Most Helpful Positive Review Really works!
Really works to get the yellow out. The before and after is after 2 shampoos.
Most Helpful Critical Review Did not improve brassiness.
I used product every time I washed hair for about a month. I saw no difference while using this product. I would not buy again.

I use the shampoo every two or three days a week. I have dark Burnette hair. The reason I bought this was because I have white blonde chunky highlights. When I first used it, I immediately felt that the shampoo gives a soft, luxurious lather. Its very pigmented too. The purple is sparkly, deep purple, and has a scent of cucumbers. For those who don't like cucumbers... you should probably take this out of your cart. Also, the toning. It took a few weeks for the toning to really show results. But I love this product. I would buy it again, in the big size though. I enjoy using this shampoo even though I cut my hair boy short and don't have my highlights anymore. It's worth a buy!
it's just okay

smells incredible, doesn't dry your hair out, but it's not very intense when it comes to combatting yellow tones. my hair is as blonde as it gets before getting to white, and I feel like I need to use this at least twice to get it to the level I want that has no yellow before going grey.
This product was okay,

This product was okay, I had higher hopes for it. I've used other blonde shampoos and I felt like they worked a little better. I didn't think it took my brassy tones out good enough

My hair is currently brown but I often put blonde highlights in it. When I do, this is my go-to purple shampoo. It does a great job toning down the brassy orange and lightening it up to a nice beautiful blonde.

I use this a couple times a week, and it really kills brass/orange tones in highlights and balayage, it's very effective!
Super light and fresh.

Super light and fresh. Makes hair smooth and silky. Keeps oil away. Keeps my color on spot
I have tried so

I have tried so many different brands of purple shampoos. I'm talking all, from cheap to expensive. Nothing leaves my hair feeling as hydrated, smooth, and calm like the Paul Mitchell Purple Shampoo does. Lots of purple shampoos will dry your hair out but not this one!
This made my hair dry, and looks dirty. Not for me!

I put it on dry hair then let it sit for an hour. Wash it out then wash it again
I would buy again.

Just like it!
did nothing... for regular blondes not silver/ashy hair
Liz from Corpus Christi Texas
I have very very light blonde hair similar to the inside of a banana peel color after bleaching my light brown natural hair twice. I was fully expecting this to banish the yellow tones my t18 toner was not able to get in one tone to match the rest of my very ashy platinum white hair (It's what I've been doing for years) like what the shimmer lights always did. But this did absolutely nothing it seems like. I even put it on my hair again on my dry hair for around 30 minutes, washed it out, and my hair still had yellow tones in it like before. Long story short, do not buy this if your wanting a more silvery ash color hair. This is for platinum blondes not for silvery super light almost white/silver hair.

Improved overall hair color. Pleasant smell. Really hard to rinse out of hair.

This shampoo was absolutely garbage. It did not lift my hair up whatsoever, absolutely did nothing to my hair. Also left my hair dry. Do not spend your money on this shampoo. I would recommend the redken purple shampoo!
giving this product 1 star is a no brainer!
geo from San Diego, CA
i sadly bought this product 3 months ago and it's done nothing to my hair. My hair is not toned at ALL. I leave the salon with nicely toned hair and thru time it goes orange. I tried a different purple shampoo that my sister-in-law's recommended and after 1 use i was able to see A HUGE difference! so... DO NOT waste your money with this product try out Matrix Brass Off purple shampoo thank me later!
Other Shampoos for Silver Hair do not Compare

I can use this shampoo often. I have used other shampoos that are for Blonde/gray/silver hair, but none of them leave my hair looking as good as this product does.
Works on natural blonde hair
Mountain Mama from WV
My hair has always been a platinum blonde but as I age it has gotten a goldfish orange tint that I do not like. This shampoo seems to work pretty good to take the tint out without staining my hands or turning my hair purple. It is a bit drying on my fine long hair though.

I haven't found a product from paul Mitchell that I haven't loved yet.
Lex from Fargo ND
I used it, just like I use any other purple shampoo, but never got to let it sit long enough to see the toning power. 10 seconds in I could tell how incredibly dry my hair was getting, so I rinsed it immediately. My hair felt straw like until I had my next hair wash day. It was awful. I've worked so hard to get my hair feeling good and this ruined that in a matter of 10 seconds. 0/10.
Never again!! Hair falling out in chunks
Lisa from Menomonee falls Wisconsin
I got this product due to a lot of good reviews. I use professional purple shampoo but ran out so figured id give this a go. MISTAKE.
After 3 uses my hair is falling out in huge clumps, like cleaning your hairbrush once a month clumps. It's horrible! The smell is so chemical smelling and when trying to wash it out my hair felt like straw and I couldn't even put my fingers through it!!! I had to add conditioner on top of the shampoo just to be able to break through and wash the shampoo out. Worst mistake and I'm taking it back to ulta. Why is this product even a best seller? That's scary. 🤦🏼♀️
Awful for White Blonde Hair
Sar from Chicago
My hair was a silver/white blonde color, almost purple from my normal purple shampoo. I picked this up since my normal purple shampoo was sold out. This was a horrible alternative. It reversed my hair color and did the opposite of what it said it would do. My hair is now a pale yellow color and I'll literally have to get my hair re-colored to fix it. Do not recommend if you have super blonde/silver hair to upkeep the color. However, it did make my hair really soft and it smells amazing. Not for me though.
Great Blonde Shampoo!
Heidi from Kent, OH
I love this blonde shampoo! It really nourishes your hair, and tones the brassiness out. I'm also an avid Paul Mitchell user, because of their non-animal testing policy. They don't sell in China and do not test any of their products on animals.
Made my hair yellow!
Kayla from Tuscaloosa al
I didn't like it! It made my blonde hair yellowish.
Does not tone
Blondie13 from South bend
Honestly if u could give this one star I would. I left it on for 10 minuets, double what the recommended time, and if anything my hair looks more yellow. While it suds up nicely, once it's lathered it is white. There's no purple whatsoever. I do not recommend.
Works for natural blondes too
Jess from SoCal
My hair is a natural level 8 blonde with level 9 pieces hiding throughout. I think the water in my new house must have a bunch of stuff in it because it was starting to look a little dingy and brassy even after using a clarifying shampoo. After one use the level 9 pieces were so much brighter and the gold was just that instead of that orange tinge. In the sun, I kid you not, it looks like I have gold tinsel woven into my hair. The shine this stuff gives is crazy. I did not find the shampoo to be drying at all. The scent is really light and fresh. Plus cruelty free and vegan? Love it.
