I give myself frequent manicures, and I like this product (and I've tried many if them). It looks nice even on its own, if you want your nails to look finished but not painted, however, it chips pretty quickly if you don't cover it with anything (color or topcoat). I find it is best to put a very thin coat when you want to put color over it.
I have used this ridge filling base coat for years with good results. But in the last few months I notice that now it does not stick to the nail. The entire base coat, polish and top coat comes entirely off the nail in one piece and you find it on your desk or on the floor! They must have changed the formula so I will not be buying this again.

My nails don't last as long without using this. I've tried other luxury base coats.. they just aren't worth their value compared to this product. The only con is that it does thicken when the bottle becomes low and I'm uncertain if a polish thinner will effect how the product works.

I just got this home and I really like it! I intended to use it under my favorite Essie shade 'sugar daddy' but it took away the sheer pink hue that i love about that polish. Will try again with other polishes that would look good with a white vase, luckily I have the seche clear also.

Don't waste your money! Can't believe the reviews are as high as they are.

I disagree with a lot of the negative reviews on here. This base coat is extremely fast drying and does fill my ridges nicely before applying a polish. Additionally, I feel that it aids in making dark color polishes more opaque.

Use this product for the first time and it worked perfectly. My nail polish went on smoothly giving me beautiful polished nails.

Perhaps there had been a bad batch at one time because the bottle I got was awful. I tried several times to get a smooth coat, but it never happened. You can see it through the color polish and makes for an uneven finish. I'm going to try to return it, because it's just not right.

After reviewing some base coats I decided to give this one a try. I dislike it due to its bad smell, uneven wear, not long lasting, and feel that it does not help the color stay long.
Laura from Miami, Fl
This base coat is really awful. Its thick, doesn't actually create an even surface to paint, and didn't play well with Essie, Sally Hansen, or OPI polish. the edges of the base coat also seemed to always stay dry and visible despite being painted over

Gummy hard to create smooth finish

Brush is too thin.

I have used about five different brands of ridge filler. They all have their good points and do their job, but, with a con annoying enough to move on. Seche dries fast, goes on evenly and levels nicely. The thing that makes it different from the others is the discovery that it's malleable. What I mean is, if I accidentally bump a gash into it, with no time to redo the whole nail, I can wait until it's dry, but not totally cured, and press it back into place, enough to dot the spot for a quick fix.

Using this as a basecoat along with a good top coat, I've had no chips or repairs in over a week.

I wish I had found this sooner! I was really tired of buying super pretty and trendy lighter colored nail polish only to use it and have my nails look like a 5-year old did them or use 5 coats to completely cover the nail . I used this and it only took one coat of a light colored nail polish and my nails looked perfect like I had them done at a salon. The only bad part is that I feel it chipped a bit sooner than usual but I can deal with that.

Everytime I quit using this or switch to another brand, my nails start peeling and chipping. THis not only makes a smooth surface for the polish , it also strengthens the nail.

I used this product as a base coat with an Estee Lauder nail color and the Seche Vite top coat and my manicure lasted about 5 days which is longer than it usually does.

I use this when there are ridges on the nails. Great product. The Top Coat is the best on the Market

I love other seche vite polishes so I had high hopes for this. Hated it. Goopy and thick, applies poorly, takes a while to dry, and it actually made my ridges MORE noticeable. It also had a pearly white color, which I was not expecting. Returned.

I really like using this stuff on my nails as a base coat, I have nails that peel very easily so they aren't very smooth on the surface, this helps even it out. Once you get down a bit in the bottle it gets less easy to use though, it gets thicker just like nail polish for whatever reason and then it doesn't smooth so much as glump on your nail.
Laurash from Boston
It does exactly what it says! It's a ridge filling base coat that actually works to fill in ridges in the nail, making it a smooth service for color. I was surprised this actually worked. I like it a lot for a basecoat.

this is the worst nail base i have ever used. it totally damaged my nails! it made them very dry, brittle, and caused my nails to split and crack. it also caused my nails to yellow and i have never had problems with any other base coats except this one. it also smells horrible! skip out on seche base and save your nails.
