Most Helpful Positive Review Chicken skin (Keratosis Pilaris)
I have to first start off with the fact that I have Keratosis Pilaris, aka also known as chicken skin. It is a chronic skin condition that has affected my life since a young age. I have it on my entire leg, forearm, and the side of my cheek. It is red, bumpy, and downright hideous. It has made my self concious of what I wear, like shorts or tee shirts because then they can be easily seen. I thought I would have to use the commercial smooth away to exfoilate deeply in my skin to prevent it from being seen visably.
Doing my research online this product was recommended because of the ingrediant in it (forgot the name of it) but I have to say this has improve the texture of my skin. It has gotten rid of my bumpy issues and I am so grateful to have softer skin. It is though a bit bumpy but compare to how it was before I will gladly accept this result! Using it with the smooth away additionally, the redness has subsided and the result is i'm less bumpy, the dots are less noticable, and I'm happier with my skin. I have been using this lotion for about 2 months now and I am extremely happy! Highly recommend :) If anyone who is suffering from Keratosis Pilaris this is a holly grail that is affordable! If you dont have this condition, well you can see the great result from a person who has suffered from bumpy skin to now a softer body.
Most Helpful Critical Review Not for me
I bought this product because of positive reviews for sensitive skin. I was having a reaction to some other products and at the tail end of that recovery when I tried this. My skin was parched and it moisturized well but as soon as I rinsed my face in the morning my skin was more inflamed than before. I'm thankful Ulta has a great return policy. While this product is not for me, you may want to give it a try. Everyone's skin is different. If you don't like it, Ulta will accept the return.

So we love cetaphil cleansers they are smooth and have no smell which I prefer personally. I washed my face with the cleanser and I dried as I normally do and one I got to the moisture lotion I used one pump and it was left flaky and didn't moisturizer my face it didn't blend well into my skin and I just hated it so it f you like products like this you do you but they need to make this formula a little bit thicker not to thick.

I didn't want to leave a bad review, but if you have a nut allergy do NOT buy this. I did not see a warning or anything, but after breaking out I realized it has nut oil in it. If you're breaking out from it, make sure you're not allergic to macademias.
Be very careful with this

This is a nice moisturizer, but if you have oily skin I would skip this as it's more suited for someone with dry skin. It sits on top of the skin, doesn't fully absorb, and leaves a gross layer on your skin. The old formulation used to have avocado oil in it, which is a huge trigger for people with acne-prone skin because it's extremely comedogenic, and after the reformulation they replaced the avocado oil with macadamia oil, which has more healthy benefits for the skin. This caused my skin to feel extremely greasy within hours of applying it and it caused me to start getting those painful pimples under the skin that you can't pop. I threw it out and switched to the moisturizing cream for the body and I love that one so much more.

I've used this for over 6 years and never had any issues with it but now it seems like it does nothing but sit on top of the skin. I remember this sinking in and making my skin hydrated but not oily, plump, and glowy. Not anymore. I've been searching elsewhere but nothing truly matches up to how this used to be. So disappointed :(
Broke out in red bumps!
Redhead Molly from Houston, Tx
It helped the dry skin, but then two days later I was completely broken out where ever I had put the lotion!
I LOVE THIS PRODUCT

It does what it says it's supposed to do. That's all I have to say.

Love how it makes my skin feel and it doesn't feel like I'm wearing a mask over my face but that my face can actually breathe.
Keeps My Gentle Skin Moist and Soft
Sunnysmiles1 from San Jose, CA
I use this product immediately after showering when my skin is damp. It helps lock in the moisture and keep my skin soft and younger appearing. It does not have an aroma and it does not make my skin allergic. It is very gentle and yet it is mighty in caring for my skin.
I would buy this product again

Body? Sure. Face? Nope.

If you are buying this more for your body then I'd say give it a shot. I bought this more specifically for my face though and it didn't really do a good job for me. It definitely hydrates dry skin, but that's pretty much the only good thing I can say about it. It left my face greasy (I have dry skin), skin sticky with residue instead of soft even after hours of application, and it gave me acne. This wasn't for me.
I am not purchasing this again

I have combination skin. Very oily with some dry patches. Years ago my dermatologist advised me to try Cetaphil cleanser. I recently purchased the moisturizer & cleanser. I thought oh it must be a good brand if a professional is recommending it to me. NO. The lotion did not soak into my skin at all, it sat on top and gave me a waxy feeling. I didnt like the cleanser either, it is much more watery than I remember and I feel like it does not clean my face. The ingredients are not the best either....
As for breakouts, I have not noticed any new pimples however I stopped using this lotion after two days, thats how bad it made me feel. Greasy and not clean.
It would make sense why some people broke out though, this product contains silcones, which can act as a 'barrier' and trap oil, dirt, and dead skin cells, making acne worse.

I dont know what happened to this formula. used it for 3 years and it would leave my face glowly and soft all day when i paired it with mad hippies vitamin c serum underneath. now it breaks me out :(

It looks like a lightweight lotion but it feels really heavy and oily on the skin. My boyfriend hates it on his skin as well. I try to use this on my body but it won't rub in and it leaves this weird white streaks that takes some time to sink into the skin. Really strange formula.

I put the lotion on my face its not sticky at all
I don't like it
Ali from Philadelphia, PA
I don't like the texture of it, as well as how it is sticky on the skin and breaks me out.
Azi Perfections from Michigan
I use this product every day after my show and I apply a good amount. It stays on throughout the day and I have dry skin!

This is better as a body lotion. This made my forehead break out really badly.
NOT for oily skin
Erin from 35244
This product absolutely does moisturize.....it also causes you to break out in crater-sized zits at 35. It's really sad because the Cetaphil daily cleansing face wash is great for normal to oily skin but this moisturizer left me with acne all over my face. The worst part? My chest was a little dry so I smeared it all over there, too. Guess I won't be wearing any v-necks for a week, either. Gave it two stars because it probably does wonders for other skin that isn't already oily since it is moisturizing.
hanny from alabama
this personally just didnt work for me i have fungal acne (tiny bumps) and it made them wayy worse i love the consistency of it but its not worth it make me breakout so much! i use it for my legs and arms but thats it dont buy cetaphil with intention of using it on your face!
Feels so nice but breaks me out
Jordyn from Colorado
I have a hard time trying new moisturizers because I want them all to feel as thick and hydrating as this one. I keep trying new ones because this also breaks me out. I'm not sure what the issue is but I just get tons more blackheads and whiteheads when using this.
lilly from us
i bought it as a moisturizer and its very good and not too heavy
Not a lightweight moisturizer but IT WORKS

This is not a lightweight moisturizer but IT WORKS! Also for the amount you get compared to the price this is a steal!
There's a reason why all derms love it

I think Cetaphil is the best thing going-it's cheap and it works better than anything. I have EXTREMELY sensitive skin and this is the only product I've used that does not cause more issues. Rich enough to feel really hydrated but it sinks in rather quickly so you don't feel slimy.
Lin from Mississippi
My dermatologist put me on Spiro and within 6 months my skin has gone from oily to combination/dry. I also have sensitive skin so I have to use hypoallergenic EVERYTHING. I've never had dry skin in my life and I've been struggling to find ways to combat rough/bumpy skin. This moisturizer has completely changed my skin and I'm in awe. I highly recommend this moisturizer for dry/sensitive skin. I've only used this on my body so I can't if it works for face.
