Most Helpful Positive Review a nice surprise
Wow! I was truly surprised with this product. It worked well with my thick, coarse, curly hair. My curls were defined and not frizzy at all. I really liked that it didn't leave a film on my hair which I have found some curl creams do, so it didn't dull my hair or leave a tacky feeling. It looks shiny and smooth. I can't believe it. Don't know how it would hold up in high humidity, but for Wisconsin winters, it seems well suited. Will have to wait to see how it performs in summer. Right now I'm loving it!
Most Helpful Critical Review Does not do what I needed it to
This product does not keep curls well-formed; if anything, it causes them to be pulled downward into loose waves (and I have very naturally curly hair). That said, it is also is not great at controlling frizz. Many less expensive brands are better, such a Marc Anthony Strictly Curls.

I have used Sebastian products for years and love them. Potion 9 has always been a go-to for my straight and naturally curly hair but it can leave the hair a little crunchy if you don't like to scrunch your hair. This curl cream settles my frizz and defines my curls very well no matter where I travel. I love that my hair feels soft after using it. I find the product does not pair well with some conditioners so even with my naturally drier hair I use it after sulfate-free shampooing without conditioner and my hair is still well-moisturized. I have sensitive skin so I try to keep it away from my roots near my face because the shea butter will start coming onto my face over time. I tend to break out easily with hair products containing butters and oils but this cream keeps my skin under control (more than 95% of the time) even if I get it some on my face... I tend to not sleep with my hair covered too!
Sebastian Styling Cream
Mellow from Joliet
This product is excellent. I have natural wavy thick hair but I prefer in the Summer to have more curly hair so I don't have to blow dry it. I use the curl styling cream on my ends and it stays all day with the curls. No hard crunchy feel to it. Looks naturally curly. I wouldn't use anything but this product. LOVE IT! Thumbs up!!!

My curls have great shape and no frizz! Smells great too!
Rocco848 from Arizona
I received a sample with my order. I have heavy, thick, wavy shoulder length hair. I used it as directed and it made my hair crunchy as it dried.

First styling cream that enhances my curls. I have multiple curl types that can look unruly and frizzy easily. When I use this after I shower, all I have to do is scrunch it into my hair lightly and bam! Perfect curls and no frizz, I don't even have to twist my hair. Love!!!
Best curl styling product I have found!
Kate Zizzle from Fort Collins Colorado
It defines my curls so well and easy to you. Great for those scrunch your hair don't care type of days!
The best for curls!
Breena from Girard, Ohio
This is absolutely the best product for naturally curly hair. Keeps the curls soft, not greasy or stiff, and it smells wonderful!

my mom loves it she puts a little in her hand and light rubs it through her hair
Curly Kue from Palm Coast, Fl
My mom and I both have curly hair and love this product. She uses it before setting her hair with curlers and says the curls hold and last beautifully all day. I use this after the shower and let my hair air dry and I've been getting so many compliments about my curls I've just got to leave a review. I hope it works as well for you as it does for my mom and I.

It does what it says: weightless, not sticky. I have fine, thin hair and I found that this actually gives it a lot of volume....once my hair is COMPLETELY dry. While it's wet and still drying, the product looks and feels horrible- crunchy and makes my hair flat. It's so strange. Pros: weightless, volumizing. Cons: not a strong enough hold, doesn't control frizz well, contains isopropyl alcohol which is drying.
Dried out my curls
AA from Wisconsin
Too heavy for my 3A/3B curls and really dried out my hair. The only thing I liked about it is the scent, which is a clean fragrance.
Does what it says on the first day, glad I used a coupon
tropical girl from FL
It smells great although the fragrance is like a perfume (not clean, beachy scents like others). It's strong to start but the fragrance does fade away. I was easy to style my hair and leave it to air dry with this cream. My locks only lasted the day I used it and the next morning it was gone so don't expect to have the 'look" until your next shampoo. I have thick wavy hair and I live in Florida so the humidity may play a big role too. I did not think it weighed hair down and did not leave a greasy product behind 2 days after applying. I would recommend it but I would definitely use a good coupon on it. I won't run to the store and pay full price for it though. I prefer the Moroccanoil Curl Defining Cream to this one (lasted longer) but it's more expensive too.
This straightened my hair

Wanted this for days when I let my hair dry naturally; need to tame frizz and encourage curl. There was no frizz, but no curl whatsoever either.
Amazing product - anyone with curls should have this!
Caitlin from Cleveland, OH
I am a huge fan of DevaCurl products, but they sometimes weigh my very fine curls down while defining and taming frizz. I had tried the Sebastian Whipped Crème which was very lightweight and defined my curls somewhat, but I felt like I needed to use 2 pumps for my shoulder-length hair and the bottle was gone within a few weeks. Then I saw this product and wanted to try it. I love it! It truly works great to define my fine curls, make my hair more curly than usually, while not losing any volume with the lightweight nature. My curls look soft and touchable - this product does not make my hair feel like I have a ton of product in it and is not crunchy like gels. My typical hair regimen is using DevaCurl wavy hair shampoo and condition (lighter formula for my fine hair), followed by a very small pump of DevaCurl Supercream Coconut Cream Styler and a quarter size of Redken Thickening Lotion 06 into damp hair (to help with volume). I let my hair air dry while I do my make-up and such and then put 1-2 small pumps of the Sebastian Twisted Curl Styling Cream into semi-damp hair then blow-dry upside down with a diffuser. I follow with the DevaCurl flexible hold hairspray, a touch of the DevaCurl Supercream if I still have major frizz, and a couple pumps of the DevaCurl Finishing Spray which seals in moisture. If I want a touch more volume, I also like a couple sprays of the Drybar Triple Sec 3-in-1 at the roots. After adding this product to my hair regimen, I've gotten a ton of compliments on how nice my hair looks. Definitely a must try - you won't be disappointed.
Curls for days!!!!

Used 4-5 pumps and dispersed all thru my hair. Next day my hair still looked great
Just got my hair a lil wet with my hamds and refreshed the curls.
Does not weigh down curls
FrankieL from Washington, DC
I have a lot of curly but fine hair. Devacurl weighed my hair done too much. I find the smell of this cream to be a bit strong but nothing too bad.

Best for curly hair
Curly from New Mexico
Makes my (naturally) curly hair managable! Settles the frizz and organizes the curls without being sticky or crispy. This product smells amazing too. I would buy it by the case since it is the last curly hair product I will ever buy. I am over 50, with color-treated hair. Seriously, Ive had multiple people ask me what I use on my hair. It is that good!
Wonderful For Wavy/Curly Hair!
Christine from richmond, va
I actually received a full-size bottle of this in an Ulta Free Sample bag months and months ago. And while I have thick, wavy to curly hair (what this is geared toward), I've used so many products that have let me down, I just shoved it with the rest and forgot about it. Then, one day, not getting the waves I was hoping for, I gave it a go on towel-dried hair just for the heck of it. The picture is after an entire day busy with daily life and there are still nice curls and waves going strong! No stiffness, chemical smells, or heaviness. When this free sample runs out, you can bet I'll be paying for another!
Sebastian Curl Cream
Mellow from Joliet, Illinois
This product is the "bomb." If you want curls and curls to stay, this is the product I would suggest. I tried other curl styling products and this one is the best. It smells really good too. I would highly recommend this. I have thick hair and I use to straighten my hair with a hot iron for years and years. No more, love my natural curls and use this product and out the door I go.
Great Product for Fine Curls
TT from Grand Island, NY
I have tried many styling products for curly hair from mousses to gels, but Sebastian's Twisted Curl Styling Cream is the best I've ever used. I have curly hair, but it's very fine, so heavy products just with it down and pull the curl out. This cream is light enough to help shape and hold my curls without weighing them down. Also, it doesn't leave my hair greasy looking if I comb through it the next day before washing my hair again.
frizzed my hair
allie from Sacramento
I was hoping id get a product that would dry out my hair or cause a hard crunch. this wasnt any help, it made my curls into waves and made my hair super dry and frizzy.
Oooh That Smell!
GenXGeekGirl from Atlanta, GA
Not very creamy. Didn't detangle well. But worst of all - it SMELLED. Returned ALL the Sebastian products I purchased during the Spring Haul. Not moisturizing. Not effective. Too stinky.
Rnr66 from Alabama
I applied a small amount of product into damp combed hair and worked through evenly. It did result in more defined curls but I ended up with serious tangles resulting in breakage. Very disappointed. I will go back to my previous product.
Sebastian Twisted Curl Cream
Lynn from Fishers, Indiana
I try every product they make for curly hair. I love Sebastian Whipped Cream but am not impressed by the Twisted Curl Cream. This product has a strong smell and weighs down my hair.
