Most Helpful Positive Review Calming & Redness GONE!
I have combination skin where half of my face is acne with painful red, irritated skin and other areas of my face are very dry, inflamed patches of skin, especially in the winter months.
I was super excited to receive a complimentary sample of Aveeno Ultra-Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30 to try in exchange for my unbiased review because my face is currently in need of some serious calming.
I used a very small amount of the lotion after washing my face, it had a nice light, natural scent. It was not greasy at all and very quickly absorbed in my skin. As soon as I finished applying the moisturizer my face immediately felt soothed, calm, very fresh and lightly hydrated. About 10 minutes after application most of the red inflammation that is typically very visible and bright had vanished. Hours later, my face still was not greasy, felt calm and hydrated. I absolutely recommend this product to anyone looking for a moisturizer to calm and lightly hydrate, extra points for SPF protection!
Most Helpful Critical Review Sadly Disappointed
I usually don't have to give terrible reviews on products I receive from the Home Testers Club, but Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer SPF 30, but it's a horrible product; at least for me and the people I let try it in the last week. I live in Las Vegas, NV and I tried Aveeno Ultra Calming Daily Moisturizer before I started my day, made sure it was rubbed in and left the house. I didn't have far to go so I walked where I needed and a few people were giving me weird looks. I didn't understand why until one person point out that my face had white powder like strikes on it and my hair line had turned white. When it dries, it turned out like that on me. So I gave it another try when I went to the Rec Center to go swimming and put a decent amount on (yes it was rubbed in) when I got in the pool and swam for a bit the Moisturizer started to smear or sorts. It was a bit odd as I've never had this happen with a moisturizer, let alone an Aneeno product. Disappointed.

I tried out using this product after liking the spf 15 ultra calming moisturizer. This works much differently. It left my skin looking flaky and pale. It's very difficult to rub into the skin since it dries up almost immediately. I haven't been able to see if it's good as a sunscreen yet because I was scared for anyone to see me with it on. Do not use this product.
What I was looking for
Milldar from NY
For some reason as I am getting older, my complexion has become more sensitive, unlike the normal-to-combination I had previously, so I looked for ones made for sensitive skin. I also wanted to have one with a 30 SPF (I work in a dermatologist's office, so that was a no-brainer), and products of this type seem to be a little hard to find. I have used Aveeno moisturizer and suntan lotions and love them, so I thought I would give this a try. It works perfectly on my face, and it has a very lovely light scent, which is just as important to me; life is too short to wear something with a scent I dislike, especially on my face. I do not have a problem paying top dollar for a specific item that I need, but this is also surprisingly affordable. Definitely will purchase again.
I love the fact that it is not greasy.

I absolutely love this product, but having said that I really hate trying to get the pump to work! Even after pumping it multiple times I cannot get more than a tiny bit to come out.
Not the best, but it works
Sydney from WI
I got this product a couple of months ago because I was looking for a cheaper skincare routine so I figured that I would try Aveeno. I initially started using it on the weekend and it worked pretty good. Then when I went back to work and used it under my makeup it left me looking so greasy after a couple of hours. As time went on the product started having issues with pilling and just got worse with each use. Despite all this, I gave it 3 stars because it did do what it said it would. My face didn't break out with this product and it really did help to reduce the redness on my face after about 2 weeks of use.
My dermatologist recoemmend it! Glad he did!

I use it under makeup or on it own. I feels nice on the skin. It softens the skin so I can apply makeup.
It's works good

I don't understand why their is so many bad reviews I recently bought it & been using it for a while already & ive had no problems at all, I have super sensitive skin.
Just glad to finally find a face sunscreen that has worked out for me

I've seen plenty bad reviews I guess it just depends on your skin. I have sensitive skin & I love this product it makes my skin feel moisturized, it blends well, I have no problems at all with it. It's actually my favorite so far. Don't go based off the bad reviews it might work out for you like it did for me.
It's okay ish

It's super annoying to blend in, you have about .5 second LITERALLY before it dries in a white splotch and then leaves chunks of white in every single pore.

This is definitely not the greatest moisturizer that I've ever used but not the worst either. I feel that this product is misleading when they say that it's fragrance free because it does have a distinct smell. To me, it smells so similar to the scent you smell when you open a new box of shoes which is oddly.... satisfying? Weird, I know. Also, the product feels a bit sticky but it does absorb nicely into the skin. However, my face doesn't stay hydrated for long. On the plus side, after about a week of use I have noticed that my redness has gone down while using this product with the ultra calming night cream and face wash, so there's that.

I was excited to try this product due to its description of alleviating redness on the skin since I have just a few areas on my face that are a bit red, but i was really disappointed. First, the consistency is a bit tacky and sticky, it made it difficult to glide smoothly my face as I usually do with other moisturizers. It does absorb on the skin fairly quick, but I would say too quick. If I accidentally rub on an area I had previously applied the moisturizer, it looked like residue was peeling right off. I didn't think much of it at first. Later in the day I noticed my skin looked so dry and cracked like it's never been before in areas I never knew were dry. I wanted to give it a chance and continued to use it for a week before I was sure that this was just not right for me. It did not make my skin looked moisturized at all. It did the complete opposite.

I returned this product. It pilled and did not absorb well. I can purchase many products with mineral SPF that are lotions and don't pill (dispense with clumps of product that don't absorb well).
The lotion does not blend well on my skin.

I have used Aveeno for about 4 years now and it is still the only face lotion that leaves my skin glowing, but this face lotion specifically has left my face with a weird smell and I it does not feel like a moisturizer, it feels more like a sunscreen. I'm usually a bit generous while applying moisturizer on my face, when I did it with this lotion it left my face white. I bought this one because of the higher SPF, but I think I'm going back to this same product but with a lower SPF.
This made me break out!
Lilyn from Denver
I have *loved* Aveeno products and use their lotion constantly, so I was so excited to see one specifically for sensitive skin! Using this, however, caused me to have the worst breakout. I took a break from the moisturizer for a few weeks, my skin cleared up, and as soon as I used it again for one night, my skin broke out again! I have sensitive skin, but have never used a product that gives me breakouts like this
I will be purchasing again!!

Very impressed with how smooth my skins feels after application. Love that this is a mineral SPF moisturizer, will be purchasing again and again.

I was looking for a moisturizer that wouldn't sting my skin. This feels so nice!
Great daily moisturizer!

I have been using this for a few days and here is what I have gathered:
It's very thick, and doesnt take makeup super well.
It doesn't smell like sunscreen!
It is still very breathable even though it is thick, and leaves my skin with a weird powdery finish before it completely absorbs.
The pump stops dispensing product after a few uses.
Not sure about this one!
My_Beauty_Charm from Pennsylvania
So hers the thing, it is super greasy and thick but what bothered me is you need to cover your face with the foundation after because it leaves a very white and pink color all over your face. Kind of like 5 year old children when their mommas put sunblock on their faces and it stays white the whole day. Really good formula because it does calm redness but not good for everyday protection or naked faces that want to look beautiful.
Thank you for using mineral sunblock!

It's very hard to find an affordable mineral sunscreen daily moisturizer at a drug store and this one is awesome. Thank you for choosing mineral sunscreen here, never change it!
False Advertisement - Not Fragrance Free
Sharon L from Irvine
I am sensitive to synthetic fragrance and always try to avoid those in my skincare. This prodoct is labled as frangrance free but has a very strong scent that does not go away. When I put it on my face, it bothered me for hours, evern worse than other products that do contain some frangrance. I did some research and found out that dihydrojasmonate in the ingredient list is a frangrance. Note that it is pretty high in the list, meaning there is a lot. This is false advertisment and should not be torelated.
Would not waste your time
Jess from Wisconsin
I live in Wisconsin, it's super cold & dry, so I like to use hydrating sunscreens. This one was not it by any means. I was so hoping it work too! I have sensitive, rosacea and dry skin. This did not moisturize at all! I used my daily moisturizer underneath but this sunscreen leaves a heavy film feeling and shows every dry patch, plus sinks into fine lines. Makeup looked horrible over it. The only positive, it did not irritate my skin at all.
A good choice for those with sensitive skin or redness issue
Senior Gal from Chicago, IL
I've only been using this product a few days. Did a skin patch test before applying to my face, suggest you do the same. Aveeno products are gentle, reducing any worry of a negative reaction. So far I like the product and it seems to be one of the few moisturizers with a mineral sunscreen which is recommended for sensitive skin. It also has natural oat and fever few also recommended for sensitive skin. I also like it applies smoothly and any white cast helps with hiding my redness issues. Will continue to use.

Feels good on the skin and keeps skin moisturized all day
Jacey L from undisclosed
I used this only for 3 days and it broke my face out SO bad. I have combo/sensitive skin and 3 days after using it my face broke out into cystic acne. Probably some of the worst acne I have ever had and the only thing I changed in my skincare routine was using this face wash instead of my other one. Terrible. Will never be using this again.
Causes breakouts for sensitive skin!
Aeb21 from undisclosed
I was really excited to try this moisturizer. When I applied it, my face burned for about 2 minutes, but I ignored it because it went away and my skin felt very soft for the rest of the day. The next day I woke up with breakouts all along my cheeks and under eye area.
