Most Helpful Positive Review Amazing! Made me stop using foundation!
This product exceeded my expectations!
Great smell (smells like lemons)
EFFECTIVE against blemishes and dark spots
Moisturizing (compared to other toners that leave me feeling dry)
Okay, so when I first used it, it felt somewhat sticky and I didn't like the feeling, BUT after just the 3rd day using it, I saw immediate results!
My blemishes- gone. If I had any forming throughout the day I would use the toner at night so when I wake up, they disappear! My dark spots- I think the lemon ingredient is the natural exfoliator that also helps with brightening/evening skin tone. And scars from pimples, blemishes, and around the nose also faded extremely well.
The only caution I would give is to USE SUNSCREEN. Regardless of what toner moisturizer you use, using sunscreen really protects your skin barrier from early aging, sun spots, and wrinkles. That being said, using sunscreen with this toner is a MUST because the lemon ingredient makes your skin sensitive to the sun and could cause redness.
Nonetheless, I might buy another 3 in case E.L.F, for some reason, stops making it lol. This is probably the best toner out there for the price and quality.
Most Helpful Critical Review BURNS YOUR SKIN
Where do I even begin ... bought this toner bc I saw really good reviews on it, so why not?? I have dry/combination skin & this BURNED sooo bad. The burning lasted for a good hour, def do not recommend & would not buy again. I sprayed my face with my Mario Badescu skin care (the green one) since it has aloe to see if it would cause some relief to my skin but it didn't. I tried applying some of my Tatcha dewy skin cream to see if it would help & the redness was still there along w the burning sensation. I tried this toner for a couple of days after regardless of the burning sensation because I've read that sometimes it's because your skin is getting used to it but it's been a little over a week & the burning is still there & just as intense, my face turns soooooo red.

It's hasn't been too long since I've gotten. this, and I already see a major difference. My face looks brighter and my acne is a lot less red! 10/10 would recommend
worth a little redness!
chelsea from California
As I have somewhat sensitive skin I only use this product 3 or so times a week. I do get decently red for a little while after application but it doesn't burn more than, say, some clay masks do. I've used it for a couple weeks now and I do feel like my skin is smoother and brighter. Be advised if you have any blemishes that you've picked at or dry spots, this may sting a little.
Absolutely the worst!

I absolutely love toners and I absolutely had to try this toner based on all of the wonderful reviews, well I don't know what the heck I was thinking! This is the worst toner I have ever used. My skin is not sensitive at all, and this thing made my face burn and feel super hot, and dried my oily face literally. I thought if I gave it a few more days it would change, nope same result everyday. My face burns, and is super dry. This toner is absolutely horrible! This is precisely why I don't even bother with this brand in the first place...

I was suspicious with this, I only buy high end toners I feel they work better, BUT THIS! The smell was intense, super lemony. But I gave it a try and girlllll after 2 days I was GLOWING. I would wake up super matte and soft...I believe due to the chemical exfoliating. I also struggle with LARGE pores and those are blended into my skin, you can barely see them! Highly recommend :)
Non-sensitive skin burned and crazy red
Laura from Indiana
I used it after cleansing one night, followed by my normal moisturizer and parts of my face started turning crazy red and burned. Never had this problem with any other type of skincare, I regularly use Ordinary products, including chemical exfoliants so not an issue there. Smell was not that great, but the packaging feels and looks nice. Good price, but sadly I'll be returning this ASAP
Product isn't harsh in the skin
EMathis1 from Bryans Road MD
I like that this product isn't harsh on my skin, and it has a pleasant scent.
I would purchase again

Brightens up my face
Read directions prior to use
Pauwilo from Honolulu
Directions say to use ONCE per day in the EVENING. This is the best time since you are not exposed to sun. I recommend using an alcohol-free, witch hazel based toner in the morning or afternoon if you are feeling extra oily. I am 55-years old with medium tone, normal skin type. This has been a great product for me to brighten and even out brown spots from earlier pregnancies and aging. Test this on the inside of your wrist BEFORE applying to your full face if you have a known reaction to alpha hydroxy (AHA) or if you're unsure. I've had outstanding results are just two weeks of regular use. Good luck and keep trying out other products until you find a combination that works for you.
I will keep buying this product !!
Lex from Atlanta,Ga
I use this every morning on a cotton round and a hydrating toner at night . My skin in so bright and soft . I'm on my 3rd bottle lol it's soo good and cost friendly !
Was not for me...
Izy from wilder
I dont really know my skin type but generally considered myself a combo skin with some dryness. but now I think I have sensitive skin because this burned my face and left it red the first time. I tried it again just in case it was just that time but nope my skin is bright red and stinging a bit even after trying to wash the toner off.
I also used the elf wash so may together it was too much.
Do not purchase if you aren't using SPF
greeneyes from Florida
I've enjoyed this product, I do not recommend it for people with sensitive skin. Keep in mind this a chemical exfoliant so if you aren't keeping up with your SPF daily you should not be using it because it can cause more harm than good, the sun will be way more harmful. I've noticed nice results and if used correctly it really does even your skin tone.
Smells like toilet bowl cleaner
Chrissyscocoa from Winston-Salem
The lemon/vinegar/acidic smell was so strong and yucky that I immediately washed it off my face. Returned to store. I wonder if the smell was from the product being old or naturally the way it comes. Couldn't do a testing or sampler in the store.

The fragrance is very irritating. Harsh and burns the skin. I wish ELF made simple ingredients and fragrance free. The Ordinary Glycolic Acid Toner is a great replacement.
Works great for me
Smiles1712 from Athens
This toner is definitely good with a moisturizing night routine. I have sensitive to combination skin so this alone does give me redness. I typically us it after washing my face with oil free face wash. Once I use the product and let it settle I use vitamin c oil drops followed with oil free hpf moisturizer finished with a hydrating face spray. I have definitely seen a different adding the toner making my dry patches disappear. My makeup does better and my skin over all is looking great!
Abytnar from Arizona
I couldn't use this. The smell is nasty. Had to wash my face off after using it.
Ouch, but I can see how it could work for some.
Amanda from Mission Viejo
PRO: Affordable, no denatured alcohol (common in toners, can be excessively drying), nice packaging.
CON: (for me) LEMON PEEL OIL.
Burned like I was a witch on a stake. Immediately red, wanted to itch my skin off. I did not realize there was lemon peel oil along with other fragrant oils, so that was my mistake as I have selectively sensitive skin, I can handle glycolic acid but cannot handle essential oils because that makes perfect sense. I'm going to take the 'L' on this one.
If you have *strong* skin, maybe on the oilier side, I could see how this could be a lovely affordable product with AHA to resurface uneven skin texture/brighten.
*Always remember to use sunscreen in your routine with this product and others with AHA/BHAs. You are more prone to sunburns because they are 'dissolving' the outer layer of dead skin cells.

This product didn't work!!!!!!!!!!!it broke me and my moms skin.
Steph from Ohio
Absolutely love this. I love the tingle it gives. Which it states you will due to the aha in it. It will tingle/burn slightly. However with the benefits it has my skin is loving it definitely. My complexion is so much better and smoother! My absolute favorite toner this year!
KK from Woodhaven, MI
This product is OK. I have combination skin and it tingles a bit when I put it on, just noticed it's now making my skin very red wherever I touch it with the cotton pad. I probably won't buy again. There is a heavy lemon smell but it does say citrus acids - I don't mind the smell but I don't like the redness.
Used once and never again

One of my favorite toners!

I love this product! At first I was skeptical because of how affordable it was but it honestly is underrated. By far one of my favorite toners and I tend to have sensitive skin so that says a lot.
Stef from Michigan
Smells so strong on lemon and that's obv not good for your skin. And it burned every time I put it on.
Steffany from OC
I have combo/sensitive skin, the smell is too much & burned my face, left my cheeks super red.
Eh, did nothing good for me
Kimmie from PA
it's a nice concept for a toner. But I have combination skin and it made me worse. Its not for sensitive skin for sure.
