Most Helpful Positive Review works great I originally bought both the Antioxidant Natural Sunscreen body and face lotions over a year ago and didn't particularly like them. However, I decided to buy another tube of the body sunscreen a few weeks ago to give it another try. Surprisingly, I now like it. I use it on my face (the body and face formulas are virtually identical except that you get more product in the body tube) mixed with a couple drops of argan oil to help with a more even application and for it to be slightly more moisturizing (zinc oxide sunscreens can be drying). It does leave the skin whiter, but in a more brightening way rather than clown mask pale. Although this product is an spf 30, it actually feels lighter on the skin than the Evenly Radiant Brightening Day Cream SPF 15 which I had previously been using. I now prefer the Antioxidant Natural Sunscreen SPF 30 for body to use on my face. It has stronger sunscreen protection, applies more lightly, and is generally more aesthetically appealing. Also, it comes in a tube which is much more convenient and sanitary than jar packaging. Recommended.
Most Helpful Critical Review White cast and pilling I have dark spots on my face and needed a strong sunscreen because I am using lighteners for my dark patches. Ulta was sold out of the "face" version of this sunscreen, so I got this one instead hoping it could still work and because otherwise it fit what I was looking for (physical sunscreen that is reef safe). Also, I use a lot of Derma E products, I like the ingredients they use, they are cruelty free, etc.
I will continue to use this product until it is out and will also use it on my body when I am outside, but on my face... yeah it's not great. My tips are to apply it in REALLY small sections. After putting it on my skin, I have about 5 seconds to rub it in before it just starts pilling, making a huge mess. So I started to only squeeze out a tiny bit, rub it onto two fingers, then quickly do a small section of my face. This technique is not perfect, there is still some pilling and def leaves white cast, but I then take a small wash cloth and just dab my face lightly to pick up some of the pilling.
So long story short, maybe the face version of this sunscreen is better? Try that if you are needing sunscreen for your face. Otherwise, I would still recommend this product bc it does look decent after doing the application technique above, it doesn't cause me to breakout and because it is so thick I do feel protected when I wear it.

I like that a body cream has a mineral sunscreen in it.
Meh 3
JulieS from KS
I love the clean ingredients and good price point, but it doesn't run in very well, leaving a white cast. It also doesn't make my skin feel very hydrated and it's hard to wash off. But it's still better than going with no protection.
I would buy this again 5
Mari from New York, NY
Such a great product! Leaves no white cast on me and it doesn't have a sticky feeling after, feels like a moisturizer.
Great! 4

I really like this product!
Does not blend and peels off 1
Gloria from Toronto, Canada
Honestly unless you're paper white, this stuff gives you a white cast, very noticeable especially when you have olive skin. Derma E all your other products are superb, though please change sunscreen formula as it cannot cater to anyone of colour.
Only use a little at a time 4

hard to rub in sometimes, but no burn
I will continue to buy this product! 5

I use this as my facial sunscreen (using other cruelty free, zinc oxide-based sunscreen for body. This suncreen is light, blends into face without leaving much "white" color. A drop goes a long way!
White Residue and Tacky 3
Hailey from Rapid City
I love Derma E but this product was a bust for me. I work outside for 10 hours a day. As soon as I put it on, it wouldn't rub in and left white streak and felt so tacky. As the hour goes on, the white streaks would appear in other areas and all over my clothes! I felt like I could never get it rubbed in and always looked like I had a skin condition going on. I didn't burn but it's not worth all the white residue.
Soft cream that doesn't feel sticky 5
Rebecca from Undisclosed
Unlike so many zinc and titanium creams that go on sticky and thick, that grab sand and never feel natural, DermaE zinc lotion smooths onto my skin like a "normal" skin lotion. Once applied, it is soon forgotten. This affordable zinc cream is THE ONLY zinc lotion product that meets all of my sunscreen needs.
My go to sunscreen 4
constance from Undisclosed
Goes on easily and protects for a LONG time. Other brands are too hard to smooth into your skin and this one goes in pretty easily. I wish you would have a tinted version bc it really is white and my skin (even though I'm white) is pretty dark and you can see the white sheen. I'm more concerned with being protected and an easy application, so that's why four stars for this product.
New formula is terrible 1
Mollyk from Minneapolis, MN
I bought this last year (original formula) and it was fantastic. It used to blend in so well and didn't leave any residue. The new formula I purchased this year is horrendous. It doesn't blend into my skin at all and leaves a powdery white residue all over. The white mineral never absorbs and I am covered with white residue in every pore, wrinkle, or line in my skin for the entire day. It is a terrible shame that the formula was cheapened and the quality diminished.
I had some of the old product left and I did a side-by-side comparison: the old product blended in flawlessly and felt great, the new a total mineral residue and felt grimey. I'm so disappointed that I have to start my search for a natural sunscreen all over again.
This Sunscreen Is Ghastly 1
Casper from Los Angeles
This sunscreen is great if you want everyone to know that you're wearing sunscreen because It didn't blend into my skin at all and left a white pallor over my face. Multiple people asked me if I was well. I looked like I either was a ghost or had seen a ghost. And then it started to pill off but still somehow seemed to leave my skin the same ghastly color. I contacted customer service and they didn't stand behind their product at all. Most companies will thank you for your feedback about a product and make it better, but I think DermaE will continue to sell this awful sunscreen without making any changes to the product.
product has changed, leaves a white film 1
Jonathan from Undisclosed
I've been exclusively using Derma E mineral sunscreens for several years. I was always pleased with the safety of the ingredients for my skin and aquatic life. It was never as easy to apply as more common chemical sunscreens, but I didn't mind the little bit of extra effort. This product is different altogether. It does NOT rub in no matter how much effort you use. It leaves a white film on the skin. My friend who was with me at the beach made a joke and called me his "ghost friend." Even after I went in the water, the film was on me. Some was still on parts of me after I took a shower later! I'm returning the product and searching for a new product that's safe but also not an eyesore to wear, like the old Derma E mineral sunscreens were.
VERY dry and pills a lot. The face version is better though. 2
J from Arkansas
I gave it two stars instead of 1 because I loved that it was unscented, but it fell short in every other way.I tried this product with the hope that it would be good sun protection for exercising outside. When I used it the first time, I noticed that the sunscreen wasn't really rubbing in. It felt dry and left a white cast on my skin. It started pilling even just 25 minutes after having put it on, especially once I was running outside. The second time I used it, it pilled again, which caused me to worry that it wasn't protecting my skin because it hadn't really rubbed in, and sure enough, I had a sunburn on one of my shoulders once my run was over. I'm disappointed :( I wanted a good mineral body sunscreen. The face version of it is better though!

Not my favorite 2
D. Medina from Bay Area, CA
I personally don't like this sunscreen. It's way too thick and I look like a melted cupcake getting into the pool. So nah.
I'll stick to mango shea butter and pixi for my fun in the sun.
Hard to Apply and Rub in 3
Kate from Detroit
This sunscreen does not rub in leaving you with a coat of white anywhere applied. It also dries and pills then flakes off. It was even hard to wash off in the shower. I did not burn, but I did not like how it doesn't blend in.
Horrible white cast 2
Janet from Walnut creek
White cast does not go away no matter how much you rub
White cast 2
Meglee from NJ - New Jersey
This sunscreen dries so quickly, you barely have time to rub it over your body before it dries. And it leaves a strong white cast behind that makes me look patchy, ashy and ill. Would only recommend to the palest of people.
Not sheer 1
Dermae loyalist from Dallas, TX
Unfortunately the new formulation of the mineral sunscreen is not sheer at all. It leaves a horrible white cast that cannot be rubbed in. The old version was SOOOOO much better. I'm so sad it's gone.
Would not recommend 1
Camsil from Illinois
It leaves a white casting. At first I thought it was because I had put too much on. I tried it the following day and used less product and still leaves this white casting which makes your skin look dry.
Super white cast 1
Shiran from New York
I don't know how anyone would put this on and make it look good. It doesn't blend and it is super white and no amount of rubbing it in helps.
I don't recommend and would never buy again.

Always in the beach bag! 5

I have been using this stuff for years! I am acne prone, so a lot of sunscreen breaks me out. This one provides great sun protection, and I don't develop any new acne as a result of using it.
This is my new "Go To" 5
Jade from Undisclosed
This is an " a little goes a long way" product. This first time I put it in I used a " normal amount and it was more than enough. It stays on forever and almost seem more than 30 spf. I do not care for sun block but I'm getting older and sensitive to the sun... this is my new go to.
