Most Helpful Positive Review Oily Skin & Mature Skin Friendly
I have tried a number of primers that work well on my oily skin. This one isn't formulated specifically for oily skin, but hands down it's the best. Stays on all day. Works well on enlarged pores or any texture issues. Best of all it's maturity skin friendly. :-)
Most Helpful Critical Review Blur what???
I have tried this product every which way but loose. I tried looking up videos on how to apply. Thought, maybe I was doing something wrong. Too much? Too little? Didn't wait long enough after application? Nothing works. Goes on beautiful drive to work, check the mirror? I look worse. I kept blaming my application process, my foundation, concealer. Finally, I did half my face with primer and half without. It's the primer. That being said, I am curious about the age if the 5 star reviewers. Maybe they are younger. I am 43 and have to say no go!!! Unless, you don't mind amplifying wrinkles.

I do have dry skin so I don't put it all over my face I put it in my t zone and next to my nose where I have visible pores and it makes my foundation apply beautifully and works like magic love this stuff so much. This really helps w uneven skin and stays put all day long. 10/10 recommend.
Very drying; shows all my pores and fine lines
MandaPanda from San Antonio, TX
I really wanted to love this! I've heard such great things about Tarte and was very excited to try it out. The primer applied on very smooth and nice, but made my skin very dried out. I've always had a problem with dry skin so I prep with a lot of moisturizers. I feel like this product counteracted all of my skin prep! My foundation turned out worse than using no primer at all. Very dry, flaky, and it had settled into every pore and fine line I have. I apply lightly with a damp beauty blender, but the primer "clogged" up around the edges of my nose that are very noticeable, which you can see if you zoom into that are.
Stick with e.l.f.
Jenn from CA
I ran out of my e.l.f. poreless putty primer and had this as a result of an Ulta rewards gift, so I finally tried it. It grips, I'll give it that. It mattifies, too. BUT it also grips foundation and concealer so much that it will not blend out and ends up looking textured and splotchy. So much so that I washed my face and started all over. When will I learn that Tarte complexion products simply don't work for me?
great for oily skin!

I love this stuff! great for oily/combo skin and pores. It doesn't get greasy after a few hours like the Benefit one does. Lasts awhile too!
I have bought this several times. I love it!

Helps hide my pores and makes my face feel smooth. I use under foundation.
An okay product
Emily from Detroit MI
Eventually after daily use the product clogged pores and couldn't cover the pores. Very expensive for an okay product.
There's nothing better

I'd never really bought into the primer hype, and then I tried this. It seems to quite literally erase my pores and I always get compliments on how great my skin looks when I use it. I tend to use a tinted moisturizer, not a full-on foundation, so I'm certain this primer plays a big part where it counts. After using it, I'd decided to give some other primers a go, but none have given me the same results. I can't imagine my makeup routine without it, now. It's a must-have for me.

I was sold on this by a YouTuber.. lol
This was small in product volume for the price and I was not at all impressed. Will stick with my Lancôme primers they perform way better, and are actually pore soothing.
Love this primer!

Bottom line is that I do love this product, but it is way too pricey for the small amount you get. In the process of looking for something comparable with a lower price point.
I will buy this product again!!!Gonna try the liquid one too

After I moisturize, add primer to my face, let sit for a few mins, Then apply my foundations over it.. Allows for my make to blend easy and stays on all day.

Something I figured out with this one if you're struggling with patchiness, I tried putting a small amount in the back of my hand and mixing 2 drops of a facial oil into it, this helps it have a thinner consistency and it glides on more smoothly and leaves the most beautiful finish after you apply foundation. I also only put it in the zones with bigger pores like my nose, my cheeks by my nose and my chin. This helps it to still look like skin but just more flawless. It also wears a long time. Try this out it works.

If you like your makeup to look super smooth, airbrushed, filter like and just fresh looking like you just applied it then you absolutely need this primer. I caved and spent the money to try this because I seen others raving about it and I was not let down. I can use this by itself or in conjunction with other primers and my skin looks flawless everytime. I pick some up out of the jar and smooth it into my cheek, around my nose, on my nose, chin and forehead and it smooths out/fills in everything in those areas and keeps my foundation looking smooth and cake free all day. I'm super oily and this does a pretty good job at oil control on its own. It goes on feeling moussey and then dries down a bit which is why I think it helps with oil. I wait a couple minutes before putting foundation on top of this and it's perfection

I was so excited to finally try this. Sadly, I am disapointed.
LOVE THIS PRIMER
ChrissieL from Wisconsin
I have combo skin. Dry in the morning and oily during the day/night. This primer worked for me! A little does goes on a long way. I was a bit scared at first because it does have a oily/silicone texture but not as much. If that makes sense? And usually oils and silicone base texture breaks me out. But I never broke out from it! Which is great. My foundation melt into my skin with the primer. My face definitely looked smooth after. The only down side is, yes it is expensive. But in my opinion well worth it.
Laura from Indiana
Worth the price for the best airbrushing effect, with a high grip finish. This isn't a daily primer for me but I use it for specific looks or special occasions. A little bit goes a long way!
holy Grail of primers
Amanda from California
I looked for years for a primer that does it all... This primer did not let me down. I'm 42 and look better just wearing just the primer and no foundation.. seriously makes me look way younger and youthful than I actually am blurs all pores and makes your skin look flawless... I will NEVER use another primer again.
My holy grail primer
Mimi from Orange County Ca
I never leave reviews unless it's really good or really bad. This is my holy grail primer I have used all types of primer including super expensive brands. None come close to the way this primer makes me look way younger then my age. People have been shocked when I tell them my age. I'm not sure where all these negative reviews are coming from. This is definitely a winner. I have combination skin that is prone to acne with large pores. This makes all that go away just smooth beautiful skin.
JD from CA
This primer doesn't set well on skin. It makes my foundation looks very patchy, which doesn't happen when I use other primer. It moves when I apply my foundation afterwards. It makes my poor looks bigger than normal. overall, very bad product!
Lovely my new go to!

I'm so glad I bought this! I have oily and dry skin and this works great for me! It feels great to the touch and very posh!
I didn't love it. It's not made for older skin.

As a primer under makeup.

This made my foundation patchy and it wouldn't apply very well especially around the nose
Josie from CA
So good. Use just a little. My face looks so smooth and primer blurs my pores extremely well. I add just a little LM setting primer and the look is close to flawless. I do a touch up later in the day by applying LM setting powder and my face looks just as smooth as when I first applied the primer. You can also add just a tiny amount of Tarte primer on T-zone (if you have break thru shine) later day on top of makeup and looks great. Freshens up my look perfectly. It's actually more blurring than my go to Tatcha primer.
I love it

Love this primer! It's the only one that has kept my makeup snatched all day! Smile lines? Fine lines? Who is she? I don't know her!!
MUST have in my kit
RiRi from Jersey Shore
Usually dimethicone-based products leave me looking shiny because it allows the oil to just sit on my skin but this primer WORKS!! I don't look greasy, even after hours of wear. My makeup stays put.
