Most Helpful Positive Review WOW! Amazing! This brand compares to if not exceeds the Celeb Luxury Viral line. I used that for about a year. But the price went up and down so much and then it just went up and up that I didn't want to buy it anymore. My purple baylage color was really starting to fade and turning into that gross fuchsia color. I applied the Punky the same way I did the previous color depositing shampoo (8-10 sections, shower cap, 10 minutes hair dryer and let it sit for 30-60 minutes) and I was shocked, amazed and so, so happy with the color it turned out after just one use. I can't wait to see how intense the color gets after multiple uses. As far as the smell, it doesn't smell great in the bottle but to me the smell was low to almost non-existent once applied. Would probably stain if you don't clean the surface it comes in contact with right away, including your skin. I used gloves but mostly to protect my acrylic nails from being stained. I think it did such a good job depositing the color that the rinse really wasn't that colorful and I had maybe one tiny bleed mark on my towel after I dried my hair with it. Last but not least I was amazed with how soft and tangle free my hair was. With the Celeb luxury you have to combine the shampoo and conditioner or the shampoo doesn't nourish your hair. That combination is $50-60+ and now I can get get it in one bottle for a quarter of the cost. Will recommend to anyone looking for a funky color on bleached hair or to maintain your funky color! Thanks Punky for bringing an affordable color depositing shampoo to the unnatural color line!
Most Helpful Critical Review SUPER BRIGHT - magenta, not purple I bought the purpledacious shampoo thinking I could dilute it a little bit and put it in my hair for a minute and come out of the shower with some light purple tint to my hair. No. I'm glad I decided to look in the mirror after I put it in my hair because it's BRIGHT MAGENTA. It's more pink than purple. I personally hate magenta, so I tried to rinse it out as best I could, washed it again, but it's still bright magenta. If that's what you want, then it's a great product. But personally, I'm going to wait a couple more days to see if it fades out and then bleach my hair (was planning on doing my roots anyway). I do have bleached hair so that probably made it absorb more of the color, so it might be more subtle if you've never dyed your hair. I would definitely dilute a bit of it and do a test strand before using this shampoo because I'm embarrassed to go outside now.

Have tried almost all of the colors and I really love this product. I can't dye my hair because of health reasons and this has been a godsend. Shampoo in, rinse and dry.. Colors are vibrant, gradually fsde with regular shampoo,or shampoo with a different color and get something you can call your own !!!!. Fun
turned my hair green 3
hanna from Washington
I purchased the mocha (brown) and it turned all of my highlights bright green, I've washed my hair three times with different products and it won't come out or fade at all. I didn't have any other products on my hair to start with so it had no reason to turn green
Fabric Dye 1
Er from Ohio
I used this when I was in a bind and could see my stylist. While the color was pigment, it stuck to my hair and after six sessions of removing the color I still have some in my hair. Now if this was actual hair dye it would have come easily by color removal. My stylist thinks this product uses fabric dye and that's why it was so hard to remove.
Love this stuff! 5

Smells great and helps my color between appointments. Love it so much, I bought it for a friend for her to try!
9 months later hair still weird colors 1
Not a diamondista from Wilmington, NC
I used the diamondista color 9 months ago and it changed my hair at least 4 different colors. It was my one and only time using the hair dye I had been a typical strictly blonde highlights blonde hair girl till quarantine and got bored. I saw this on a tik tok. It turned my hair first grey and pink??? Then it turned green, then it turned mauve. Then after my hair dresser spent weeks fixing it back to tones of blonde I tried a brown root and the stuff CAME BACK MAUVE. And yes we are sure it's not her colors it's a very Lux salon and they use Wells products with none of the same color bases. So absolutely do not buy this.
DO NOT BUY SILVER IF YOU WANT LIGHT 3
Addy from Floyd county, Kentucky
I used the product and put it on my bleach blonde hair because I wanted more silver and it turned out dark grey, almost black. Hopefully after a few washes it will turn out how I want but the picture is not accurate on color.
nice, but the STAINING 4
Fezzik from Corning, NY
I've used this with Manic Panic and with Arctic fox colored hair. so for me, it worked better with the latter, as it's kept my hair pink and pretty. I like it, but my GOD. THE STAINING! just remember that if you got a white tub, it ain't gonna be white long after using this. MY GOD. So like it's nice. but S T A I N I N G.
it's still hair dye 5
magic erasers are your friend from ohio
I got my hair dyed pink a couple weeks ago at a salon but I know hair dye tends to leave so I keep up with it by using the 3-1 every shower. Personally, I love it. It makes my hair feel really good and keeps the color vibrant. Now, its still hair dye, so my tub is a little pink right now but nothing that a magic eraser and comet can't fix.
Didn't deposit color 1
DM22 from NY
Reading through the reviews, I see your base color, hair porosity and the color you choose will really affect results. I have lower porosity hair (basically healthy and not damaged, bleached or chemically treated), medium brown and fine. I bought the brown color (mochanificent) to touch up grays and my roots.
However, no matter how long I left this on, this didn't do anything. I even tried spot area at the temple where I have a concentration of grays, leaving it on for over an hour, and nothing. However, I should have know this has shea butter, because I noticed this leaves a terrible residue on my hair, and the residue/ build up feeling doesn't go away until I've clarified my hair over a period of several days. Normally I avoid heavier, hard to wash out ingredients like shea butter and coconut oil because my hair is fine, since those ingredients cling to my hair, and should have checked the ingredients more carefully. Unfortunately, this ended up being a waste of money in my case,. It smells like bubble gum, so if you like to that kind of a scent, that's a plus.
Silver turned my hair blue 1
Alex from Orchard Park NY
I used the diamond silver shade one time in the shower- lathered it in on wet hair, let it sit for 5 minutes while I washed my face and body, and then rinsed my hair. It did nothing at all to my reddish brown shadow root but turned the rest of my medium blonde hair BLUE. I'm so upset and will be washing repeatedly with a clarifying shampoo to get rid of this color ASAP. I was hoping for an ashy gray-blonde like I get from my usual go-to Overtone vibrant silver conditioner. This is what I get for trying a different brand.
Better than regular dye 5
Kip from Bozeman, MT
THIS STUFF PACKS A COLOR PUNCH! This stays in my hair better & longer than alllll the various semi permanent dyes I've tried, and it'll do that in a matter of minutes, not hours. With that said, it is SO STRONG that it will dye anything & everything. Do not be surprised if your shower is tinted afterwards (it's ok, just leave some bathroom bleach cleaner on it afterwards & it will lift). It is so strong that it's a bit of a pain to remove- stuff like oVertone comes out much easier. Therefore, I wouldn't recommend it for those that want to change the color often. Also, it does not do much to my roots, so if you have not bleached your hair don't expect a miracle.
very pigmented 3
aub from mi
my son wanted green hair so we tried this. we both used it and both have brown hair. it gave us a tint for sure. but made such a mess. more than any other hair dye. I've been dying my hair for years and have never gotten splatters all over my bathroom before. my skin is still green after taking a long shower with lots of scrubbing. I did use gloves when applying but not when washing it out which I have never done with any other color. this was a first time using this product and while it is very pigmented idk if I will use it again. hoping the green comes off my neck, ears and hands before I work on Monday.
Super fun and super easy 5
BDawn from Utah
I have really light brown hair with a few blonde highlights (and greys) so I wasn't sure how much of the color would show. I put it on dry hair (like you would with hair dye) and made sure everything was totally saturated. I left it on for about 10-15 minutes and then rinsed it out. Have used it as normal shampoo for the last week and it has keep the color bright and fun. The highlights turned a pretty purple and the rest of my hair became an ashy lilac...even the grey took on some purple and really shine ... I LOVE it! When I run out of the shampoo and the color fades back to normal I'm totally going to try another color.
Great For Maintaining Color - Makes Hair Shiny 5
Dale Frolics from Salem MA
I am surprised by the other comments about there not being good directions. I'm pretty sure it says to wear gloves and that it will stain surfaces, like any hair color. I do not wear gloves and just wash my hands immediately after putting it on. The purplelicious is very purple and helps my dark brown hair, with gray highlights, nice and shiny and retain its color between color application.
Impressed With This Punky Pink Shampoo 5
Jeep Girl from Philadelphia
I am definitely impressed with this Punky Pink color, after trying different pink color Shampoo/Conditioners, this by far works with one try really well. Tho I started with Light Pink hair which is I wanted to keep fresh. But using this product gave me a more Vibrant Hot Pink which I LOVE! I dampened my hair and applied it as if I was dying it. I let it sit in my hair for almost 45 mins. "Because the longer you leave it in the more vibrant it gets", then washed it out. I didn't even need a second conditioner, this made my hair really soft. I will definitely keep using it . This color definitely POPS, if that's what you want :) :). I only need to wash my hair once a week which I'm lucky for, cause I know some people have to wash more often.
Love love love! 5

Hate that it turns your hands pink but after you wash your hands a lot it goes away.
Needs real instructions! 3
Lucy from CA
I know I probably should've looked into this more in advance but the directions on the bottle really aren't clear!
It's called a shampoo so I used it like a shampoo. Now my entire bathroom is stained pink.
"Color depositing shampoo"? More like dye with a bit of shampoo and conditioner mixed in.
Also, it doesn't say whether to use on wet or dry hair - I used it in the shower and won't do that again.
I don't get why anyone would buy this rather than just a hair dye that would last longer and a colour safe shampoo....
I have medium brown hair with red/gold natural highlights. After one "wash" only leaving it on for 2 mins I've got a definite red tone to it... and to my forehead, neck, shoulders.....
3 stars because it did dye my hair pretty quickly but it needs proper instructions and is no easier to use than a box dye.
In love. 5
Sammi from San Diego ca
If I just want to refresh my color and I'm in a hurry 5 minutes in the shower
Does the job.
If I have time I'll let it sit in my hair for 20 minutes and shampoo and condition after.
Fantastic 5
Jenny from Peoria, Illinois
I bought this to see what it would do on my naturally light golden brown hair. Omgosh, after just one use it covered my white hairs 75%, and it makes it shiny and soft and smells like delicious sweet bananas!! I'm going to use this and keep using it until I get my highlights done at the salon - no more guessing games trying to find a hair color that matches my natural and dealing with the mess trying to cover my white hairs! Will purchase again!
It's fine 3
Tori from Detroit
Smells like straight hubba bubba bubble gum. The purple is definitely more violet than plum color. Your shower will be stained and your hands will be stained for the reminder of the shower... Just apply in the beginng so it'll wash off your hands while you finish. If you want to take the time And spend the money you could mix them Bec the colors are very rogbv.
Love the Results! 5
Packfan12000 from Port Edwards WI
I had medium brown hair that has been going gray for years. I had been coloring it and then decided to let it start growing out. In the meantime I had been doing highlights to blend in the gray. Decided I wanted to see how it would look completely gray so I used the Punky Diamondista. I had read some reviews that it turned out blue or green for some people, so I did two test strands. The first I applied to damp hair and left on for 15 minutes. Color was not intense enough for me. Second I left on for 25 minutes. That looked a little dark. I did all my hair finally and left on for 20 minutes. The result was great! Some of the highlighted areas of my hair look a slightly different color but I plan to shampoo with this for a shorter amount of time next time and am hoping those will gradually blend in more. The product is thick so it is easy to work in without a lot of dripping. I had no problems with staining as some other people have noted. I did wear gloves to apply. Some spots that got on my white sink were easy to remove. Overall I am very happy with how this worked!
Absolutely love! 5
Madinoel from Idaho
I'm not one for leaving reviews but jeesh this worked wonders on my hair! I bought the red Bc my hair had dramatically faded from its pretty red and being a single mom it's hard to get away to do my hair.
I'm serious when I say the color is almost exactly what it was when I got it professionally done! Plus it feels amazing and smells like bubblegum!
Intense color 4
My2citygirls from Texas
The color is very intense and lasted more than a week. It will stain your hands but will easily wash out with soap. As it fades, it's very evenly distributed. Not sure about all of the colors but red smells like bubblegum.
Used Diamondista 4
Lin from Florida
I think this is a pretty decent, easy product to use. I used it in the shower so there was no mess to clean up. It took a few uses to get it more even and cover all my blonde, but it doesn't seem to touch my medium/dark brown sections at all that I can tell. I do feel like rather than moisturizing my hair, it dries it out so I always use a regular conditioner or else leave-in conditioner after I use it. I haven't noticed color bleeding on anything when my hair is wet either, so I'm not sure how quickly this washes out/fades. I'd be open to trying the other colors when the grey is gone.
I totally love it! 5
bbsitter from Arizona
I bought the red shampoo. I would take one pump of this product and mix it in with my regular conditioner and every few days apply it to my hair. I got red highlights in but I wanted it to be more vivid so I use this and it is wonderful. My hair is pretty dark but this product shows up well without bleach! Smells nice & despite the coloring factor, is a nice shampoo/conditioner!
