Most Helpful Positive Review A nurse's best friend
I am a nurse in a busy hospital. I use hand sanitizer/wash my hands over a hundred times per shift (I've counted) and this is the only top coat out there that will take that sort of beating for almost two weeks and actually keep the color on my nails without chipping. I use it with Orly's rubberized base coat. Sure, there's some wearing around the nail tips after a week or two, but it's only noticeable if you look closely and frankly, I couldn't care less about a little bit of wear because of the general longevity of this top coat. My hands dry out and crack before this polish does. Nurses can finally have great nails, y'all!
Most Helpful Critical Review Dries very fast, doesn't last long
I have been using this top coat for about six months. It is probably the best fast drying top coat out there - within 10 minutes, my nails are dry to the touch, and after 30 minutes, I can comfortably go about my day.
When I first started using this top coat, it was nearly perfect. Sometimes it would leave lines or globs of the top coat (since the formula is thick), but I was able to overlook it because it wasn't that bad. But over time, it became increasingly more difficult to use. The formula seems to have thickened to the point where it's become impossible to have a smooth application. Now when I apply the top coat, it drags and leaves an extremely streaky finish, and after a few minutes my polish will shrink. I've found that the only solution is to simply replace it once it gets goopy and ruins your nail polish.
Overall, this top coat does its job amazingly, but it quickly becomes frustrating to use. It's probably only good to use for about 2-3 months. I don't want to have to replace it every couple of months, especially when it's nowhere near finished.

If your nail polish is at least this much per bottle, do yourself a favor & lock it in with this top coat. It smells like paint thinner, but dries quickly and hardens/smooths any nail polish. I use over natural nail manicures & it easily lasts a week as I cook, do dishes & play with the dog. I can go 1.5-2 weeks with only a few chips. It has a thick consistency which I personally like as it kind of forms to your nail & evens itself out while drying. The one con is that once you get down to the last ½ or ⅓ of the bottle it starts to dry & get stringy & can be difficult or impossible to apply.
ALWAYS MY GO TO!

I LOVE this top coat. This is my first choice following Holo Taco's Super Glossy Taco (top coat). I've tried so many fast drying top coats but nothing has ever topped this one. LOVE IT!

I LOVE seche vite top coat. It is the only top coat that I use. It is so shiny and smooth. I love the consistency of this product too. And it dries super quickly.

This will be the only top coat I buy from now on. I did my nails on Monday and today is Saturday and there are no chips and no wear on my nails. They are hard and shiny. This product goes on easy and dries very quickly and definitely gives you a nice look! So glad I discovered this polish.

Seche Vite Completes my mani.

I have natural nails and I do my own manicures at home. I have used Seche Vite Dry Fast Top Coat for years on my nails. Seche Vite dries my nails quickly and gives my manicure a fantastic shine.
Katie from Missouri
When I first started using this top coat I was impressed with how fast it dried and the glossy finish it gave my manicure. Over time though, I noticed no matter which polish I used it would chip within HOURS of drying. I really wanted to love this top coat, but I can't stand my polish chipping so soon. I would not recommend this top coat if you want your manicure to last longer than a couple of hours.
Using this for many years!

Fast drying and beautiful shiny finish. I wouldn't buy any other product for top coat.
Used it for years.
The ONLY topcoat I will use.

I don't know what kind of magic is in this bottle, but whatever it is I'm to the point where I literally cannot paint my nails without it. You can apply this to even still-tacky polish and it will be dry enough to continue on with your day within minutes, it's seriously amazing. The number of manicures this has single-handedly saved and the amount of time this topcoat has saved me is honestly insane. The only (slight) gripe I have with this is how fast the bottle dries up and gets too thick to use, but that's a small downside I'm more than willing to accept when a product is as good as this.
The best. Except the bottom of the bottle.
Meg from IL
The bottom gets goopy and I can't ever use a full tube. But the best top coat!
Used to love it
Emily k from Ohio
Used to be my go to but now find it too thick. It's great when you first use it but it begins to get very thick almost like rubber cement after a few uses. It also shrinks your polish. Also instead of chipping the whole polish will come off like a sticker. I prefer other brands now over this.
Ahh, Good Ol' Seche Vite!
Allie from Idaho
Seche Vite has been my number 1 favorite top coat for the past 10+ years and I refuse to use anything else on myself or on others. In fact, when I was in cosmetology school, back in the day, I used to empty out my bottles of CND that we were "supposed" to use at home, clean them out and refill them with top coat from a bulk sized bottle of SV. Say what you want but I mean, I'm the one that paid for all of it.
Seche Vite is the only top coat I know of that is actually meant to go on before your polish dries, it dries your polish incredibly fast, makes your mani last FOREVER and last but definitely not least, it leaves your nails so shiny you'll just want to keep staring at them in awe. I highly recommend this top coat and no others. Well, actually, fine...there is ONE other top coat, an indie brand called Glisten and Glow that has a top coat called "HK Girl" and it comes in as a close second to Seche Vite but I believe it is more expensive and it can be hard to find. Seche Vite is rad AF. Buy some! You won't regret it.
Thick and peels
Jasmine from St. Louis
This top coat is so thick. It's almost like it's already old. My manicure clipped the next day and by day 5 this literally peeled off my nails leaving the color behind. I don't see how this gets so much hype
Not for me
CP from Maple Grove, MN
Read stellar reviews before deciding to purchase, but discovered this product is not for me. Used twice and found it lasts 2 days on my nails. Will not personally use again. Review ingredients list to make your own decision.
Nail lover from Connecticut
This is probably the best top coat I have used in a long time. It seriously holds its shine, and the products overall application is so smooth it's insane. Only problem is that it chips within hours of doing any type of household chores, so don't think the price is that worth it, but Seche makes my nails look so amazing!!!
Great Top Coat
DebMarPir from Foxburg, PA
I usually find my polish peeling within a couple days. This made it last maybe 4 days before I was peeling, my nails looked better and this stuff dries fast!!!!
Renizzle from North Carolina
I've used this Top Coat for a long time. It isn't the absolute best I've used but I love that it's readily available.
Best Top Coat Ever
Caragon from Forest Lake, MN
I don't think I'll ever use another product. This works so great, it is dry before I know it, has great shine, I can't say enough positive about it. I think I'm on like my 8th bottle, maybe more. I don't even look at other brands for top coats, this is the best and I can't say enough good things about it.
My Favorite Top Coat
Corrine from Vermont
This is, in my opinion, the best top coat out there for almost any polish. It provides a super glossy, quick drying, hard surface to your manicures. My polish tends to bubble no matter what base coat I use, how thinly I apply it, how long I wait between coats, or how I prep my nails; but if I use this polish, that doesn't happen and my manicures are perfection! With this top coat, this is my basic routine: clean previous polish from nails if any with pure acetone or clean bare nails with acetone on a cotton ball or pad, wait 30 minutes to dry. Apply 2 layers base coat, waiting 5-10 minutes between coats. Apply polish color of choice, wait 5-15 minutes between coats. Use a thin layer for the first coat and a slightly thicker for the 2nd coat (but still thin, just thick enough so the layer is even). Making sure there is no polish on the skin around my nails (be careful, you can remove any small mistakes using either a wood cuticle stick to remove it or a small brush with a bit of pure acetone, but if you have a big Oops, start the nail over), then apply 1 generous layer of this Seche Vite Top Coat within 3-5 minutes of my 2nd coat of colored polish. I don't wait too long for the 2nd coat to dry before applying this top coat or I start to get bubbles (but even if I do see them start to form, if I get SV on rather quickly, they will melt away). Use a clean wooden cuticle stick or metal cuticle stick to remove any top coat that may have pooled on the sides. Let dry for 10 minutes and then apply a drop of cuticle oil to the nails. This will help your nails slip if you accidentally brush your hair or something soft but let it dry at least an hour before continuing with your day. Just be careful the first few hours because you can still dent it a bit but it will harden up faster than other top coats and it melts and adheres to the polish underneath and cures it very quickly. The only downside to this stuff is that it will get thick and gloopy towards the end of the bottle, or if you hold onto it for many months. Another good top coat I've tried is Orly Sec N Dry, so if this doesn't work for you try that. That one isn't quite as glossy, and I haven't tested it on as many different types of polish, but I recently pulled a bottle of that from my collection after a year of not doing my nails (it was mostly full) and it was still very liquidy and good while my similarly full bottle of Seche Vite was dehydrated and gloopy. I used the Orly Sec N Dry while I waited for this bottle of Seche Vite to ship to me and I had good results on top of a fine glitter China Glaze polish. The Orly is thinner than Seche Vite which can be beneficial for some people, but the Seche Vite is glossier. I was impressed, but the Seche Vite is my all time favorite and gives me more perfect manicures.
