Most Helpful Positive Review I think I found my new Holy Grail foundation! I read/watched reviews that talked about the controversy with the old version of the Shape Tape foundation. However, I also saw that Tarte listened to their customers' feedback and made changes to improve the product, which is why they came out with the new Face Tape foundation. I had never tried Tarte foundation or any of their other products, so I didn't really have a bias one way or the other. I am so glad I gave them a shot! I have been on the hunt for the perfect foundation for months now, and I think I finally found it. The shade range is so broad, and I was relieved to find that Tarte offers shades for all different undertones as well. I got shade-matched with 12N and 12B, but chose 12B because it had more beige than golden undertones. I was really happy to see that the color did not oxidize! Since Ulta does not offer samples, I went ahead and purchased the bottle after the sales associate let me know that I could always exchange for a different shade if I got it home and found it didn't work for me. I wore it today for the first time - put it on at about 7:00 am and I am now writing this at 8:00 pm and the foundation has not worn off! In fact, I think it looked better as the day went on! Perfect match for my skin and has a nice, subtle scent to it - kind of a natural, clean, botanical smell - but not overpowering at all and you can't smell it once it's on your skin. Also, it doesn't feel like you're wearing a mask - super lightweight consistency for a full coverage foundation. I have dry, sensitive skin and this did not irritate my skin at all.This foundation did not cling to any dry spots and did not look cakey. It does dry a tad bit fast, but is easy to blend so that did not bother me. It does play nice with other brands of products, and didn't wear down when I put on my setting powder, blush, and highlight. I also liked that it had a blurring effect to my pores and didn't settle into fine lines. I will be going back for the Shape Tape concealer next!

If you have very problematic skin, this may work for you. The coverage truly is amazing. Just until recently, I have been plagued with very pigmented skin (got on a skin care regimen from the dermatologist). As a result, I'm very use to matte formulas and I can work quickly with a brush. I have mastered the technique of making matte look natural! This formula probably would not work well with a newbie as this is very matte. Very matte, and mask-like. Actually, not mask-like, but plastic-like. As a rule, I kept it on thinking my oily face would make it look natural in about an hour. Well, I was wrong again. I looked like Barbie minus the perfect figure. 😂
I initially decided just to keep it because it was my fault for not trying it on in the store besides a quick color match and I felt embarrassed at the prospect of returning it because I knew better... Alas, my dissatisfaction outweighs my embarrassment. Not only does it look like I have on a plastic mask, it transfers and it cracks. I don't have wrinkles. It cracked at my nonexistent smile lines. It is simply too expensive to keep just to not use it.
I have always had nothing but good things to say about this brand, but this formula is just a bust.

I bought this online and my Tarte Amazonian Clay match is fair light honey. This foundation is less drying in comparison to the Amazonian clay. I have combo oily acne prone skin. I have a fair-light neutral leaning yellow undertone and that shade matches perfectly. I tried this shade in Face tape and it was very pink in comparison. I decided to return it since I couldn't swatch it in store. I think light sand maybe would've been a better match, but the foundation itself was satin matte, does have fragrance but wasn't detectable, it is not transfer proof though and I had the worst breakout of my life after trying it. I don't know if that was a coincidence or not. It was pretty similar to Loreal Fresh wear except it didn't have as strong as a fragrance.

I use this on days I have to be out the door super early and know I won't be back until late. You have to work quickly as the product sets fast. I do use powder over this, but it works beautifully for me.

I got this foundation because I love their concealer. I must say I was disappointed with this product. When a first applied it definitely felt oily but thought maybe it was my skin. I gave it a few tries but every time I wore it my face did not look too good. It made my face oily and this foundation does not last.

Literally my favorite foundation! Never lets me down and I don't need to use that much only a pump and half ! And with that being said it lasts a long time! Only thing I'm sad about is that it acts a little funny with fenty lavender powder i have.

I have very uneven skin due to Melasma and hyperpigmentation. Just one dot covers well and evens my skin. I'm so happy with the product that I turned my 77 year old mother on to it and she loves it! Great product

I used a pea size with a foundation brush. Very unhappy as it was too heavy, matte and sunk into wrinkles even though I put very little on. Seemed to dry my face as the day wore on. Color was too light for me but it was a close as we could get :(

This foundation is full coverage and looks AMAZING!! It stays all day and looks amazing all day as well! The only problems I had were with the packaging but nothing that big where I couldn't use the product!! :)

can't speak for anyone else but this is by far my favorite Foundation !! it gives me full coverage, it's really light on my skin and it blends in sooo wonderfully !! I had got this foundation back in April of 2020 and we are almost at the end of the year and I still have a half of bottle left !!

I love this stuff! I've been using it for years. I guess I've been used to using other foundations where I had to pump several times. With this I apply with with a foundation brush and go back in with a beauty sponge. It's great!

I wanted to love this. I have extremely oily skin. I read great reviews, and I tried hard to love it. I tried different setting sprays and primers. 2 stars because it does cover beautifully!!!! I think if you don't have too oily skin, this would be perfect. Knocking off three stars because you could visibly see the oil on my face. I could barely touch my face and the makeup would come right off. Disappointed with how it set, but loved the coverage. Also not a huge fan of the scent, but that's a personal preference.

I use this product daily for a smooth, polished look. Application is good, though with my normal skin I felt a primer was needed to ensure smooth application. The product is long lasting and does not change color like others I have tried did. I am very happy with this product and would recommend to others looking for a full coverage foundation.

I loved the shape tape concealer and was looking for a full coverage foundation to cover my melasma (impossible) used it for about 6 months (yes same bottle) but the color wasn't right during the summer so I switched to estee lauder and although the color was much better the coverage was just not there, shocking i know, so back i went to shape tape, now I've bought all their foundations during the sale, even none of them stack against it, it's just that good, I have dry skin & it blends like a dream, I dont really use powder unless I have to but when I do it doesn't cake although setting spray is a must to rehydrate. overall I really like it and would recommend to anyone looking for a high coverage liquid.

It was not full coverage and did not blend, even with a beauty blender. It looked horrible and exacerbated skin texture.
