Most Helpful Positive Review I LOVE this conditioner!
This is the first time I have felt inclined to write a review.....my daughter is a mixed nationality......soccer playing.....not caring about her hair....twelve year old that asks for me to buy this conditioner when she runs out. This stuff works great for her hair!
Most Helpful Critical Review Devacurl causes extreme hair loss!
I started using devacurl products in early 2019, and from the very start the original one conditioner was in my routine. It honestly never made my hair look good but I thought this was just the adjustment period or maybe I was putting products on incorrectly or something. Within a month or so I started noticing significant hair loss. I'm talking a palm sized amount of hair in every single shower. I also noticed my hair just started looking more damaged and less curly, more frizzy. It just looked bad. Eventually I had to have it cut from bra strap length to shoulder length because my hair got so thin it was stringy and gross looking long. I had my hair cut at a Deva certified salon and they also used devacurl products on my hair. I told them about the hair loss but I thought it was hormonal. At this point I never once question that it might be devacurl, because devacurl is supposed to be the best of the best. So I kept using their products. In december 2019 I bought a replacement bottle of two products, the low poo and the light defining gel. At this point I noticed my scalp was just really itchy and it burned. After a couple weeks I noticed I was getting lots of dandruff that didn't go away with clarifying with sulfate free shampoo, and red tiny bumps on my scalp started to pop up. Then about a week ago a girl I follow on YouTube told about her experience and how devacurl products ruined her hair. She was exclusively using devacurl too and her hair looked just like mine. I realized at this point that obviously it was these products! I stopped using them immediately and washed them all out of my hair. Since removing the devacurl products my scalp feels better and looks better, but my hair is so thin you can see my scalp. Specifically mostly in the area of my hairline and around my ear/temple area. It will take probably years to repair the damage these products have done to my hair. Do yourself a favor and don't buy them and if you own them, stop using them!

This smells so good! I love the way it never leaves residue on my scalp. It is just the amount of moisture to keep curls frizz free. I have long hair that covers my entire back and his curly and I tend to like my curls to be loose and long and flowey and this seems to be the perfect conditioner help with that style highly recommend.

This conditioner makes a huge difference in my hair. I use this regularly and my hair stylist comments on my hair every time I go in about how thick, soft, and healthy my hair is. That's enough for me to keep using it. This conditioner gives me the moisture I need and my hair is finally frizz free. Definitely a keeper. I received cash back by participating in a cash back program.

I find this to be a nice medium conditioner. It is not the most lightweight or the most moisturizing but a good in between. It smells nice and works nice.

Look up the Devacurl lawsuits before you buy any of their products. This dried out my hair, and I ended up buying a bunch of other products to try and rehab my hair after words. My hair got frizzy and my split ends were out of hand. Buy literally any other product.

I've been using this product for a while and it consistently is my favorite. It smells amazing and leaves my curls soft & hydrated.
Perfect for curls!

This condition is perfect for people with curly hair. It hydrates and refuels my curls while not weighing them down! I received this product for free from a Cashback program.
Moisturizing for fine, dry hair
bunchy000 from Fargo, ND
I really like this conditioner for my fine, wavy, dry, tend-to-frizz hair. It is one of my go-to conditioners. I do think it is expensive though and use something else on occasion to save money. I would recommend it and would buy it again. I am hopefully receiving cash back for the purchase & review of this item.
Buyer beware! Extreme damage and hair loss!
Keeshac80 from Virginia
I started using DevaCurl products in 2017. At first, my curls looked great. So when I started noticing my hair becoming very dry in 2018, it didn't occur to me that the DevaCurl products were the culprit. Next issue I noticed was the loss of my curl pattern. My curls got more and more loose and some pieces were even straight. Then I started to notice a lot of hair loss in the shower. Next thing I knew, my hair was so thin and stringy in the back that it was see through. After years of trying to grow my hair out, I was forced to cut several inches off my hair because it had gotten so thin. I was devasted. I went to the doctor thinking it was some sort of hormone imbalance or health issue causing this extreme hair loss. But my exams and blood tests came back fine. Then in 2019, I started seeing social media posts about DevaCurl causing dry brittle hair and hair loss and it all clicked. I stopped using all DevaCurl products In October 2019 and my hair is almost back to normal. It's curly again and the extreme hair loss has stopped. Of course it will take years for my hair to grow back after how much I lost. And DevaCurl has done nothing but deny, gaslight, and victim blame instead of owning up to the damage their products have caused thousands of people!
Works great on my curls
Reenie618 from Long Island ny
Great conditioner for my hair. I have tried other brands they just don't moisturize my hair as well. Keeps my hair from getting detangled or frizzy
Made my transition amazing!

I use this along with the shampoo as well and this has help my transition and bring my curls to life! Love it.
great to detangle

I'm giving this a go again now after some time off but this had been my go-to conditioner for years. It works well to leave in a little too.
The only conditioner I use
LisaR from Canton, Mi
The conditioner I use after every wash. This has been the ONE conditioner I have used for years, even when I feel like straightening my curls I use this conditioner. It has a pleasant mild fragrance. It is moisturizing with out being heavy. It does not weigh down my fine hair. I have tasted to use this on my daughters as well, as their hair is starting to get a wave/curl. They love the smell ans it leaves this hair incredibly soft and bouncy. I recieved CashBack via the CashBack program for an honest review of the product.
Easy to use

My hair feels so good. No issues at all.
Years later I'm still seeing damage
Notanemployeeprobably from Anonymous
This product genuinely made my hair so thin and dry and it's been two years since I used it and my hair never recovered. It ruined my curl pattern, gave me awful dandruff and my hair is super thin now
Best conditioner for my curly hair
wX from NY, NY
I've used this product line for 15 years, it's the best thing for my curls. Deeply moisturizing and leaves me frizz free. One thing to note is that this doesn't contain a ton of oil, I can't use products w a lot of oil. I have fine hair w spiral curls. If you need an oil based conditioner, this might not work for you. I use the no-poo, hair gel and this conditioner daily.

Love this + now my son with the same hair type has started to use. Should have gotten the larger bottle
I read the reviews after I purchased
HL from Raleigh NC
I was so excited to try devacurl hoping it would help bring back curl to the damaged blond pieces left in my hair. I only wash my hair once a week usually so I noticed the difference after about a month using only devacurl products (shampoo/conditioner, leave in conditioner, gel). It was not good for my hair, it became even less curly and more frizzy. It caused alot of buildup as others are stating. I devolped dandruff and my scalp began to itch. I continued to use it for another month before I decided to look into it and saw others were having similar issues but much worse because they used this brands products for a longer period of time. I feel lucky I noticed a difference so quickly. Maybe it was a bad batch. But from what I've read, there is a class action lawsuit against them so I wouldn't risk it. I ended up still being in the window to return my products so I did.

I promise you Deva products are horrible!!
There are many other MUCH BETTER curly brands out there! Other brands are more affordable and help nourish curly hair much more than DevaCurl!!
This conditioner (along with many other Deva products) absolutely ruined my beautiful curls. I used Deva faithfully for 2 years. It's now been almost a year since I've stopped using it and my hair is still a mess because of DevaCurl.
I love this for my fine naturally curly hair.
JC from USA
I use it as a leave in also.
Would be good if not for the overwhelming super sweet smell
Peg from Brighton CO
I would like it better if it had a floral or fruity smell. I could not find the Decadence or I would have liked that one. Smells like coconut.
Just-jelli from Arizona
I bought this, along with other devacurl products, because I had friends who were RAVING about this for their curls. I was so excited as I was blown away by their results. My first use of their system did bring my curls out (a lot of product is needed fyi) but after continuous use, my hair became very brittle and dry! I've never had this happen before. The buildup was horrible as well. I stopped using after a couple weeks but the damage was done. I tried reviving my hair (deep conditioning, masques) but whatever is in this damaged my hair permanently. Upon reading others reviews, I wasn't the only one who had this experience.
How the mighty has fallen!

DevaCurl was my go to for years and years. I loved all the products, but something changed in late 2019... My hair started to feel straw-like, but it also started to get gummed up faster. I used this in the shower every day and only used shampoo once a week and towards the middle of 2020, I had to start shampooing 2x/week because of how much build-up would be on my hair.
I also noticed that my curls were losing their shine and bounce. I got lucky and my hair didn't start falling out in clumps, but I did notice that I was shedding more.
My hair got so gross that at one point, I resorted to using Dawn dish soap on my hair to get it completely clean.
Every so often, I'll wash and condition with something I got as a sample and I'll notice a HUGE difference in my hair. It'll be shiny, have more bounce, and my 3c curls would spiral perfectly. It's happened enough times to have me convinced that this is no longer the product I trusted for years and I now I have to say goodbye.
TERRIBLE - new formula
Allie from WA
I used this product for years and absolutely loved it. But I need to warn my other curly girls, they changed the preservative in their shampoos/conditioners, which ultimately changed the product (even though Deva claims otherwise). This product RUINED my hair. It left such a thick paste/residue in my curls, to the point that I had to go to my hair stylist and have her give me a detox treatment to get the product and the subsequent tangles out of my hair. I will never ever use this product again.
Go online and read curly girl message boards and you will see this is a real problem for a lot of ladies!! Stay away!!
