A little background first: I have colored (sometimes highlighted), frizzy, very curly, voluminous, super thick hair that likes to "grow" into a 'fro whenever it dries *especially* in the heat and humidity. Most of the time I straighten my hair to try to manage everything I don't like about it, but I've been wearing my hair curly over the last few months and Mixed Chicks has been my go-to line. I REALLY like this shampoo, especially for the fact that it helps deflate the volume of my hair. It cleans my hair without making it drier than it already is and helps to reduce the frizz. I also like that the shampoo maintains my curls rather than making my hair curlier. Last, it lathers well, just not in the same way most other shampoos do in terms of all the bubbles and foam.
This have convincing reviews so I thought I'd give it a try since I also love cruelty-free products. BIG MISTAKE! Made my hair fall out everytime I'm rinsing even when I'm being gentle. No shampoo has ever did that to my hair before. It also made my hairline & other spots of my head extremely flaky like I have psoriasis. I thought at first it was just my scalp trying to adjust to it, but I was wrong. I used this for 1month like how I'd usually do my trial & error to any products to see difference, or actual effects but I wish I stopped at my 1st week. This dried & damaged my hair too much I'm considering a haircut to try & fix it.

I have "2a" thin hair that has waves in some areas and is more curly in others. I am always looking tirelessly for products that will help define waves/curls without weighing down my hair, but also is not drying. This leaves my hair very soft with more defined waves and curls, but does not weigh it down. I am now looking for a conditioner that will work well with it. It smells really good too.

Mixed Chicks Shampoo & Conditioner are the best for curly hair, I have tried products that cost $60 dollars and more & this is the best for curly hair and mine is curly. Your price was the best of any company so I will always buy my products from Ulta. The people that help on the phone are very professional and solve your problem what a pleasure to deal with Ulta.

My father's family is Sicilian, and to say I got the hair is an understatement. It's taken me years to figure out what to do with my wavy/loosely curled hair. I used my mother's products growing up and it never occurred to me that her hair (She's of 100% Irish descent.) was so far off from mine. Now in my Mid 30's, hundreds of products, several consultations, and more hours of research then I'd like to admit, I've found my hair soul mate. This is it. My one and only. 2 weeks of using the Mixed Chicks products exclusively, and my curls are looking better defined, and the reduction in tangling and frizz is unbelievable!

so I got this shampoo on a whim trying to try a new cruelty free brand for my mixed thick, curly, color treated hair. I mean my hair was on the edge of death since I bleach it allll the time. as soon as I used this shampoo my hair felt hydrated I could run my scalp scrubber all the way through almost pre-detangling my hair before conditioner. it. was. insane! I've never had a shampoo feel like a conditioner. my hair felt soft and hydrated afterwards, sometimes I don't even condition in the shower I'll just wash with that then use a leave in. and it lasts a long time.

I am a white woman in my late 40s with very fine, thin, stick straight hair. I was seeking a gentle shampoo that would cleanse my hair without breaking it. I use pure henna to color my (greying) hair and avoid parabens, glycerin, and sulfates. I prefer a shampoo without a lot of chemicals. I was hesitant to try this thinking it might make my fine hair that tends to get oily fast weighed down and greasy, but it did not. It gently cleansed it, smells amazing, and adds incredible shine. I've tried many natural shampoos, made my own, and even tried the no-poo method but this is working so well for my hair. It looks shiny, healthy, and I truly love the smell! Highly recommend this shampoo no matter what type of hair you have. Please (Mixed Chicks) don't stop making this and please continue to carry it (Ulta).

I made the mistake of having a Brazillian Blowout done on my very curly hair...3 times! My hair got very damaged. After cutting 10 inches off my hair to try and get rid of the damaged hair, I was left with nothing but frizz. I stumbled upon "Mixed Chicks" products and could not believe the almost instant results! The curl in my hair had definition again and looks amazing!
