Most Helpful Positive Review I'm a guy but I have to say this is perfect for anybody
This product really helped me with my oily skin. I have super oily skin and would always just leave my face un-moisturized for the day after I wash it in the morning. It would actually cause acne because of not giving my skin the needed moisture but I would still be fairly oily around my T zone as girls say.
With a regular moisturerizer you risk breakouts, with this product you get a moisturized face, almost no acne after the 1st-2nd week, a matte face, and blemishes fade after awhile. I'd recommend this as a good facial lotion to anyone with oily skin or combination skin. In no way is this drying plus it's all natural. This is my second purchase of this item. It's awesome. 6/5 stars.
Most Helpful Critical Review Cause Cystic Acne Breakout
Really irritates me when products claim to help prevent blemishes and actually cause them. I should have known better to try without first looking at the ingredients and received a not so nice cystic/nodular blemish. After looking at the ingredients, I found Laureth-4 to be the culprit. Laureth-4 ranks the highest, 5, on the comedogenic scale for clogging pores. If you are not familiar with Isopropyl Myristate and its Chemical Cousins, here is a few words on it:
One of the worse offenders is a penetrating oil called isopropyl myristate, the major ingredient in a can of penetrating rust remover, Liquid Wrench. Isopropyl myristate helps cosmetics apply more smoothly and gives them a slicker, sheer feel. This particular penetrating oil is so aggressive that if left over night in a beaker will actually migrate over the top, down the sides and onto the table top. There are many chemicals similar to isopropyl myristate in cosmetics.
The most common are: isopropyl palmitate, isopropyl isothermal, putty stearate, isostearyl neopentonate, myristyl myristate, decyl oleate, octyl sterate, octyl palmitate and isocetyl stearate and PPG myristyl propionate. All must be avoided, as must other surfactants such as laureth 4.

before i was using a moisturizer that felt wayy to heavy for my skin but this moisturizer is amazing, it's super light weight and has a watery consistency- my skin feels so good after putting it on, but i wasn't expecting it to smell so strongly of tea tree oil lol
I love this product!

I have been using this product morning and night for the last few years. It is light weight and helps keep my skin clear and beautiful.

Ever since I found this tea tree mattifying line from The Body Shop, I've been in love! I have pretty normal to oily skin and so it definitely is important to note the MATTIFYING aspect of it was what really drew me to it. The lotion is good, I use it in the morning as it doesn't feel like the best hydrating moisturizer to for my nighttime routine. I did find that if you don't use a proper serum or moisturizing toner/mist underneath, it will cause your skin to feel tight and almost TOO dry which was rare for me. Once I figured that out, it's been working really well! Great for skin clearing and getting rid of some dark blemishes. Overall great product.

It doesn't control my oil at all but it does dry down to a matte finish, and as someone with ridiculously oily skin that nothing other than blotting or setting powder can control, that's enough for me.
made my skin too dry
Hannah from Seattle, WA
I was looking forward to using this product because I have oily skin, however, when I used it, it made my skin way too dry. It felt like I didn't even put moisturizer on :( It did mattify my skin, but made my skin feel quite uncomfortable and dry. I would recommend to a friend but only if they had really, really oily skin.
Great for oily skin

I like this lotion. I think depending on how sensitive your skin is you should use this when you need it like for dates, events, etc and use a good nighttime moisturizer so you don't get dried out. I didn't have that issue but reading the other reviews, that would be my suggestion. It's lightweight, didn't feel greasy, didn't feel tight.

I was so excited to try this line of products because I have extremely oily, sensitive skin. I was really looking forward to this lotion but after a month of continuous use I still have terribly oily skin. It made zero difference. I'm giving it 2 stars because it doesnt irritate my skin and it doesnt dry out my skin either.
Not for Sensitive Skin
Tam from United States
Although this might be great for people with really oily skin, for someone with combo-oily, this was absolutely terrible. I used with their Tea Tree Foaming Face Wash and Tea Tree Toner, which might have been excessive, but this was the worse of the bunch. It burned when I first applied it, but being naïve I assumed that it meant that it was "working". Used it for about two weeks before I began to get many dry, flaky patches, even in my T-zone. I tried just using the cleanser with a different toner and moisturizer, and lo and behold no more dryness and burning. Avoid this product if your skin is even a bit sensitive, unless you plan to go ham with hydration in your other skincare steps.
It really does Work

I have super oily T-zone and it really mattifies my face for 5-6 hours, which is really great so someone that does not like to blot.

I have oily, acne-prone skin and have used Clean & Clear oil-free moisturizer for years. My skin is shiny so often that I decided to switch.
The Body Shop is a personal favorite (loveeee the face washes!) so I picked up the mattifying lotion. Unlike lots of other reviews, I didn't mind the strong tea tree scent. It left a white powder-like film BOTH times I tried it. I couldn't add more moisturizer to correct it and had to wash my face again.
It wasn't the best lotion match for my skin however I still love the brand.
I like it.

This works for me personally. Moisturizes, looks matte, and adds more tea tree oil to my ongoing battle with pesky skin bacteria and fungi.
MUST BUY (oily skin)
Gigi from Miami
Can I say wow! I just started using it and I see a major change on how oily my skin gets! Must buy!! My foundation seems smoother and less cakey
Helps with oiliness
Stephoo from Raleigh
Without this, i look like a grease ball. The smell is a little weird but it does away fairly quick but it definitely controls my oily skin. Definitely recommend this, haven't had any side effects or redness or puffiness.
Works for me
Kat from San Antonio
Have been using this for a couple years and seems to be the only moisturizer I can use day and night for my oily/combo skin. I use a pea size amount for my whole face and it works on my acne in my T-Zone. If I try something else, like E.L.F hello hydration I started to break out on my cheeks. I don't get cheek ance from this.
This stuff is HORRIBLE
Becky from Missouri
I have tried using this twice and will be returning it. My skin is bright red and puffy after using it. It causes a fairly intense stinging/burning and it smells HORRIBLE. Do not buy this!
Oil bag from State College
I love this product it lasts me an entire day! I have to apply a good moisturizer prior to this application though since it dries my skin out a little bit. If I have a scabbed over pimple it makes that area of skin look a bit flaky. Also it smells like tea tree oil (duh) so if you don't like the smell I wouldn't advise using this. The smell only lasts for about the first 5 minutes on your face then fades away.
Great for oily skin

Noticed difference in 2 days. Perfect for oily skin. Smells good too
DO NOT BUY.
Ally from Papillion, NE
Never buy this product. I regret not searching it first. I struggle with constant acne, and I was doing good when I started a new face routine. I decided to try out the lotion and the toner. Both made my face sting and feel incredibly dry. At first I thought it might be normal until researching further. Someone literally had to be put onto antibiotics because of this stuff. It is horrible for your skin. Absolutely stay away from it.
Great for pimples

I use this product every single day just for the fact that I see results whenever I use it. It's the only product I use that has salicylic acid, I can't use too much of it or else my face begins to peel but this product is just right. It definitely gives you that mattifying look. Works well under makeup too. I highly recommend!
Shannon from Elkhart, IN
Well worth it. It moisturizes without clogging pores or oilifying the face.
E from PA
Even with dry/combination skin this mattifying lotion isn't too drying on me (I use this during the day and a heavy moisturizer at night to hydrate). It's especially perfect for days without makeup when my skin tends to feel greasy by the end of the day - not with this lotion. T-zone stays matte, and my dry skin doesn't dry out.
Mari from California
I was using all the tea tree line products. Thinking it was helping. It wasn't this made my face sting. Then weeks after using I started getting small bumps that looked like breakouts and clusters. Finally I went to the doctor and put me on antibiotics. Basically she explained the tea tree oil was clogging my pores and causing an allergic reaction to my skin.
Becca from North Carolina
I've rebought this bottle five times already! I never leave the house without it on and usually wear it under my makeup too! It keeps my face matte the whole day without sucking all the moisture from my skin. I have acne prone/oily skin and this doesn't break me out at all. It has also has nice smell and cooling effect on the skin. Just wish it came in a bigger bottle
