered it off and it wasn't tan, but I still had a slight green tint still. I wouldn't recomend buying this product, but i do recomend their Flawless.

I only noticed it was super green after I applied it to my whole body. I thought I was seeing green but I have yellowish lights in my bathroom so I thought it was the lighting...nope it was the tanner. I quickly jumped in the shower to rinse off and the water was running a nice forest green. Luckily I only have a hint of green to my skin. Im giving 2 stars because Ive used this product before without problems. I guess they either changed their ingredients or it was super old.

I was in a situation where I needed a tan and didn't have any solution. I loved this. I still used barrier cream and dusted myself with powder after. I also let it dry longer than 60 minutes but all the people that said they weren't dark in 60 minutes... That's not how that works. It cures in 60 minutes. You will continue to darken for 24 hours after you rinse.

this product works. Definitely not in an hour like it claims but it works. I like to use it before bed so I wake up bronzed. It will stay on after a shower too unlike my other fake bake spray. I've noticed it being a greenish color when sprayed on the mitt but it doesn't dry that way. Natural looking tan too!

Love the other fake bake products but this one was a disaster. Dried to a streaky, patchy orange and faded away even weirder.

Broke me out with a rash and didn't make me any darker

I have been spray tanning since I was in high school and have tried just about every product and trick to keep up with the bronze look. This product is hand down the best product I have ever used. I've had professional spray tans as well and I still would choose fake bake every time. I've noticed people posting reviews saying it didn't work after 2-3 hours. It's not an instant tan. I shower, exfoliate and shave. Apply the spray tan onto my mit and blend it into my skin. Wait about 2-3 hours and rinse off in the shower. I'm not instantly bronzed. It takes about 24 hours until I see the color difference. I usually tan at night and once I wake up I'm tan and ready to go! There is no nasty smell to the product. It dries quickly so I'm not standing there all sticky like some other products. When I shower the bronzer does run off so the water can look "dirty" but the tan isn't gone. Love love love this product!

So I'm a PALE ginger, and I kept this on for 2 1/2 hours and saw no difference. Which makes me sad because everyone loves this brand. The plus side is that it wasn't sticky at all once applying. But like I said, I saw no difference ::

Be patient. First time ever self tanner. I exfoliated the night before and added lotion on my knees and elbows as indicated. I followed the instruction and waited on hour. I didn't get the "instant dark" online tan we often see. I didn't fret; I use a face tan water that's based on a gradual effect and I would rather have a "slow developing tan" rather than dark, intense, obvious and what if there is an oops and need to fix? To my surprise after the shower, the tan does continue to develop for a few more hours and gave me a tan that resembled if I went and caught some rays for 20 minutes. I have a nice base tan and was experimenting with products and this was so easy to use; I was applying with coffee! The green tint came after I rinse off but I certainly did not look green. I also did not have any streaking for a first timer. I would rather have a soft tan to build off of with this one; I don't want an obvious fake tanner look. Being from California and having some cloud days, I was missing some hints of color and this is exactly what helped in between the seasons. Would purchase again!

This tanner does give you a great dark tan, but you have to put it on before bed and take a shower when you wake up. If you put it on for an hour or even 4 hours it will not work. The regular fake bake does not give you a dark tan, but this one does. But trust me when I say to wear it all night.
Michelle from Wisconsin
Does not work. Left the product on for the full 3 hours and didn't look any different.

I had an upcoming family wedding that was a destination wedding in a beach. I've used many of fake bakes products and loved this! I saw this one and was over the mood to purchase a 60 minute one. I sprayed the first spray and it was GREEN! Nothing alarming as sometimes when the tanner sits too long it will separate and turn a greenish coloring. So I shook it up really good and sprayed again! It was green yet again! So I unscrewed the top and pour it down the drain the whole entire bottle was green! I was very upset!!!!!! Luckily I had an extra bottle of Fake Bake darker and I used it. I don't want to give an ugly review because some bottles may have been old. I just hate that it was my bottle. I will purchase other Fake Bake products.

I have been using this product for years and it does a great job with giving you a tan. It does not have an odor and there is minimal rub off on clothing. I would definitely recommend this product.

Horrible customer service as well.

This tanner has a green under tone when you first apply! Over time the tan will sink into your skin more, but when I woke up the next morning I was ORANGE. I spent lots of time scrubbing this stuff off. Highly do not recommend this!!!

I'm 28 years old and trying to avoid tanning booths because they are not great for keeping up with my skin. I heard alot about this fake bake. I wanted to give it a try. I like that it didn't have the typical self tanning odor. I was skeptical putting it on because it looks dirty on your skin. I put it on my face too. I let it sit on for about 2 hours. This is more a night time ritual if u have to go somewhere you dont want to leave the product and on while developing. After I showered last night I kept looking and seeing I am looking darker. I was impressed. It's not orange and streaky! This morning when I woke up I look I've been to the beach. It is a nice golden brown. Keep in mind I am very fair. It is expensive but I think it worked great. Only down side is the green tint and wish it did have a beachy smell and it dries quickly while applying. I used this in conjunction with the Fake bake coconut exfoliating wipes and I am in love.

I have used self tanners for a long time. my favorite one is Loving Tan and i always get great results that last when using that one. when i moved away for college my local ulta didn't have that brand. i had been using the fake bake darker and it was okay.. i'd usually drive an hour to go to another ulta to get the loving tan. i tried the 60 minute tan and literally nothing happens. i even slept in it and had it on for 10 hours and i washes it off in the morning before class and i had a hint of a weird color inside, but in natural light i'm just pale. i have to put it back on two more days. so it takes at least 3 says to get any form of a good color. completely defeats the "quick tan" purpose. i hate this product so much lol. def don't reccomend

I have used fake bake "darker" for years with good results. I purchased the 60 minute tan version because I was in a hurry. I left it on for and hour and a half and had next to no results. The only color I have seen after several attempts are green tinted streaks. These small bottles are too expensive to have such poor results.

I love this tanner! It works great on me. Color is perfect on my skin tone. And it smells amazing!
Tina from Columbia, SC
After my brand of self tanner stopped being available I needed something else quick. I did my research and decided to give Fake Bake a try since it has received many positive responses. I was pleased with how easy it was to apply but in order to get what I consider a light to medium tan I had to leave the product on for the full 3 hours. To me this defeats the purpose of a "quick tan". It however never developed to a "dark tan". I also did not feel it dried any quicker than most other tanning products. The smell was not bad but not as "yummy" as noted by some other people. I noticed a discernible fad to my tan in the A.M. of the 3rd day. The product had not even been on my skin for even a full 3 days yet! I expected more for the money spent but overall liked the color. Another pro is the bronzer that is applied to your skin while it is developing is looks good enough where you could actually go out in public.

We love this product. Extremely natural looking tan and you are dark in an hour. My daughter and I shared our first bottle and it lasted several months.. so a little pricey but lasts awhile and definitely looks great!

I have used the product every other day and it has created a beautiful natural tan.
Nicurl from Eunice. La
The smell is good. I usually use a mousse or lotion and I like that better! The mitt that comes with it kept falling off, little pieces of pink mitt fell off. The tan looks good after a bit but you take a shower and it rubs off!

love this! great natural looking tan
