Most Helpful Positive Review Honest & Detailed Review I received the InStyler Turbo Max Iconic Dryer to try in exchange for my honest review. With that in mind, here is my honest opinion about the Turbo Max...
I got this dryer almost a week ago. I didn't post my review right away after my first or second test run, as I wanted to truly see what it did over a long period of time...I wanted to be honest about how well it did or did not work; as well, I wanted to be honest about it's capabilities, like keeping my hair from drying out or frizzing. Because let's be truthful, you want a hair dryer that does many things all wrapped into one.
So every day for the last 6 days, I've dried my extremely thick, wavy, long and often frizzy hair (particularly after a few days of blow drying it in a row) with the Turbo Max. I used no extra products in my hair to control it, nor did I do anything different outside of my normal hair care routine.
The first day, I was very pleased. My hair seemed to take way less time to dry than it usually does with my other two dryers that I rotate between, as each serves a different purpose; furthermore, I found the cord to be perfect in length. I could peek my head out to check on the kids, yet I wasn't playing jump rope with it. That was a nice surprise! Second and third day, I realized the Turbo Max really was drying my hair faster! I wasn't frantically running around to finish getting the house ready, like usual after blowing my hair dry. I actually had time to spare! This is a big deal for me, because time is always so scarce in our house. And honestly, more often than not, I don't have the time to waste on drying my hair fully. It simply takes way too long. I tend to only get it semi-dry, before I have to call it quits and go out for the day with partially damp hair...which is then unmanageable the rest of the day.
Now for the last few days...same! I was done before I knew it, and I actually had the time to dry it all the way!
But here was the even bigger test for me...would my hair feel coarse, frizzy and dried out by the end of a daily blow dry for a week straight? I've had many "fast drying" and "anti-frizz" dryers (hence the reason I alternate between 2), and they have yet to do both, while keeping my hair feeling healthy. Verdict: YES! My hair this morning looks great, took less time, and feels even better! I am honestly amazed. I didn't expect it to do everything all in one. What a great product!
So my honest opinion...InStylers Turbo Max dryer is the real deal! It has a great look; it is not too big, bulky or heavy; it keeps your hair from drying out and damaging after many uses; and it most certainly does cut the time down significantly. I think everyone needs one. And if you don't trust me or my review, then test it for yourself. You will fall in love.
Great product, Instyler! Thank you for delivering on your word and product! Kudos!
Most Helpful Critical Review Wanted to love it but not hot enough I wanted to love this product since there was so many great reviews. I tried it on my naturally curly hair with my own diffuser. This worked pretty well. The next time I tried to blow dry my hair straight. This did not work at all. I usually dry my hair with a paddle brush and then go over it all again with a ceramic round brush. With my old dryer it left my hair straight and smooth but was damaging. I decided to try this, as it seemed less damaging. Sadly, it didn't matter since my hair was just a fuzzy mess. There was no way to get this dryer hot enough to make my hair straight. I had to give up and go get my old blow dryer.
Reviewed by 320 customers Amazing hairdryer! 5

Bought this hair dryer for my mom with Carpal tunnel. Her previous hair dryer was heavy and the buttons were right where her fingers rested and kept turning off. This hair dryer is amazing! Super light and the button placement is amazing because you can't accidentally hit it. Hair dries super quick and the cord is so long. Worth the investment!
Love this blow dryer! 5
Deanna from Fullerton CA
I love this blow dryer. My hair dried quicker than it did with my old dryer and looked amazing afterwards. My hair wasn't frizzy like it normally is after I dry it.
Worst hairdryer I've used as a stylist. 3
SchoneNacht from Alabama
This is the biggest waste of money I've ever spent on a tool for work. The amount of frizz caused by this "frizz reducing" hairdryer is crazy. Its a hunk of junk. I won't even use it on myself.
It's Dead!! 3
Lisa from Los Angeles
Stopped working and have only had it for 6 months!! Do yourself a favor and buy a cheaper one, they last longer!!!
Not for people with thick coils or curls 2
Dom from North whales pa
Has good rating but I'm disappointed cause dryer gets very hot but it doesn't have enough power (straighten) for thick coily hair
Salon worthy 5
Brooke from USA
Y'all. I have never seen a blow dryer with so much power. It dries my hair in 10 minutes and it leaves it soft and shiny- barely any frizz! I've only had it for a week, so we'll see how it lasts but so far it's amazing.
Stopped working after a year 1
sadblowdryerbuyer from san jose
I rarely blowdry my hair so I was surprised that it just broke after barely a year for no reason. I would recommended to splurge on another brand or even a cheaper one since cheaper blow dryers I've used actually perform better.
Nozzle never stays on. 2
California Day from Virginia
I have been using high end blow dryers for decades. I and my daughter have long layered hair that gets blown dry with a round brush. My friends have me dry their hair. I know how to use a blow dryer with skills. This nozzle comes off every few minutes and flies across the room and is too hot to touch to put back on. I have never had this happen with any other brand. I contacted the company and they sad they would replace it. They have not. Spare yourself the morning frustration- spend an extra $50 and get a different brand. Also it's loud. My kids can hear it at the far end of a long hall.

Loved it- but then it randomly stopped working...didn't even have it 6 months :(
Super fast dry 5

I love this! Feels like my dry time is cut significantly.
Didn't last a year! 1
Tara from Texas
Such a disappointment! Mine died this morning after 10 months!!! Would NOT recommend! For that price, it should've held up much better!
Dries hair fast 4
Nicole from Mountlake Terrace, Wa
I would have given it five stars if I could change it so it doesn't blow so hard. My hair tangles easily when using a faster blowing speed, but I figure the "turbo" ion setting halls to make up for it.
Definitely better than your average hair dryer 4
Lee from Flemington, NJ
This hair dryer is aesthetically pleasing, pretty light weight and not too loud. I like that it doesn't get super hot and that it has a speed dial instead of buttons so you can customize your speed. It is a little pricey but much better quality than your average dryer. Gave 4 stars because I don't know yet how long it will last.
Love the Turbo Max blow dryer 5
Round Brush Julie from Northville, MI
I love this blow dryer. I previously bought the white turbo Instyler blow dryer, which I loved as well. I wanted to try the new technology with the turbo max. I actually will be buying the white turbo for travel, though, because it is lighter weight. I have straight, fine hair and use round brushes on my entire head; this dryer dries my hair very fast without drying it out and having fly-away strands.
It really works! 5
Lilia from Hawaii
I have a lot of hair but this hair dryer dries it up fast and my hair feels smooth!
Highly recommend.
I love this Blow dryer! 4

I use it everyday to dry my hair.
Just Alright 3
Philomena from Pennsylvania
Bottom line-- Not impressed but my hair is still healthy.
I got this Instyler blowdryer about a year ago. I bought it mainly because I was interested in the customization feature. Not impressed. It is lightweight but there's also a cheap feeling about it. The nozzle has knocked off a few times when putting back into my drawer. I can still put it on, just a little annoying that it happens.
The customization part is just the airflow. You can use the dial to adjust it. I don't really need that kind of customization with air flow. Honestly, I mainly use the one speed and typically don't change it. I keep going between the heat settings of high and low. I do miss not having a medium heat setting though.
My hair isn't very frizzy after using it which I think might be due to the blowdryer maybe 30% but more due to using heat protection like Kenra or Eva NYC spray. I have thick color treated and highlighted hair so I try to use something that won't fry my hair. I have to say, I thought about returning it a few times after I bought it. It's better than my cheapo Conair though. I only kept it because my hair is still in good shape after using it a few times a week.
Motor stopped working / smell coming from the back 1
Becky M. from Rochester Hills, MI
This hair dryer stopped working after around 11 months - 1 year. The motor slowed down, took forever to dry my hair (and my hair is thin) and the final straw was recently when it started to burn and smell. Horrible! So upset. :(
Stopped working after one year! 1
Becks from Rochester Hills, MI
After around 11 months - 1 year the motor started to smell and it does NOT blow dry my hair. Horrible hair dryer and NOT work the money. AT ALL! So upset. :(
I would by again 5

I have so many compliments the next day after I used them,my coworkers thought I went to the hair salon.Love it!
motor burnout 3
Mirandar from Greeley Colorado
I bought it earlier this year and it's already dead. The motor makes a horrible sound and smells like it's burning. The only redemption is that I bought it on sale.
Not worth it 1
Court from Pennsylvania
Not as powerful as other blowdryers. Stopped working after 6.5 months. Complete waste of money. Liked the ionic feature for my hair but overall this dryer is a piece of garbage.
There's actually a difference! 5
Diz from Citrus Heights
This hair dryer is lite, easy to use and handle...and it actually does dry my hair quicker and leaves it softer. I'm so happy I made the purchase.
Does not blow low enough for short hairstyles 1
LV Breeze from NV
Returning. I have been searching for a hair dryer that truly has a VERY low blowing setting since my Hot Tools hair dryer died 2 years ago and they do not have a similar replacement. I have tried several other brands that say they have 'infinite settings' or 'customizable' like this one. But they just do not go low enough for short hairstyles! My hair dries in about 2-3 minutes with a blow dryer that has standard blower speeds. It is very hard to control the styling if the hair is dried too fast and can, in fact, end up plastered down flat rather than given any lift. This hair dryer is not different than the others I've tried recently, it does not go low enough. Why bother?
Just a wonderful hair dryer! 5
Ruthina from Oklahoma
I absolutely love this hair dryer! I even ordered the travel one. I hope it works as well as the full size one.
