I was originally looking for an affordable, non-makeup treatment for the dark circles under my eyes (due to lack of sleep). A salon employee recommended this product in combination with cold cucumber slices, to make my eyes less puffy. She also explained other uses, such as insect bite itch relief. The texture is fantastic, the product is all natural, and I'm in love.
This product was found to have high levels of Benzene (a carcinogen) by an independent pharmaceutical testing company. Johnson & Johnson recalled their sunscreens that tested positive for benzene but Sun Bum didn‚'t. Why is this still for sale? Has it been reformulated? What are you doing to protect your customers?

I tried this one, because I love the Sun Bum SPF50 roll on sunscreen so much. It's EASILY my new favorite. I've always loved the aloe type aftercare products. This one has it in it as the first ingredient, but the consistency is so much better than other aloe products I've tried. It's not sticky, I usually will put it on 2-3 times on my not-so-sun-friendly places that happened to get burnt. I wish it would let me add my picture of the day after being burnt. It goes down SIGNIFICANTLY! To the point where you wouldn't be able to tell that I was burnt. The way that the tea tree leaf oil soothes my skin, the natural cooling sensation of the aloe, on top of air drying in front of a fan, is AMAZING. It's my holy grail go to now.

I had a second degree burn on my nose (I have an auto immune disease and it causes severely dry skin). I sat outside for two hours without sunscreen- it didn't seem hot enough and I was in the shade *awful mistake*. Before I made a dermatologist appointment I was willing to try anything- this saved me a doctor appointment. Note that it does feel "tight" and "sticky". I applied 3 times a day and then before I went to sleep. I wish I could post the before and after photos here! The HOLY GRAIL of sunburn and peeling relief.

Seriously! I can't be outside for more than 5 minutes without breaking out into a heat rash and this always helps soothe my skin. I recommend putting it in the fridge, you welcome!

After a sunburn it is the best product! Works very fast and your skin immediately feels relief.
Andi from St. Louis MO
I got sunburnt to point of blisters and this felt nice on them and didn't feel too sticky like regular aloe.
Suzie from Seattle
It's okay. I do like the cool down lotion more. Not any better or worse than any other aloe lotion I've used.

This feels so good after the shower! The tea tree smell is great. But the cooking sensation is even better

I used this a lot while on beach holiday. It stung my skin over the sunburn. It was very painful to use. But smelt good at least!

I love that aloe is one of the first ingredients. The texture and consistency are perfect. The cooling effect feels amazing, especially when kept in the fridge.

I have fair skin & my skin got a little pink after time spent in the sun, despite multiple applications of sunscreen. I used this product once a day for the next few days and it helped sooth and moisturize my skin. I still peeled a little, but this really helped my skin to stay moisturized.

I had this sitting around for a good 3 months because I thought it was a one hit wonder -- just cooling. I spent a few days basking in the Florida sun and after returning home from a fun-filled beach day, I realized that I had completely sun-burned my back side. By sunburn I mean I was RED RED and my skin would blanch to the touch. I opened my medicine cabinet and thought I'd give this a try. Yes, the cooling sensation is AMAZING, but what is more amazing is the fact that I DID NOT PEEL DAYS LATER! I completely doused my backside with this gel in the morning and night for the next 3 days and my sunburn had completely subsided. The most amazing part is that I did not peel, my sunburn went away, and I feel and look great with a nice tan! I would buy this again and would 100% RECOMMEND!

I've tried so many aloe Vera gels and this one is the best. It soaks into your skin very well, is cool but not too cold when it touches sunburn. I also think it's takes away the sunburn quicker than other gels I've used.
Dasha from Santa Clara
absorbs quickly, is not sticky...if you have major sun burn you will have to apply something far more nourishing though
I still peeled...a lot...so use it more for after sun, not as "medication" after too much damage has been done
would have liked lidocaine in it too for numbing the pain

Rub this on my Caspers back every night before bed so that his shoulders will cool down after his daily walks. It's not sticky, absorbs well (and quickly, and smells like a vacation.
1 bottle lasts 3 weeks of daily use on his shoulders, neck and back.

I got this as a replacement for regular drugstore aloe. I LOVE that this isn't sticky and that I can reapply as many times as I want without buildup. It smells great too! My cheeks were sunburnt as well, but this literally made the redness go down a bunch! If you're thinking about it, please get this!

We went to the beach yesterday and, oh boy, did I burn! We stopped by an Ulta on the way back and found this gem. Not sticky, super reliving, and has a pleasant smell. I applied it, even on my hair line, and by the next day it was way less red! Definitely recommend!!
calla from california

Fried In Michigan from Michigan
I rarely write reviews but this product definitely warranted a review! I live in Michigan and my boyfriend and I got fried at the beach on Memorial Day while wearing sunscreen. Apparently we didn't "re-apply" enough. We went to every store by our house to find Aloe. Unfortunately, everything was sold out - so I was going through my emails and noticed this Sun Bum Aloe Gel - we needed something so I ordered it. Had it in 2 days. This stuff is seriously amazing! It's not sticky, it hydrates my skin really well and my boyfriend who makes fun of all "girly things" was really impressed with how it helped his skin as well. Give it a try, you won't regret it!

I never go to the beach or anywhere sunny without it!

I love the sun and the lake, but I am translucent, I'm so pale. I got burned a few weeks ago and thought the after sun product I used worked well. I blistered (the chest was MISERABLE) and peeled. Well, being the lake lover I am, I boy burned again this weekend (sunscreen and all) BUT... this stuff worked!! I use it in the morning and the pain is already gone. My skin feels smooth and looks awesome. Absolutely recommend!!!
