Most Helpful Positive Review For the right skin type, truly magic! Reading some of the negative reviews of this product have compelled me to attempt to clear up some of the misconceptions. First of all, as much as cosmetics companies may wish to make you believe otherwise, not all products are universal; some are really created for certain skin types. This is one of those. If you have drier skin and are hoping for a dewy glow, you will hate this. For skin like mine that is continually, irritatingly greasy even in my 40s, it's a godsend. Second, some of the complaints I have seen referencing a chalky finish, a white cast, or goop under the nails tell me that we have some overly enthusiastic appliers. This is NOT meant to be applied liberally. Pat the pad of your finger on top of the base and pat it onto your problem areas (T-zone especially.) Pat it in, and then blend. It should disappear into your skin leaving a faint powdery finish. You can then pat some additional base onto your less-problematic areas (I love this as an eye primer for my starting-to-get-crepey lids.) If you let it set for a minute before you apply your foundation (I use BB creams) it should not clump or flake. If this happens, you are likely using too much primer and not enough foundation. Finally, for those who complain that this "spackles" their dry, rough patches and amplifies the flakes: if you exfoliate properly as part of your cleansing routine, this will not be an issue. Do not even THINK about applying this primer without exfoliating. Of course it will spackle your flakes! Ultimately, this is a great product if used properly on the right skin. For me, a 40-something with a dark, oilpit complexion, huge pores, UV damage, and fine lines, this stuff is pure gold.
Most Helpful Critical Review Works for the first few hours, then its downhill I have such oily skin, oily primers don't work for me at all. I can't make it past an hour without having to blot. I used this previously and thought if it worked then, it might work now. The only problem is that I need my makeup to last more than three hours on my skin. I have 18 hour days, school, work, etc. It has a thick feel, when you put it on, which is why it is in a pot. The pot is unfortunate, a lot less sanitary, and if you have any sort of fingernails (not clipped to the nub) then when you start using this product up, the deeper you have to dig down in the pot, you can't escape getting this under your fingernails, no matter how little nail you have, and that is frustrating. It is very thick, and feels sort of like it has silicone in it (I'm not sure if it does or does not). But it is thick on the skin, and that feeling doesn't fade. The primer never dries down, no matter what you put on top of it, it always feels sticky, tacky, etc. It works for a while, but then that quickly goes away, and my makeup is melting off my face.

It was very stiff and difficult to apply. I had to really rub (like scrub) my face to spread it around. That causes wrinkles and I have enough already!! I have used similar products that would glide over my skin.
This just did not work for me.
Great primer 5

I have very oily skin. This primer is the only one that can keep me shine free.
Good for pore filling 4
Kate from Virginia
Love this primer! I have combo skin, oily t zone. This has always been a primer I can rely on. It reminds me of benefit porefessional. Only thing I do not like is you have to scoop out product. I use a makeup spatula so I am not putting my finger in there and getting bacteria on the primer. Overall good for a matte finish! And a decent pore filler that is not a high end brand.
Absolutely! 5

This is a great primer, better than the more expensive ones!
I use this with or without foundation.
Holy Grail 5
Rebecca W from Charleston, WV
This is an amazing primer, I have tried so many from the high end to the lower end primers, I have some fine lines, but mostly large pores. OMG it works!! It actually conceals my pores, and lines. I even wear it when I'm not wearing makeup and I have gotten compliments, and friends asking what I'm using because my skin looks great. This is an inexpensive product , but it's worth so much! I've spent so much money on primers that do not work. I would have never imagined this primer would work so well. I love Revlon products, and I will be buying this primer over, and over. Please don't ever change it. It is truly awesome.
Best primer on the market 5
Angie from Milwaukee
Love love this product. Have tried more expensive primers and none can match this one. Minimizes pores, smoothed out lines. My skin glows with this primer. Best primer on the market
Really is magic 5
Cmiller from Texas
I put this on adter moisturizer, before foundation. Instantly smoothed my skin and blurred the appearance of my pores. Even without putting on foundation, you could see the difference. Very lightweight and non greasy feeling, and I only had to use a tiny bit of product.
Under eye wrinkles, even deep ones camouflaged 5

Good Pore Filling Primer 3
MakeupFandi from MI, US
I really like this primer for my oily t-zone and pores right by my nose! It does a good job of pore filling and mattifying. It is a little finicky though just because if there are any dry spots on my face, it really makes my foundation look bad.
THERES BETTER AT THE DRUGSTORE 3
JAYLE from MICHIGAN
This primer is not worth the price. easily you can get better performance from:
Maybelline- baby skin primer
Revlon- photo ready in pink bottle
and they would each cost less per oz. and perform better. remember application is EVERYTHING in pore filling! tap it in! let it set minimum 5 min ideally 15
Wonderful! 5

Best pore filling primer. Comparable to the Revlon pore filling primer, but even better.

This product has been causing major break outs. It also makes my makeup ball up and looks bad a few hours into the day. I really wanted to like this product due to good reviews.

Give it no Stars if I could 1
Broken Angel from Granite Falls N.C
I seen the word magic and was drawn in. I read up on this product and it was offering everything I was looking so I bought 2 jars. Ended up throwing the second jar away after I realized that it was clogging my pores and causing major break outs. I do not have sensitive skin but my skin hates this product. I will stick to my tatcha silk canvas yes it's pricier but it out weights the bad since it took me weeks to clear up my skin that i used up all my cleanser
Better than most 5
Rachel from Las Vegas
Helps my forhead not crease as much. Better than most expensive primers I've used
Great for oily skin 5
Megan from WA
I love this primer! I tried many primers before finding this one and it is the best! I pair it with the Rimmel London Stay Matte primer and together they are the only things I've found that actually keep my skin less oily. I apply the Rimmel first and allow to dry then use this primer, let dry for a few minutes, and then apply liquid foundation with a sponge. Perfect!
Best Dupe for tarte timeless smoothing primer!! 5
DJ from Houston
I am SO SO happy that I found this primer! I would only use my tarte primer for special occasions because it's so expensive. I have tried a ton of primers to try and find any that work that are more reasonably priced, and this is it!! I have very oily skin, large pores and acne scars and it helps smooth it all out! I typically do not use foundation, so I am not for sure how they work together but I love it with powders or by itself on no makeup days!!
Affordable primer that works! 5
Fer from Apex, NC
I feel like it's a good dupe for Benefit porefessionals. I've been purchasing this primer for over 1 year. It's affordable and works so why pay more?
Tried the sample from Ulta and bought full size!! 5

Love this. Feels amazing
BEST PRIMER FOR PORES 5
Jen from Michigan
Okay so this is my new holy grail. I will forever continue to buy this product because I have the most sensitive skin ever and most face products break my out like crazy. My skin is really dry but also super acne prone. I have so many acne scars (like actually indents and putting in my skin, not discoloration) and a huge nose with large pores. Currently I use too faced primed and poreless (pretty sure this is discontinued now😢) all over my face, let it sit for 30 seconds, then use this L'Oréal base on my nose and cheek areas. It's a thicker consistency for sure and you really have to rub it in good but almost immediately I see the smoothest skin ever. My pores completely disappear and my foundation looks flawless. You could definitely use this all over the face but it's such a small pot and I really don't need it in the other areas. LOVE THIS STUFF! So happy I found it
my ride or die!! 5
Ella K from Texas
this is by far the best primer I've ever used! i have very large pores near my nose and pores/texture on my forehead. this fills it right in! i use it only on my problem areas and it always gives me a smooth finish! it also helps my problem areas from getting greasy and separating my foundation throughout the day. at this point, i wouldn't be caught dead doing my makeup without it! another win for L'Oreal!
