Most Helpful Positive Review Great used with Caution When I first received Redken Brownlights Blue shampoo/conditioner, of course, the color was the first thing I noticed. With the distinct color, I decided to do a little research before trying the product. I read many reviews about the discoloration of showers and nails. But after some thought, I decided to give it a try.
To begin with, I took before and after pictures of my nails. I was cautious, not overly cautions, but aware while showering. I was careful to not overly splash while rinsing. Being aware definitely helped to not discolor my all white tile shower and/or my nails. I also use white towels, which had a very mild blue in them from drying my hair. This easily washed out with 1 cycle through the washer, no special treating needed. Next, the smell was very nice, like you have just left from a salon, each time you wash. The conditioner is much thicker than the shampoo and should be used with a bit more caution. Also, I do not scrub my head when conditioning, like I do while shampooing, which I have noticed leaves a little blue residue on my scalp that easily comes off at the next wash. Now for the product results. I tested the product over a 2 week period, washing with normal shampoo between washes. My hair has multi color highlight/lowlights so this was perfect for me! I made sure to take pics after each wash to see the progression. So far, after only 4 washes, I can definitely tell a difference in the brassiness. The orangish/brass color is slowly coming out and my hair looks great! I would highly recommend this to anyone with multi color hightlight/lowlight hair that is turning brass color, with the understanding that you have to be cautious during showers to prevent tub/tile and nail discoloration.
Most Helpful Critical Review I probably will not purchase again. I washed my hair with the shampoo and conditioner. After drying my hair it continued to make my fingers blue. I had just had my nails done with a very light pink color and the product will not come off the end of my fingernails. Every time I run my fingers through my hair even a day or two after washing I continue to get blue on the tips of my fingers. I rinsed and rinsed several times to be sure that the water would run clear. Even after making sure it was all out of my hair it continues to turn the tips of my fingers blue when I run my fingers through my hair. I will not purchase the product again for this very reason.

I do recommend using gloves as the blue gets everywhere so if you have a manicure be careful. I found it didn't lather up as much as i expected but it's only been one wash so i need time. I did feel like my hair had product deposited and felt a little heavy after use. The smell was fine and not overwhelming imo.

I had previously colored my hair with red semi permanent dye, and most of it came out. I got this to take care of what was left along with some brassy blonde natural highlights. I've used it five times so far, and my hair has definitely gotten darker. Caution, make sure you rinse WELL, or you may end up with a blue scalp. It is messy. I do like the scent, and my hair doesn't feel dry after using it.

I am growing out previously dyed hair and wanted to tone down the orange tones (my naturally color is a smoky/ashy dark blonde/light brown). I used this with the shampoo, and was a little worried that even my grey hair might turn blue, as both are a striking blue out of the bottle. I used as directed (minus gloves - it washes right off your hands). Even after many uses, I don't see a difference in my hair color. It *does* turn your shower a spectacular shade of blue, but given how easy it washes off the shower and hands, there's little worry of staining them (or your hair).

I will start with a positive. I love the scent. It's very pleasant and long-lasting. The product dyed my scalp blue and was messy to use. It did not help with the brassiness in my hair at all. It also left my hair dry and brittle feeling.

my hair dresser recommended I get a blue shampoo or conditioner to upkeep my balayage ashy color on my natural dark brown hair. I did not have Brassy hair before I applied this, but did it to prevent the brassiness. I left the product on for 10 minutes and rinsed. I'm looking at my hair now and it's Brassy :( I'm going to try Joicos blue shampoo and conditioner to see if it corrects it, if not, I'll have to go back to the salon to get it fixed. This product just cost more money.

I love the way these smell it's masculine but it smells really great and the smell doesn't stay in your hair if you don't like it . I would definitely recommend this I used this on a wig I had that was yellow to tone it done and it looks so great now .

Bought the shampoo and conditioner, used as directed and ended up with brassy dried out hair. I had to apply a hair mask after and my hair still feels more dry than it ever has. Will be returning to Ulta tomorrow with brassy hair as proof for a refund. Label warnings are frightening, include causing blindness if it gets in eyes. What is in this stuff?

My hair gets really rough feeling after I get my highlights done. It's very hard to brush, it kind of feels like dead grass. After using this conditioner my hair felt softer and easier to brush. As I continued to use it my hair was so soft easy to brush all the way through. I do like that it is blue as well I feel it's for better protection. Would definitely buy these products.

I was sent the Redken Brownlights shampoo and conditioner to review. I was able to use them a couple of times, but unfortunately they made my scalp very itchy. I discontinued use for this reason. I do tend to have sensitive skin, so this may have played a factor. Both the shampoo and conditioner were very pigmented (and actually caused some minor, temporary staining in my shower). I didn't notice any major difference in the tone of my hair after using, but as previously stated, I wasn't able to use them for an extended period of time.

I love using matching conditioner if I can and I truly love the shampoo that matches this conditioner. I think they both brighten my brunette highlights. Unfortunately this conditioner is too heavy for my hair. I try to go at least every other day on shampoos but if I use this conditioner by the next day my hair is stringy and weighted down. I received this product as a #FreeSample to test.

I love my New Redken Brownlights Blue Shampoo & Conditioner. I have been using it 1x wee in between regular shampooing. I prefer using gloves just Incase because the shampoo is purple + brown. My hair is beautiful soft and shiny. My brassy highlight are beautiful and long lasting. I would definitely recommend to everyone with brown hair to keep your hair color fresh and shiny.

Really enjoyed using this blue conditioner by Redken! It really brought to life my hair color and worked nicely... My only critique is that I wish it would lather up a bit more but overall it was really easy to use and worked great!

Tis conditioner is an excellent compliment to the Brownlights shampoo. The shampoo does some great work and this conditioner adds the moisture back in my hair I need to style my hair. My hair looks great between salon visits

I have been a fan of Redken products for many years now. The conditioner did make my hair feel soft, right after using, but I can't really tell a big difference. You have to make sure you wash it all completely out or it will stain. I will not buy this conditioner and would not recommend it to friends.

Having never used a toning conditioner, I didn't know what to expect. It was so blue! I felt like I needed to rinse for ten minutes to get the blue off my skin and hair. Luckily my shower is blue so I didn't need to worry about it getting stained. There were also a lot of warnings on the label about the dye. I would not purchase this in the future.

I have only used this product in combination with the redkin shampoo and when used together, my hair is soft silky smooth. The toning is helpful too! It smells great and my hair looks healthy when I use it consistently.
I would say that of the two products the blue in the conditioner stains more of my shower and hands. I usually spray it down after I'm done just to be safe.

This really conditioned my hair very well, the only issue was it was very blue and felt slimy when putting it on but it rinsed out well and the smell was outstanding. It made my hair in a few weeks look alot healthier than normal. I definately would recommend this and the shampoo together. I was afraid I would look like a smurf after using it, but that did not happen :) Recommended!
