Most Helpful Positive Review I like it BUT I'm more of a plain jane type of gal when it comes to lotion. I can't use perfumed lotions like Victoria's Secret and bath and body works. I have sensitive skin I guess. But I have been getting into these whipped body butters recently seems like a lot of people are. It's very popular right now. I have been wanting to try this cake butter because of the good reviews and word of mouth. I've heard it's pretty good. I thought it would be a little thicker although some of the reviewers already did mention it could have been thicker as well. Which Is fine. But with all the reviews that were saying how good it smells I'm not too sure where everyone is getting that from. I'm not getting the smell of cake or anything sweet really. And I was really looking forward to it. But It's very faint then if so. And all I really smell is lotion it kinda does remind me of the bum bum cream. I bought this and the TRULY unicorn fruit body butter. And the unicorn fruit is way better smelling than this in my opinion. I put some of each one on each of my arms and I was really only smelling the unicorn fruit throughout the day truthfully. But I'm still enjoying it. It does leave my skin nicely moisturized and the size for the price is much much better than the unicorn fruit. So I'll take that. It's a nice change from what I normally always use which is unscented Aveeno. So when I wanna smell like something a lil extra I'll go ahead and use this instead. I still use my normal Aveeno on my legs and intimate area because after shaving I'd rather not use anything scented to irritate my skin but then I'll go ahead and use this on my upper body. And it does still smell good but definitely not as strong or sweet as I thought it would be with what all the reviews were claiming. But still a good product. And I really appreciate the size and amount they give you for the price. It shows they care about giving their customers enough product even though its a bit pricey.
Most Helpful Critical Review Smells great makes skin soft I have wanted to try this for the longest time. I love desert scents and flavors! Especially when it comes to skin care. Also cute packaging is a HUGE sell for me!! Recently though, I found out that a lot of skin care brands use toxic chemicals in their products. I was surprised by the number of brands that use them. I have read that Tarte is a company that does make items for people with sensitive skin. I haven't tried many of their items, just their blush (which is amazing) and their eyeshadow until I had to switch to creams because of my sensitive eyes. I was looming up the ingredients on this after buying it (I know, my bad!!) and read 1 alarming ingredients: Phenoxyethanol. Phenoxyethanol is used in products to keep the product from expiring more quickly. If our skin care or makeup that contains it multiple times a day, every day, it can cause blistering on the skin and central nervous system damage. This is 1 of a big list of chemicals commonly found in our skin care and makeup. The FDA banned the use of these ingredients in Europe but not in the U.S. which is alarming. There are few brands that have chemical free products. Like Shea Moisture and Cera Ve. I did use this lotion though, as sparingly as possible and it did make my hands feel soften and smell good. It would be perfect if it did not contain any chemicals and I believe that it would be more hydrating as well without this chemical because chemicals do cause dryness. It does smell like vanilla cake WHICH I LOVE!!! It's not too strong, I have a very sensitive nose. I cannot wear perfume or scented body lotion without getting a headache. I would keep buying this if it were chemical free. It isn't as hydrating as I hoped either. If you are looking for a chemical free body butter that also smells good I would suggest Hemps Body Butter original. It smells like banana, hydrating and sinks into the skin.

Excellent body cream 5

The smell is strong, but not bad. It smells cakish but not like something you'd want to eat. I'd buy it again, but I'd buy it forever if there was an unscented version, it leaves me sooo soft.
Smells so good 5

I just really like it as a hand lotion. I use something thicker on my body but this stuff is amazing.

Best body butter ever! 5

I was skeptical because I usually hate body butters but this product is amazing! A little goes a long way, so you get tons of value. The texture is thick enough to soothe dry skin but soaks in fast without leaving any greasy feeling. It's not a super deep moisturizer, but it's perfect for everyday use. Will buy again and again.
Loved the other one so much I bought this one 5

Not that this body butter isn't moisturizing... because it definitely is. It's just not the most moisturizing. The smell is phenomenal!! The best ever!! And with the full size jar you get a very good amount of product.

Love the smell! So nice and vanilla-y. I expected it to be drying (as I find most scented lotions are), but it's not!

This is apparently somewhat of a dupe to Sol de Janeiro's Bum Bum Cream and I will say they do smell similar upon initial inhalation but this one is more subdued. However, if you smell them more closely they aren't too alike, tbh. The scent is a little strange in the tub - it reminded me of something like.. cut apples?? I can't exactly place it - but smells nice after it sets into your skin. Does not smell like cake. As for the lotion itself, I like the consistency - it's thick but not too thick, easy to spread on skin, and leaves my skin moisturized without feeling greasy. Not sure if I'd purchase again but it's in a nice big tub so I'm sure it will last a long time.
JUST NOT WHAT I EXPECTED 3

I moisturize with this all over after a shower. My favorite coconut body butter is off the market right now and I was hoping this would be as rich and creamy and delicious as my coconut product, and I was pretty disappointed! It's not even very creamy - the texture is kind of gel like. They tried to make it smell like cake batter but it has a chemical smell that ruins it for me.
Just blah 2

Waste of money. Not moisturizing at all and the smell is just ok. Better off buying a drugstore brand.

Great product with a great scent
Questionable 3

I ordered because it was on sale through 21days of beauty. Honestly, I got swayed by the reviews that it smelled great and that it felt good on skin. However, the texture (although titled butter) is a little more watery once you apply and rub it in. The smell is pretty faint and not as strong or long lingering how I like in comparison to the Body Shop body butters. Skin feels hydrated. Dries through. No oily feeling. There's nothing more to it than that. Wouldn't buy again nor buy if it was regular price.

I'm here to spill the tea so let's get into it. Does it smell like cake? No. Does it smell sweet? Not really. Does it smell good? Yes. I'm not sure why it's called cake butter but it's a good product. It's not too heavy so it's great in the summer and the scent really does last. I would recommend it overall.
Surprisingly good 5

I don't think I would have normally bought this but glad I did. Wish I would have bought more when it was on sale!

Smell just like fake tanning lotion which smells like coconut. And I'm not a big fan of coconut scented things. Really wish this actually smell like cake butter didn't like the consistency of the lotion either.
I love it! Have given it to friends as gifts! 5
Azule60+ from KS
Love it! Give it frequently as gifts. Have stocked up. Hope never to run out! Nice, light fragrance that does not linger. Not greasy at all. Soaks in. Many compliments on my skin since using it.
The perfect amount of scent and very effective 5

Super hydrating without feeling oily or like you may slide off of everything.
